Isn't this worse that the 450 they give you for opening a new line under a BYOD? This is what has been confusing me about Verizon's 'deals'.
This seems to happen every year where there are discrepancies between what the app says, vs what the website says. Sounds like you should be good to go, though. I've ordered from both and I think the app tends to be a little smoother. I paid my 11 Pro off a few months ago and I think I'm going to buy straight from Apple this time. Good luck to everyone!! I have both my kids through Apple (although I don't upgrade them yearly!) but despite my plans (pay off early, sell phone aftermarket and move to the Apple plan) I always get lazy every year and the preorder creeps up on me and the "easy" solution is to just use Verizon again. I also have had good luck (knock on wood) getting quick preorders in when sometimes Apple.com / Apple Store is letting people down and locking up.
Based on some responses on the Verizon subreddit, it looks like it is only going to be available for select customers. I wouldn't count on it showing up and would plan for a regular order tomorrow.
I've currently only seen one person on reddit confirm that they have access to Verizon Get Ready for iPhone 12. that was three hours ago. Here
If at 7pm, my time so 1.5 hrs it still doesn’t show up then I’m giving up on that.
I think mybest play is to have two windows open: one for apple, one for Verizon. Try Verizon first because I want to see if I can use the device bucks.

I was able to get help from a Verizon specialist on chat. Hoping they were giving accurate info, but said that any of the Mix and Match unlimited plans (Start, Play More, Do More, Get more) are "eligible plans" for the Verizon trade in special. I hope they were right. I was on an old plan not offered anymore (Go Unlimited) for $80 a month so I switched to the Play More unlimited ($80 a month) tonight so hopefully it will be smooth sailing through the apple store app tomorrow morning.
I second stagemama's question - does anyone know if the trade in is done through apple or verizon in this scenario? I would assume it's through apple since I am ordering through apple but it's a Verizon special deal so I am not sure. Hopefully no issues!

Honestly, it shouldn’t matter one bit if the trade in is through apple or Verizon. You’ll likely get an email and a shipping label with instructions on how to package it and where it’s going.
well, the Verizon app was updated with the iPhone 12 and 12 pro preorder information. Basically just the same as apple’s site. I may actually just sell it third party. I can get a bit more money according to quotes. Saves me the hassle of choosing which site I want to use.
Can someone tell me if they know if we use the upgrade with Verizon that we have ability to get a new phone in 12 months like we can with Apple? I’m new to Verizon and via the app I can set up the order etc. I am holding off until the max anyways but am curious. Thx.
Yes, according to Verizon (at least in the past) as long as the device is half way paid off &(?) past 12 months from original purchase date, then you can trade in and up.
So I’m using the Verizon app and I selected the deal to get up to $440 off of trade in. However, I’m only getting $379 off. It’s a 256 GB XS Max. According to Apple’s website, the Verizon deal should give me the full $440 off. Any clue as to why?
FYI, I get the full $440 on two other X’s and a regular XS I’m trading in. Just not the XS Max.

Edit: I just decided to go with three upgrades where I got the correct trade amount and will try Apple’s website in the morning. I selected the option to let Verizon place the order when it preorders open, but not sure it’s going to work. Now that it’s past 10 PM EST, I don’t have any record of the order on my account and received no email confirmation...

Anyone else having issues in the app where it won’t let a device return and upgrade? It’s stating I have to pay $524 in order to upgrade, Verizon support says it’s an error that they’re not seeing and I can return and upgrade through the desktop app, yet I want to use the app.
I used my computer to check and the option to pay 50% of your device to upgrade was shown. I guess it don’t show that way through the app.
same for me regarding Verizon ordering for me once preorders open up...no confirmation at all. Not sure what to do in the morning. Wait or try to order and sort it out later???
That’s me. I will get up to make sure everything processed, but not sure how we will know. I don’t want to try and place another order just to screw up the one that will hopefully be placed by the system.
Same, says "Your new iPhone is waiting. It's all set. If you chose to have us check out for you, your order will process when pre-orders begin."
Just went on the app and it essentially let me checkout without completing. Had an option to allow them to place the order for me but I filled in the details.
I’m not sure. I’m not opening a new line....I paid $200 for my SE so I’m not losing money.
Looks like I have the option to setup my order and then just have to hit submit. Says up to $440 in trade in! I have an iPhone X to trade in so we will see
