How are you guys saving pre-orders? I plan to order through Apple website. I have a Macbook as well. does app allow you for a faster checkout?
After you go through the selection process of what phone you want, carrier selection, apple care, etc, it will have a big blue button at the end of the screen that says Get ready for pre-order. Then you just go through the steps.

So I am doing an Apple store pickup but financing and trading in the old phone through AT&T

1) Can I pick up both mine and my wife's phone even though she won't be with me? Should I buy it on my Apple account instead of hers?

2) How does the trade in to AT&T work? Do they mail a box for the old phone like if I had went rhrough them? I just got to make sure I don't have to give them to Apple at the time I pick our phones up since she won't be with me.
1) If your wife makes her own order, she would have to designate you by name on who's picking it up. Apple Stores has a bunch of orders fraudulently picked up over the past year so expect that verification of identity will be more demanding. If it were me, I'd order both on my Apple account.

2) Trading in to AT&T - they should send you a box and Apple wouldn't be expecting to get your old phone at Pickup. You owe the phone to AT&T, not Apple based on your post.

I've seen it for IUP folks where they could turn in their phones immediately at pickup. I normally do ISPU and even if they ask me if I want to turn in my phone, I say NO - cause I need it for all the transfer of data to setup my new phone and watch. Then, again, on IUP, I can go back to the store at a later date to turn it in...something on the order of a couple of weeks from pickup actually.

You cannot do Pre-Pre-orders w/ discount stores that I know of (at least through the Veteran store). I know for Veteran, you can't do ACMI either. It's Pre-order day and later only unfortunately. I forego the Veteran discount and just do the IUP. The 10% isn't worth the anxiety for me. On top of that, it's crazy when you try to authenticate at that 5am time (PDT) when everyone is crashing via the Store App and browser to get into the store to put their POs in.

YMMV - I think I must have started IUP with the 15PM launch, so I didn't try for it then.
Thanks; I swore I did Veterans with 2 get ready carts for the 15 round - I did 2 and we were first and second on line (appointments) and got in immediately with all the discounts - so seems they removed it this time around. It's about $125 per phone so adds up, but I guess the risk of OOS / delays is the price you pay. Not in a massive rush but just want to avoid months of waiting.

What's annoying is on the top of the veterans page it has the "Save time at iPhone pre‑order. Get the prep work done now, then speed through checkout on 9.12. Get Started" thing - even though it seems this is fully not an option.

Last year I had Safari open on my Mac and my phone, and the Apple store app open on my phone, and I togged between them until I finally got in. I'm not sure if any is faster or not. ETA: Your pre-order is available both ways.

So damn happy they didn’t raise the prices for the pro max. Gonna get orange. Not sure whether to get 512GB or 1TB though. I’m about 70-ish GB from filling up my current 512GB iPhone. Guess I still have a day to decide lol

I feel like this process of trying and failing with the Veterans store is part of my personal iPhone purchasing ritual. Saving the ˜$100 is worth it, for me.

Hi guys. What charging brick would you recommend me to get with 17 Pro Max? My last iphone was 7+ that's why don't know much what to get.

I currently use Samsung Note 10 Lite. So this is a big upgrade for me. Planning to pre-order Silver or Orange 17 Pro Max 256 GB
This is a new 40W charger from Apple that does fast charging.

I love my Anker 150W.

I am on iUP and I have always shipped be preorder to receive on launch day and my first payment would be charged the day it shipped and began it's journey and future payments were on the same day of the month going forward. My question is, if I do in store pickup, when does the first payment get charged? If the phone is ready on the 19th but I don’t pickup until the 21st, is my payment on the 21st now or sooner because it shipped/was ready sooner?

Along the same line, if I preorder and get launch day availability, am I able to schedule my in store pick up a couple days after launch and not lose my phone? Or does it have to be picked up immediately?

This is a first for me, I always ship, but we live in an apartment where I can’t sign for a package and on top of that, my wife is giving me grief that because of the nature of launch day phones, my payment is always on a financially inconvenient day. Trying to engineer my situation this year.

How does it work tomorrow morning on the Apple Store app if we have two phones in our “ready to preorder”. Do we just checkout once? Or will I have to do it separately?

My 16PM ISPU charged on the day I picked it up - 9/20/2024. You'll pay tax for the whole phone tomorrow morning when you put the pre-order in.

You select the day and time window for your ISPU and it doesn't have to be the 19th. You can book out a few days I think.
