Mine was in Kentucky yesterday (I live in Tennessee) and Canada this morning. For sure there is something going on with some of these shipments.

Can you go in early for in store pickup? Im just picking it up and don't need to activate. Got the ready for pickup email just have a later window.
It depends on who you talk to and if they can let you. In most cases, they want you to come closer to your scheduled time for pick up. I had the 8:30 am check in time but unfortunately I didn't get the ready for pick up email till 9:30 am. When I arrived at the Apple store, they let me wait in front of the line. Thankfully, my work schedule starts 12:15 am so it worked out perfectly for me.

At least the store I went to had 2 lines. One line was long, which obviously was for walk-in's. The other line was for those who have ordered for in-store pick-up.

I was curious if there would be lines. I’ve done a few pickups and it’s been a. Breeze like a normal day unlike the early camp out days haha

I take that back, my phone is out for delivery and when I just looked, it’s showing me the map already.
Mine did that too. It first showed the truck about 8 miles east of home. On the next refresh, it's like it had rocketed straight to my closest major intersection. Since then, of course, the map has shown the truck parked at an outdoor power tools shop for 40 minutes. 😆

I still don't have a delivery window, though. It's "by 7:00 P.M."

Well there were lines earlier when I went there. But it went pretty quick for me. Some left the line because they wanted Cosmic Orange and they were told there were none left in stock.

Waiting on FedEx. Between 10:10AM and 2:10PM Central time window, with delivery commitment by 8:00PM. 2x 17PM 2TB Blue.

It’s finally here! First time in a long time it arrived before noon. Thanks Next Day Air Saver. Typically arrives after 3pm.

See you all next year!

updated from/to ?
There is a day one update to the new iPhones. Neither of the phones I collected from the Apple Store were updated, though apparently some may have been as they do have the machine that does it in the back room.

I understand some phones shipped with 23A330, which was at least a month ago, and updated to 23A345. I updated using my Mac Finder before using Quick Start.

BTW, my iCloud backup restore let me access the phone in about 15 minutes, whereas my restore from encrypted backup on the Mac was estimated to take 6 hours- as I recall from past restores I'd not have access to the new phone until that restore was completed... , in 6 hours! I got a lot of stuff, so other's mileage may vary.

Just was at Best Buy and played around with the Air (I have a pro coming today). Ugh that thing is gorgeous. Literally couldn't believe the feeling when I picked it up. I stood there for about 30 minutes debating if I should return my pro. My only hesitation is that I use my cameras to shoot YouTube videos and Reels for my business.

Ugh...
The Air was nice to hold, but I don't find the 17PM that big or heavy, i'd thought I'd notice it was heavier than the 16PM, but did not.

I have big hands! And you know what they say about guys with big hands, they wear big gloves! lol

They made it! Way earlier than usual. The Max is mine and I agree completely with everyone saying the feel is much better than the last few models 🙂 The Air is my roommate’s so it hasn’t been opened yet, but definitely excited to see that one, too.

Good luck, everyone - Until next year!

People who have received their iPhone from UPS.....did you have to sign for it?
I did. I saw the truck outside my window. I opened up the door as he was walking up. I said, “Man i’m glad to see you”. He replied “I’m glad to see you, so that I don’t have to take these packages back”. I said, if I left a note on the door asking you to leave my packages, would you? He said no, they have had a lot of thefts. Others have posted that the UPS driver left their packages without a signature, so it may depend on where you are and perhaps the driver?

I thought new iPhone day journey would be more fun with a road map. Here are a couple things I previously posted about moving to your new iPhone.

It appears the most important thing when using any backup from a previous iPhone is having your Apple Account password. If you don't know it but are logged into Apple device(s), depending upon your settings you can initiate a password reset. There are support documents to assist if you don’t have your password.

If you don't have space in iCloud for a full iCloud backup, Apple has provided temporary space for an iCloud backup to transfer to your new iPhone. There will be a "get ready for your new iPhone" under iPhone>Settings at some point, and it will offer the space there. When I used the iPhone Upgrade Program I had a “get ready for your new iPhone” in Settings, but I don’t see it yet this morning. Maybe it shows up when the new phone is turned on near the old phone.

I think the iCloud Restore started via Quick Start is probably the fastest and easiest method. And most people don't like transfers between devices as they lock you out of both devices until the process is complete. With iCloud Restore it will complete most of the transfer and then let you use the phone while it continues to download apps, email and messages, settings, and files.

One of my first steps after restoring to my new iPhone is to change my phone’s name in Settings>General>About

If you can't pair your Apple Watch with a new iPhone

I did not find an article about pairing a new watch once you have the old watch paired with the new iPhone. As I recall I just started up the new watch next to the new iPhone and a notification on the iPhone asked if I wanted use the previous watch backup to set up the new watch.

Good luck and have fun out there!
I set up my pre-order late Thursday night and during that process it said AT&T couldn’t verify my account (probably because it was so late AT&T closed down their verification server), so I’m guessing I’m getting an unlocked phone. Will phone-to-phone Migration or Restore from Mac move my eSIM over? I hope I don’t have to call or visit an AT&T store
