The white on the back is because if the case were clear, the placement of the MagSafe magnet circle would look strange with the lower placement of the apple logo on the pro phones
Yeah, I get that, and tastes very, but I find that big white rectangle to be hideous. I get the clear case every year so I can see the color of the phone I chose, but with this year's clear case you can only see the color on the sides and the camera bump. Returning it in lieu of the Casekoo case that looks more like Apple clear cases of the past.

I bought that one too, and it arrives Friday. I have the one (also ESR) with the kickstand around the camera, but after opening it, I don't like that position. It's very clear and feels nice though.
Does that one cover the rear cameras? I worry that if it becomes cloudy pics will not be crisp.

Totally has a large white rectangle on the back. Mine is going back.
I'm thinking of going somewhat "naked" this year haha 😁

Bumper case, anyone?

Check this out:

Found something very similar on amazon. https://a.co/d/1wfi5Sq

Gonna at least try one of these, kinda worried about reception, so we'll see

Just found out from UPS My Choice that my iPhone is delayed to ship. Hopefully that changes. Perhaps these initial delivery dates of 9/25 that were switched to 9/19 will be switched back.

Hey guys, I am getting the international version of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which has support for one nano-SIM and one eSIM. I’ve read that iPhones can store up to 8 eSIMs, but I’m not sure about simultaneous use on this model.

Can I run two eSIMs at the same time (and leave the nano-SIM slot empty), or is it limited to one eSIM + one nano-SIM active?

I do this all the time on the previous model. You can run either configuration but only have two active at a time. Doesn’t matter which option you want to run.

I read a lot of people are setting up their new iPhone from scratch.......
Is there really a benefit in doing this?

Not sure I understand why.......all the apps are not just copied over, they are actually downloaded from the store fresh, so no benefit there. Music/videos/etc is just data. Settings I don't know if this would make any difference.

Please enlighten me as I don't know the inner workings and how this might be a benefit.......Thanks!

my current 128GB android has so much junk over the last 5 years that I wouldn't want to copy them into a new phone. I'll start afresh so that I can choose what apps to download, have a little time to play with my new phone, and don't have the feel of having the same old stuff and settings/wallpaper on the new phone so that it doesn't feel the same old with just a new skin from outside. Obv this totally doesn't apply to my case since I am switching from an android but even if i were coming from an iphone, i would have done the same.

also, starting fresh kinda forces you to declutter. you end up realizing which apps you actually use and which ones are just taking space. no more old widgets you never touched, old notifications settings, or weird permissions you gave years ago. everything feels clean, snappy, and tailored to how you actually want to use the phone now. lastly, it just feels nicer mentally, like a clean slate. you set it up the way you want, not the way the old phone was slowly collecting stuff over years.

In my humber opinion, the benefit is a placebo effect. Some people claim that it makes their phone run smoother because it cleanses some kind of build up of digital junk.

I do that a lot. Helps to clear out any software bugs and kinks that were causing issues like background cpu usage and battery drain etc. You just never know 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've done it both ways, I don't know that there was any benefit to starting out from "scratch." I'm doing an iCloud backup.

I have 4 UPS tracking labels. One has shipped (the 40W charger), one is the iPhone and two labels for something weighing 0.3lbs. I have no idea what those two are for.
Same here - one UPS label that is clearly the phone, then a 0.5lb Fedex package shipping from CA - unclear what. I only ordered a phone, no accessories.

I setup my phones as new and then only install apps as I need them. That way I don’t have any extra apps installed and only have what I need/use on a more regular basis.

Do you have a trade in? My Apple FedEx package is my box to return my trade in. A closer look at it shows that I’m the sender on the label and AI is the recipient.

it’s still only 16:23PDT, looks like they just started working west coast queue. I bet you’ll be seeing your tracking # come up soon.
FYI, it's now 17:34 PDT and still nothing for me...interesting...btw, I live in the Bay Area, CA...so there is that...

Yeah me too unfortunately. You pay the taxes and first month of the new phone once you get it. I actually had a pending charge for the taxes hit on Sunday the 16th but not the first month yet. iPhone launched on the 20th last year so that’s why we have to make that extra payment for the old phone. Sucks…
The payment will be partially refunded when you return the old phone. That’s how it worked last year at least.

I had labels created in the FedEx app for my four return boxes, then two were cancelled, then another one appeared.

I would imagine it will all work out eventually, but it's a little strange to watch.
One year the return box was sent but not delivered. FedEx said it was lost. I called Customer Service and asked them to send me a new box. And then I got three boxes delivered — the original plus two more.
