Are you all getting the super thin weird flat little folded boxes for trade in? It's like a thin piece of weird padding and nothing else - how do the phones not break shipping in this?
Years ago, Apple gave me a box like that to return my iPhone X (the battery was starting to swell and push the display out of the case, but it was fully functional otherwise). Of course I used that thin crappy box since that's what Apple told me to use. Once it arrived, Apple denied my warranty repair because the motherboard was damaged ... at which point I thought: yeah, that crappy box likely shoved the display back into the case again and again as it traveled to Apple. 👹👿👹💩

I got one of the weird boxes for my watch. The thing actually fell partially apart so the piece that was supposed to hold it together ... didn't. l used some packing tape to make it secure and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's going FedEx, so that's another concern.

I walked my phone trade-in to the Apple store this afternoon and I had a lot more confidence in that transaction.

I got that for my iPhone trade in. My husband got a larger version for an iPad trade in he did. They both arrived at their destination today, just 30 minutes from my house. I could have driven them there faster and been assured they’d be fine lol.

The return location address on the label depends on the type of device return you are making. IUP or just a generic device return for example.

IUP return of a 16PM. Last few years it has gone to Northern California… 🤷🏻‍♂️

My iPhone 17 pro max (cosmic orange 256gb) is out for delivery today morning at 9am EST. Still not delivered yet. This has been worst iPhone pre order experience in 11 years for me
Anyone facing the same issue? UPS has not delivered the phone yet. It is already 9:16 pm EST.

256 Org PM 9/23-29 has tax charged today and PTS finally. Also have not received IUP TIK for a Pro received on sked 9/19. No labels for either in UPS or FedEx. Did get an email about the TIK and Apple Store tracking from the link in that email says due 9/23-25. Didn't see that link before!

This is nothing short of a disaster. It has been out for delivery for 12 hours. Now the latest update has been removed, and it is still processing at the UPS facility. When I called UPS, they informed me that the days in transit are still 1 day left. Not sure who to blame here.

Guys, do our phones need a camera lens protector? I am using JETech clear case at the moment and it has raised edges, but still want to know if you guys use any lens protector or not.

September 24 - 29
Got shipped notification at 8:10pm pst with delivery as tomorrow. I highly doubt about delivery tomorrow as UPS is not even tracking. Seems like Apple just threw package to UPS after the cut off time and sent notification to customer as tomorrow. So, now I as customer think it's UPS problem. hahaah

It is such a mess this year. Never seen these kind of discrepancies during iPhone launch

Apple using next day air saver which means no delivery over the weekend. They should use next day air which will include weekend deliveries
So you want Apple to pay more because UPS can't meet their contracted obligations. I would suggest your blaming toward Apple would be to have launch day on a Wednesday instead of their historical Friday launch.

Sorry but this happens every year. Maybe this is the first year you were impacted.

Never happened to me even when I ordered couple of hours after the pre orders started

Ah UPS does not accept packages if the shipper misses the pickup time. Let us know where your iPhone originated tomorrow when you get UPS tracking data.

Dave
Surprise UPS picked up item at 11:10pm pst - may be UPS exception to big client like Apple. As of now UPS shows delivery tomorrow - UPS next day air.

No it will decrease camera quality, you only need to cover that expose plateau tho

Well said!

In all the years dealing with UPS, they have been exceptional in package delivery commitments - when I had a business sending and receiving restricted items requiring adult signatures - it's all about how much the shipper pays for the service and what the shipper is entitled to receive back should it not deliver as specified.

I suggest Apple change their shipping models and let the customer choose the level of service and the customer should pay.

This way only the recipient is solely responsible for the delivery based on their needs and customers can't blame Apple once it's left their possession.

Top to bottom service (most expensive to least expensive):
  • UPS Same Day Critical
  • Next Day Air w/ Saturday & Sunday delivery option
  • Next Day Air (no weekend delivery for missed)
  • Next Day Air Saver
  • 2 Day Air AM
  • 2 Day Air PM
  • 3 Day Select
  • Ground
  • Ground w/ USPS handoff & delivery

I like this suggestion, but I think it could be tweaked to ensure a free shipping option is still the default. Apple could offer one of the services as the free default (ie, the service they currently use), alongside offering paid shipping options. Otherwise, people would be up in arms about the trillion dollar company that stopped paying for shipping
