My 6s rose gold has the exact same notification this morning. It says UPS but if I click the link it directs to FedEx and isn't found yet. So I don't think whether it's a 6s or 6s+ has much to do with it. I'm just excited it says "shipped" now.

It takes me to the UPS site, so I assume its UPS? VZW has always shipped via FedEx on my other purchases though? I'm going to try and contact VZW on Thursday and have them place it on a hold for pickup regardless of carrier. I think I was able to do that for my wife's Air 2 I got her last Xmas. I have Salt Lake Comic Con on Fri. and Sat. LOL!!!
It seems all the plus models shipped after the 19th are UPS. I am waiting to see the first scan to see where they are coming from.
You may want to hide a portion of your order and tracking number.

Same here, but if I go to my Verizon it says my shipping courier is UPS sent next day air by 3pm. But if I click the email link I get a blank fed ex page. Oh Verizon..

My FedEx tracking progress is funny. It is like they need to scan the package at least once a day to remind themselves of where it is. It has been sitting in Memphis since Saturday, but it was scanned 5 times in Memphis with descriptions like "Origin Scan", "Left Origin", "Arrived at Facility", "In Transit" and "At Facility". Then on Sunday they scanned it "At Facility" in Memphis again. Today they scanned it "At Facility" and then "In Transit". I thought it was "In Transit" on Saturday. This is going to be a weird week 
My FedEx tracking progress is funny. It is like they need to scan the package at least once a day to remind themselves of where it is. Mine is getting the same treatment. Happened when to my iPhone 6 also. Then, just before delivery day, no activity. Just sat in Memphis. But it magically showed up at my door on time.
My 64GB Space Gray 6s shipped this morning! I only ordered it Sat night. Tracking doesn't show anything yet but its via FedEx. My Plus last year came via UPS.

I woke up to find a tracking number! YAY!!! Mine's shipping via UPS which is really good (UPS is excellent in our area and they usually deliver early mornings which is awesome). The tracking number doesn't have anything in it yet, so I imagine a label was printed or something like that. Anyway, Verizon is saying shipment date is the 24th. Any chance it would actually come the 24th...? lol I highly doubt it but hey, one can wish

Mine is doing the same thing! This is going to be the slowest standard overnight shipment ever.
Would it be possible to set up a tracking document or something (if one hasn't been created yet)?

If that ends up being the case for my shipment, many tears will be shed and I will forever use UPS over FedEx and USPS
(Actually, I'll use anyone over USPS. I sent in my iPhone 5 for a bill credit/gift card last Tuesday and it still says its departed the sorting facility in my city. The expected delivery date was last Friday. If there isn't any movement by tomorrow, a lovely USPS worker will be getting a piece of my mind GRRRR)
Has anyone had any success in changing the FedEx delivery address? I received my tracking number for delivery on the 25th. However, Verizon would only accept the CC billing address (my home address) for the "ship to" address. After spending a very frustrating 15 minutes or so on the FedEx website I finally picked up the phone and talked to FedEx customer support. I was hoping to just have them hold my shipment at their facility and then pick it up after work however they indicated that this was NOT an option. Huh? Really? I guess that the lesson here is to just order from Apple rather than Verizon in the future.
