I received an email that there was a payment failure with my card. I just updated the card and had it paid... should I expect my delivery for Friday to be delayed now?

You should be good for Friday as long as your payment clears.
 
I preordered thru verizon customer service last friday hoping i could get the unit on the 21st. Checked the verizon website and it still says pending and shipment is on Oct.10. :confused:

did you get a text saying your order was received ? I ordering also last Friday at 12:01 via CS.
 
Ordered on 9/14 at about 1am with a chat agent on Verizon website. iPhone XS Max 64 Grey.

Just got email and text from both my bank and Verizon saying my order has been processed and funds have been taken from my account. Verizon website still shows as processing, I’m sure I’ll have my phone by Friday since they charged my card ;)
 
I received a new payment confirmation so I’m hoping that’s the case.

You’re golden. The last couple of years, my credit card flagged my phone orders as fraudulent and I was able to get it straightened out and get my phones on release day. This year, I used my debit card and the payment went through.

Just checked Apple Pay transaction history and see that the Verizon charge from around 1/2 hour ago was Declined. I had a feeling that paying with Apple Pay was a bad idea...Waiting for e-mail from Verizon to change payment methods I guess.

Has anyone that used Apple Pay through the Verizon app successfully had the final charge go through?

I had the same problem. I used Apple Pay and got the same email about the decline. Had to call and update. Frustrating.
 
My order has been sitting on pending for a while, just noticed I got an email from Verizon earlier today that there was an issue with payment and to call them. Just called and looks like Chase blocked the transaction, they ran it again and same thing. Tried a different card and I got a text notification from my bank asking if I’m attempting to make this transaction. I said yes, and it went through.

The lady on the phone said that this launch has had a lot of banks and card companies blocking this transaction. She said this won’t delay the shipping and will still get the phone Friday.
 
I ordered a 256GB XS Max is Gold at 00:04 PST, used Apple Pay because I assumed it would be quicker. Of course, it declined and got an e-mail today to update my payment info with a link that I couldn't open on my iPhone (weird). Got on my MacBook and was able to update it. I was charged and now it now says processing. Recently moved to LA from VA so I hope it ships on the 21st with no issues.

Verizon only uses Fedex, correct?

did you pay for your phone in full? I also have chase but my charge is only to pay off 1 monthly payment for my 8 plus

Had this issue order morning. Ordered at 3 am est. got an email at 6:30 am saying it could not complete my payment to call a number. I used Apple Pay. They could not update my order so had to cancel and do a new one. I knew I should have used my card instead. All is well but it was a pita.

I ordered my case 30 minutes later from Apple with Apple Pay, no issues. So it was something with Verizon. Lesson learned

I had mine waived and just ordered a watch had it waived on that as well and the $50 off credit added even though I ordered at 2 different times and I had 2 different reps

I told them that I’ve been a customer for a long time and have ordered new phones almost every year and that I’ve seen other people get their fees waived and then they agreed to waive it

I went through Live Chat. I told the rep I had an issue during the preorder process and that it took a lot longer than usual (which was true). My preorder actually switched from an iPhone XS Max to an iPhone XS in my cart (probably a session issue). I also said I've been a loyal customer for years and was there anyway they could waive the fees (I preordered an iPhone XS 256GB Silver for my wife, and an iPhone XS Max 256GB or myself). They came back and said they could waive one of the two (which is what seems to happen every year), but they applied it as a $30 bill credit and I got a text and an email in the overnight confirming it.

Anyone else get a message on the FedEx page that the tracking # can’t be found? I got my tracking # like 7 hours ago and just wanted to see where my phone was coming from. Granted, I’ve been through 5 pre-orders and I’m sure the # will work tomorrow...
