Right! I can guarantee just as soon as I leave the house they're going to pull up
It's even worse because I have to run errands for the wife today. I am 15 min into my 4 hr window...do I take the chance and return home with a note on the door: "we missed you, be back on Monday, enjoy your weekend without a new iPhone?"
My map keeps showing the truck getting farther and farther away from my address. 😱
Estimated delivery from UPS to my place of business today is 11:45 to 2:45. Driver shows up at 10:30 and delivers another expected package, I asked about my other package that's supposed to be delivered (the iPhone). I show him my UPS app and he looks at his handheld too and sees it should be on the truck. Driver goes to truck for a few minutes and comes back to say he can't find it. Says he'll come back if he finds it while making other deliveries and pickups.
I'm thinking the worst (it was stolen) but hoping for the best (it's really on the truck and since it was early in his route he couldn't spend a lot of time looking for it). I hope as he whittles the deliveries down he finds it.
Ugh.

My UPS map disappeared. I wonder if the driver went to lunch
YIKES the guy showed up at noon. i had locked the front gate since i didnt expect UPS until this evening. happened to glance at my phone and saw a homekit notification showing just a foot with a brown sock stepping into the camera field of view. ran to the gate and the delivery guy was out there starting to write sticky notes for the missed delivery.
i gotta be more optimistic! though a lot of times these guys don't ring the doorbell or even try to open the gate. i should have been monitoring the camera continuously!! sheesh!!
dang!! almost total tech failure. the homekit footage shows the guy knocking and ringing the doorbell... and i got no notification for the doorbell. WTF. well, at least it worked out.
Don’t leave! Don’t go to the bathroom, step out into the backyard, etc because that’s when they’ll arrive! 😃
First ever UPS fail for a new iPhone delivery.
Thank goodness I was nerdy and had a printout in BIG font with:
Tracking # xyz = iPHone Cosmic Orange, # abc = AirPods Pro 3, etc
As soon as I saw the UPS guy on the security camera, I ran to the door with the printout.
Note: He had just left my Watch and AirPods Pro 3 packages.
He did not knock for signature. Even though I had a big SIGN on the door saying "UPS, please knock loudly. We might be upstairs."
Then, UPS driver, said "while you're here, I might as well have you sign". He presented just a signature box to me on the handheld. I made him back up a couple screens to show me exactly what I was signing for.
On the good, the iPHone Cosmic Orange tracking # was not listed.
So at least the driver was honest, right?
I did receive the AirPods Pro 3 and Watch Series 11 packages.
But no 🍊 Cosmic Orange 🍊 iPhone 😭
So frustrating - the Official UPS status (see pic) shows "delivery attempted". NOT!
The driver claimed it was NOT on his truck. UPS status showed it was on his truck!
Now delivery status changed to Monday. When I click "change my delivery", it says "enter the infonotice #"
I did not receive an info notice # !!
Has this happened to anyone else? I think I'll just do store pickups from now on. T

Other oddity that was making me worry:
When I searched for my incoming packages, the phone package did NOT have the "AI" in bold above it. But the rest appeared as normal. I've never seen that. Now, it's "not on the truck" according to the driver.
I do believe the driver. I bet it's lost and not shipped.

he described it like a tanning bed, phones in sealed boxes rest in the trays, and they update. no info on how long it takes or how many at a time. But neither of my phones were updated according to the Finder on my Mac reporting an update was available.
hmm, what's the consensus so far ISPU experience smoother, more reliable, or having it delivered by UPS / Fedex?
Mine disappeared also then came back. But he’s taking the longest route to my house as always. Was right down the street from me. Then goes to another neighborhood a mile away and is back here again smh.
I'd wait for the phone. But u know your wife better than me. Might be better to miss the phone than feel her wrath
Updating in their boxes, no removal necessary.
I used my Mac Studio with fast ethernet connection with a Thunderbolt 5 cable to the phone, and then did a second phone. And I didn't have to do any interactions on the phone to update, it was all in the Finder window for the iPhone connection.
I loved it! I selected my time and was in and out in 10 minutes. It almost felt too easy. lol
Nice vibe in the store, busy but not chaotic or frantic. Lots of people in great moods and smiling. I'll definitely do it again!
I walked my dog past the local AT&T store this morning. It's one of those small authorized retailer in a strip mall. There was nobody in there except one guy, who was sitting on a chair looking at his phone. I peeked in all the windows, but I didn't see any of the new phones. I was hoping to see the orange. Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow after all. At least I have my watch to look forward to, which should be here in just a few hours.
I'm setting up my new phone now - I hope everyone gets their deliveries soon. I'm so sorry for the those that are delayed. Until next year peeps!
