Sure, I'm excited to receive my iPhone 4S as well, but I'm not going to get pissed off if it doesn't arrive on Friday. There are wayyyyy more important things in life than a gadget....
 
My bank account has been deducted $261 from Verizon Wireless just about a half hour ago, so I guess it was shipped. Haven't got a tracking number though.

Edit: I was deducted $211 from Verizon, not $261. The other $50 was from when I filled up my gas tank, they were grouped together.

My CC has been charged and my status has changed. I don't have a delivery date yet (all the info is just blank), but the page has updated to show that it is being shipped. Would love to get it Thursday, since I am out of town starting Friday afternoon, but if not I'll pick it up on Monday.
 
Using the link in my order confirmation email, my status has continually said "We received your order and it is in process.
Expected Ship Date: 10/14/2011"

Using the link you provided, it now says my order won't ship until the 21st! I ordered through Verizon at about 2:15 CDT on Friday Oct. 7. I'm a new customer (switching from AT&T) so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Any other new Verizon customers seeing similarly confusing messages?

My status has changed. Ordered right before 3:15 AM Friday. If I check their other status page it now says "Your order has been sent for processing."

Status changed for me and card was just charged. It was a PayPal Debit Card and I was a little nervous because I could not change the billing first name to reflect my own while ordering. Good to know that appears to have not delayed it at all. No tracking number yet.
 
don't worry about it

I suspect almost everyone that ordered when the estimated arrival date was listed as 10/14 will get it on 10/14. You will probably get a shipping notification tomorrow (if they ship 2day) or friday (if they ship overnight). in the end, we really have no control over it. if it comes on 10/14, great, it was delivered as promised. if not, that sucks, i guess we'll have to wait a few more days.

I am a new Verizon customer and all four of my iPhones are showing shipped with tracking.
 
I ordered through my employer AT&T account manager last Friday around 9am, been checking my status and, like everyone else, status is "in progress" and quantity back-ordered also show 1 item. That's this morning.

I just came back from lunch, checked again, now the back-ordered showed 0 quantity, but status still show "in progress" and "pending shipment". It's a working in progress and hope I will receive on time.

Can everybody post their location as their status changes? Im wondering if there is a corellation between 2-day shipping vs overnight and how far one lives from the warehouse ec.

Looked at my credit card statement and there is a pending charge for the $300-ish range from Verizon. WOOT! :)

Unfortunately I can't work from home until Friday in case it comes early but I'll be stalking the mail that day.

Mine has been charged, but still no tracking number from Verizon. Seems that their system is taking awhile to update (I'm order 60xxx, for what it's worth).
