Oh wow, I had ordered the iPhone 12 Pro 512GB (Pacific Blue) late on the 16th for a 10/30 delivery date and was surprised to get a shipping notification yesterday that it had been shipped to arrive on Tuesday (10/27). Now today, just a bit ago my dogs started barking - I ignored them but then got a FedEx delivery text. Walked outside to the garage and there it was! It's currently in the process of transferring everything from my current iPhone 11 Pro Max and has three hours to go 🙃.

A bit of a backstory is that while I enjoyed my 11 Pro Max with its ultimate camera features (I do dog sports and use video all the time), it was annoying in every day use due to its size. I ordered the 12 Pro thinking I had a week to hear about others' experience with the camera features and could still cancel in time and just wait 'til the 6th to order the 12 Pro Max. Oops :). At least now I'll have more time to put the 12 Pro camera through its paces before making the final decision to keep the smaller form factor or return it and go with the 12 Pro Max with its incrementally(?) better camera features.

Glad to see most of you all received your devices with more people to receive them soon. Just 11 more days until preorder day for the Pro Max & Mini!

Just 11 more days, can't wait! Going for the pro max but haven't picked the color. I've narrowed down to PB, silver, or gold.

What happened with you? I've swapped sims myself and for others in the past; no upgrade fee. No guarantees tho. Verizon changes policies like people change clothes.

I’ve only been with Verizon for 2 months so if I get charged the activation/upgrade fee even if I buy SIM free, I can’t fight it because I’m a new customer. I’m still going to preorder the 12 Pro Max. Just 11 days left

Hang in there. There's a good chance you won't; if you do, you can *try* complaining. Is that any way to welcome a new customer? Good luck!

I ordered 12P from Apple a few days ago, and delivery est. by mid Nov.

PS: just read about the "connection issue." By swapping SIM card and having a non-unlimited plan, I won't get access to 5G UWB, and I am just fine with that! 😝

I have the old Get More plan and it said it come with 5G. The only reason why I don’t to change to the new Get More plan, is because the old one have 75GB of data vs 50GB with the new one.

You need not anyway, since that 75GB plan has access to the 5G UW network, however, it doesn't include "premium" data. So, there is a higher possibility of getting throttled.

I wasn't sure at first because of the prompts on the Verizon website when ordering the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. I called Verizon they weren't sure either, so I messaged Rory Sykes (he seems knowledgeable about these things and was the one to help me and many others setup Dual SIM originally) and he confirmed it.

I was just in the same situation. When I first signed up for the 75GB Get More plan I asked Verizon 3 times if I get unlimited 5G for low and high band. They all said yes. I read the description over and over and thought I was in the clear for a long time.

Fast forward to last week, I saw a blurb online about how only the new 50GB Get More plans will get you 5G all the time. I thought, get out of here, I did my homework. Well I spoke with Verizon again and here is the difference.

75GB Get More doesn’t have premium 5G data. So although it’s unlimited, if there’s congestion you ‘could’ get throttled.

50GB Get More has 50GB of premium 5G data. Etc etc.

You have to hand it to them, they sure know how to exercise their sleight of hand.

I’m going to do my research to ensure if I want to change to the new Get More plan. I’ve been testing out much data I use and the most I’ve used so far is 25GB. I’m just scared if I go over 50GB they would throttle me if I have the new plan. With T-Mobile I didn’t have that issue and never was throttled when I went over.

TLDR: Husband was able to pick up the Graphite 12 Pro today at a Verizon store. Device is flawless. I set it up, no issues with activation or transfer of information. Applied screen protector, paired Nike Watch. We have 5G signal in our house - at least the 5G status shows, the speeds say otherwise.

Longer version for those who ever need to exchange an unopened, pre-order phone for a different phone:
Saturday husband called into Verizon because of what happened on Friday at the Verizon store. He ended up with someone very knowledgeable who was very clear that the store should be able to do either a refund or an exchange. She gave further instructions to have them process it as an exchange without the trade-in. She said if they weren’t able to do it, have them to call in so they could be assisted by a corporate rep. She even went so far to tell him where he could get phones that were showing in stock that day. Unfortunately, Saturday was busy and by the time we got to the Verizon store (a different one from Friday), they had sold their devices. Husband decides to place a Fortunately this morning, a third Verizon store showed stock of the 256GB Graphite 12 Pro. We arrived 10 minutes before opening, first in line. The device is in stock - great!

Here’s where it gets tricky.

If you have an unopened, pre-order iPhone that you want to exchange for a different iPhone, you can exchange it at a Verizon store. Do not let the store rep tell you that you need to ship the device back before you can get a phone from their stock. They are used to working with straight forward upgrades, purchases, new plans, and, of course, trying to upsell you into something you don’t need.

Normally they should be able to process an exchange or a refund, but there may be an issue when doing a pre-order with a trade-in of an old device (like his XS). The store can not override what the system is saying since the order was made online, but a conversation with the sales channel department who will get the store rep to tech support will fix the issue.

What was the issue? The pre-order date and purchase date of the new device needed to match. The tech support rep did something on their side and directed the store manager to backdate the 12 Pro “order date” from today’s date to the date for when the pre-order was made which was the 16th.

The store rep, who was really frazzled after trying it his way for so long and then after all of the phone time with 2 other internal Verizon reps, didn’t think it would work, but it did. The manager made the override and the system was happy. Husband paid $44 for activation and tax and walked out with the iPhone he wanted.

I set up the device, applied screen protector, slapped on his clear case. He’s enjoying it now.

Ordered on 10/16, got mine on Friday. Were you ever charged for it? If not, you may want to call them, as your card may have declined it.

Will the Pro Max go on preorder right at 12:01am or will it be 3am like it was with the iPhone and iPhone Pro?
