Ordered a silver XS 64GB (for me) and a silver XS Max 256GB 9for my husband) right after midnight on the first pre-order day in the same order. The two phones went through the stages separately but both ended up with the same tracking number, to be delivered 9/21 by 3pm. The FedEX tracking page says they are in Memphis with the note: "Per shipper instructions, package will not be delivered until the scheduled delivery date."

That is correct, even if it's shipped it will be passed around to different locations until the 21st. I do remember in the past a few folks receiving theirs on Thursday (a rarity) but they are specific about the date.

Called Verizon over the phone 3 hours after launch and ordered a Silver 512GB IPhone XS Max. Order still is under the “processing” banner / status. Like last year and the year before that, my pre-orders always seem to be charged the Wed / 2 days before release date. I’m not worried!

Cell phone providers have some of the worst customer service of any industry. I've jumped carriers before, and there have been a few times that I've threatened Verizon with a cancelation if bills mistakes, unwanted account changes, or unwanted protection plans weren't reversed. One time I purchased a device from the store and they didn't tell me they were adding mobile protection, nor did I sign anything for it. Retentions reversed the charges and permanently moved me to a better plan for less money. They have tremendous pull. Although I would not personally use a 'I'm leaving' card for this instance, especially since the rep offered quite a bit, if you feel it's warranted go ahead. I'd be pissed too.

I see it using mobile browser on the Verizon app FYI my apologies I misspoke about the app I was multitasking lol once I found it I was able to verify it on Apple site. Login to your Verizon account on the browser go under orders and it’s in the area you can track your shipping. My phone is sitting in Elizabeth NJ so it has a long way still to make it to CO but it’s listed as next day shipping
 
I used Apple Pay and still haven’t been charged or declined. My status still shows pending with deliver by date as 21 Sep and charge still shows pending on the Wallet App. I guess this can be a good sign and go through or could end up bad and decline at the last minute.

Super Sad, went into store on saturday to pre order like an idiot, get a print out that says it arrives 9/22. Big hype. Come to find out its actually 10/10. Big sad
Same for me. Ordered in store Friday morning..... order says 10/10 - maybe after the launch day shipments that date will shrink
 
I ordered a 256gb gold XSMax at 3:03am on 9/14. I received a confirming right away stating it will be delivered by 9/21. Still says processing. CC not charged

I am in the same boat. Ordered the 256gb SG Max at 3:02am via PayPal online and Verizon is still showing “processing.”

Appears that you are a step ahead of me. My order is still showing as “Pending”. I wasn’t to worried about that on Monday and Tuesday, but now sitting here at Wednesday and still showing as Pending has me concerned.

So my payment got decline via Apple Pay last night so Verizon sent me an email to update my payment information and I did. As soon as I updated it charged my credit card, but still as of this morning it has not shipped. I hope it ships soon as I wanted my phone before I leave Friday out of the country...

I am also seeing inconsistencies between the app and the Verizon Wireless webpage. in regard to my order for a Xs Max SG 256GB:

App Shows: Order Pending, Ship Around 9/21/18

Webpage Shows: Order Being Processed, Deliver By 9/21/18

I have not called Verizon, but I guess it is not surprising that so many people are reporting mixed messages from the reps or lack of knowledge on their part, as it appears that their own systems do not show consistent information.

They aren't waiting for me to pay my monthly Verizon bill before they charge me... Right? It wasn't past due or anything when I ordered my phone.

I ordered last Fri. and yesterday my bill was due. I never pay it on time since they moved the date up a few months ago. I usually pay a few days later. Like this Friday when I get paid. I hope they are not waiting for that.

Since I have done preorders - starting with the iPhone 5 - the website has always displayed dates like that - nothing new.

Don’t worry until Friday at 2am

I have the same message. I received an e-mail with my tracking and shipping information but when I click to track, I get that message. I’m assuming it’ll update today or tomorrow.
 
Well, Verizon canceled my order due to a system glitch. Spent an hour and a half on the phone until I got to a person who knew what they were doing. Got the order put through again with a “jump the line” request to get my original ship date back. So far ship date now oct 3rd. We shall see if the “jump the line” thing works.

My silver 256 Max has been charged and a FedX tracking number attached. I'm beginning to regret not getting the gold but there is a date of 10/3 on the gold...did anyone who had a 10/3 date see any action in their order?

We carry about 800 lines, half of which are with vzw. We've told them our goal is to transition all our lines, so they go out of their way to make that as easy as possible. Not sure what sort of witchcraft they used to make it happen, but my 256 Max only invoiced for $799. I assume some subsidies remain on the business side?

Was that a one-year or two-year contract?
