I am kinda confused. Knowing my 14 Pro Max is arriving today, I've taken a closer look at some of the unboxing and setup YouTube posts. It looks like I am seeing a SIM tray device in the box? But these phones have no SIM tray. What is that in the box? I've seen this on more than one unboxing. Then on other videos I don't see it. Here is one where I see it at about 1:25.

Most likely YouTubers in countries outside of the good ole USA. Countries like Canada have sim trays in their 14s
You would realize it was 13 based on the notch. Hmm I have no answer to your question though
Oh that would make sense except I've found some that are obviously USA like this one at about 2:30.
Around 3:30 you can see the price tag on the case. It says “C$” so it’s 🇨🇦

Well I will know what my box has very soon cause I just received the "Out for Delivery" notice from FedEx! Super excited.
Yea!!! It arrived. I ordered yesterday and received today!! This only happened because I changed my order to the only configuration Verizon does not have back ordered: The 14 Pro Max 256GB Gold. I then requested overnight delivery. Ordered and received within 24 hours.

Ok I had an issue with my home Wifi while setting up and had to leave things alone and go to band rehearsal. I am just now finishing set up. Yes it says the the SIM is locked. I've only transferred the data from my 12 Pro Mx to my 14 Pro Max and have not activated the 14 Pro Max with Verizon yet. I will see if I can do this at this late hour and see if that unlocks it. I might have to wait until tomorrow if I need Verizon's assistance because it's late at night. I'll let you know.
UPDATE: Activating with Verizon was a snap. Signed into Verizon account and a page was there with all the info for the new phone loaded and a big ACTIVATE button. I pressed it and presto, the new phone works.
However, the SIM is still locked. I've read that Verizon unlocks after 60 days and I believe that was my experience in the past.

I got charged last night and I have a tracking number as well! I didn’t get any email, but I checked Verizon account and it was there.
Finally got a tracking number. Most likely will arrive on Tuesday (my guess). Out of town til Friday so won’t have it in these hands until then
Received my 14 pro max Friday. So far I am enjoying it. Was extremely simple to set up. Now to learn some of the new features. Lol!!!
