Sure, we've established that it works fine for you. The point there was that it's not silly to pay more if the cheaper alternative doesn't provide acceptable service for someone, which is unfortunately the case for various people when it comes to T-Mobile.

Absolutely true. I know ppl that have sprint and one that even works for Sprint. Yes they have a cheap price for unlimited everything but what added value is it if you can't use it more often than not? It's like going to the grocery store hungry..complete waste of money buying crap you don't need.

so I've had Verizon unlimited for years and I'm out of contract should I upgrade my iPhone 5 to the 6s and use my 2nd line (dumb phone which is eligible for upgrade) to get the subsidy price like I did when I got my iPhone 5 so I can stay on unlimited for another 2 yrs?

you need to use the upgrade that's on the unlimited to renew the contract. Here's the link for instructions.

But until then, it is a no go...

More like a yes go.

No contracts, super cheap plans, Music Freedom, free upgrades, unlimited everything. It's a pretty amazing deal.

It's outbalances the only negative, which is inferior service to other carriers. And even that is being improved as I said.

No contract = nothing, I am not on contracts and don't care
Super cheap plans = again, nothing...there are NO SIGNALS!
Music Freedom = nothing again...I can guarantee you that they do NOT have my kind of music...
Unlimited everything: Like what? Mind to elaborate a little more?
So far, it is all negative and no positive to me...

Stick to contracts, poor customer service, data throttling, and ridiculous prices with Verizon or AT&T then. Do as you please. I don't care.

Is reading not a part of responding to a conversation anymore...?
I thought I have mentioned clearly that I am "not in contract"
Poor customer service was when I was with Verizon and never had a problem with at&t so far.
Data throttling? No such issue if not grandfathered from unlimited plan and never even cracked 100 MB per month...
Ridiculous prices are for certain providers that have absolutely no receptions where it is needed...
And I am doing as I please, thank you very much.
On the other hand, I have already pointed out that if T-mobile works for you then it is good for you, but you kept on coming back for more...

Typical Verizon move lol been telling the last few members of my family who are holdouts to dump them for years

Is that $30/$50 just for data? How much extra for texts and calls?

Roughly last I heard around $15 to $30 depending upon amount of texts up to UL

And talk/voice ( I.E. Calls )
$30 on up to like $200+
Depending on # of minutes and what was available when you got your plans
Yes this is monthly

How are they legally allowed to do this?

Cause 'Murrica and capitalism

Because having no reception when you need it will certainly be better.

I was month-to-month and used the Best Buy method to get back on contract. Checked my account today and saw that I was back under contract until 10/9/2017 with my unlimited data still there.

Now, my unlimited data is in tact, but it's showing up that I have an upgrade available with a contract end date of 10/9/2015.

Haven't received the phone yet, but did anyone else re-upping through Best Buy encounter this?

What's the $20 discount?

Verizon had offered a $20 discount on data per person on our family share plan about 7 or 8 years ago. I have no clue as to why I was offered this. The letter was not sent to everyone, but, boy was I lucky.

No you never upgrade using the unlimited line or you lose unlimited you upgrade using your dumb phone line and then when the new phone arrives don't turn it on but swap the sim out and put in your existing sim and then activate it on your unlimited line. This is through Verizon's website.

When it's being shipped the "upgrade available" will disappear. I ordered thru Best Buy using the same method.

Incorrect. You will not lose your unlimited data if you swap the new SIM out with your old SIM. The new plan is tied to the SIM. That's why you remove the new SIM with the phone OFF and swap it with the old SIM to void the activation of the new data plan. I can say it does not void your unlimited data because I've upgraded my unlimited data line using the methods from the Slickdeals thread last year. Even if buy thru Verizon's website.

What if I only have one line on my account?

Even if buy thru Verizon's website.
I have two lines with unlimited. I did one with the best buy method and it worked. Now I'm trying to do the other one but it's not letting me transfer the upgrade on bestbuy.com. If I use the VZ website, I'm able transfer the upgrade to another line, my question is when I get the phone do I use the old sim card just like the best buy method?
