USB Tethering Working on iPhone 3.0

Guys, I've got MMS working on my iPhone 3G in Germany!!! Well at least I can compose MMS messages (add pictures, ...). Sending is not possible by now.

Well, tethering is working! MMS composing as well! But I still cannot send MMS... Did you really send it? In my case there is a red exclamation mark next to the pic saying that the message was not sent...

i sent myself a mms twice and they immediately came back.. then i changed some stuff and it didnt work anymore, restored the "working" ipcc and now mms doesnt work anymore..

how to set APN for MMS?

I got tethering working on Vodafone IT and MMS composing.

I still can't send MMS but I think it's because I didn't find a way to set the APN to be used for sending them. (mmsc, mms_proxy correctly set already)

Anyone knows how to set the APN for MMS service?

okay so, i dont get it working anymore.. but what i have figured out,
when sending mms worked, i couldnt browse the web over the iphone anymore.. when i can browse the web, i cant send mms..

i think the problem is that i can't tell it to use a special apn for sending mms and another apn for internet.. or at least i dont know how..

does anyone know what that "type-mask" option actually does?

I also don't have that folder. Tried enabling hidden files in finder, navigating via Terminal, everything, but there is no iPhone Carrier Support folder on my Mac anywhere. Am with Fido in Canada, if that makes a difference.

Any help would be appreciated.

The folder is not installed by default, it will be only there when you accepted to update youre carrier settings when asked in iTunes, which will not happen often...
I tried searching for a .ipcc file for you're carrier but i can't find one.
Maybe if youre able to access a jailbroken iPhone on Fido over SSH you could get the file...

Simply download the appropriate carrier file for your provider, to install the carrier update you can from iTunes simply hold down the Option key (on a Mac, I forget the key for Windows, it's the same key to select a firmware file manually) and click Check for Update. Choose the .ipcc file and it will update the carrier settings.

I was beginning to suspect something like that, and started looking for a way to do a manual reinstall of the current version of the carrier ipcc, so that I could trick it into making the folder, but I'll see if I can get my hands on a jailbroken one. UPDATE:

I finally sent an MMS!
I changed my apn to the apn used for MMS and it works. [vodafone IT]
Now I just have to find a way to use different APNs according to the service (so to have both internet and mms working)

UPDATE:

I finally sent an MMS!
I changed my apn to the apn used for MMS and it works. [vodafone IT]
Now I just have to find a way to use different APNs according to the service (so to have both internet and mms working)
