My status just updated to out for delivery - with a time of two hours ago. There is definitely some lag with the status updates.
Still out for delivery here. My iPad deliveries were always quick at our last house. At this new one though, which is literally just down the street, deliveries usually come almost 4 hours later. 
i heard a lot of laughing, i peek out my window and the big fedex truck is outside....are they laughing at me?
the first guy definitely laughed when i bounced out there asking "is it here? is it here?"
he said that there were a lot of packages coming....and coyly said "but i don't KNOW if its the iphone!"
still waiting by the window.....
congrats!....i'm still waiting by the window for fedex guys to sort through the boxes...
I was able to pick one up in stre this morning even though i preordered. They initially told me it was impossible to cancel a pre order after I waited in line for an hour and a half. So I walk out to my car mad, made a quick phone call to verizon support and they promptly canceled my order. I walked back in the store and had a chat with the manager and left with my iphone after a huge hassle. Ugghh...
Delivered at 10:07 .. YAY!
I gotta just say ... I am ashamed of myself for being this impatient. LOL I am usually not at all so childish, but hey it was fun. Good luck to the rest of you, and lets hope we don't all bring the networks down today.

Mine was just delivered to my house, my mom signed for it... Now I'm stuck at school for 2 more hours
Mine's out for delivery. Left a note on the front door asking them to leave it. Don't know if they will (hope they do, our FedEx facility is only open until 6).
Delivered - Activation a pain
Mine got delivered about two hours ago, and I'm just now up and running! - It would not activate over wi-fi so I had to call the Verizon office. They were very friendly however but it still took a while to activate. He said it looked in the system like I had attempted to activate but that there was something wrong with the serial number. He asked me for my serial and IMEI and after a few tests and reboots, I was finally activated. I also wanted to mention he told me "You will get to keep your unlimited data plan, its already carried over" so no hassle there.
I also inquired about getting the GSM unlocked, he said i met the requirements and to unlock it i just needed to insert another SIM card from a foreign carrier and activate that, and then when i got back home re-activate on Verizon then I would be done and it would be permanently unlocked!

They might, it all depends on what you included in your note. I called FedEx customer service last night and asked them what to do since I wouldn't be there to sign. They said you have to call them (like I did) and provide them detailed instructions on where to put the package. Then they said to write a note with the same instructions, also including the account holder's name, shipping address, tracking number, and signature. I taped this note to my door and had no problems, my package is waiting for me when I get home.
EDIT: FedEx also said they are not holding packages for pick-up, so if you miss your delivery you have to wait for the next attempt. Not sure if this is all FedEx facilities, or just my local one. This is what I was told when I called the national customer service line, though.

Thanks for the info! Kinda confused about the whole 'unlocking' thing though... i thought GSM was a network through AT&T? or is GSM the network used when travelling out of the country? also, what requirements do you need to be able to unlock your phone?
