Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

I ordered on the business site at 0707 on the 14th. I ordered a 64gb black. On the web site it lists my order as awaiting inventory with the expected delivery date of 09/21. No tracking number or carrier info. It has been the same since my initial order with no change. Was hoping to see some tracking info but nothing so far.

im in the exact same boat as you.... this stupid flip phone is the worst... i dont know how we dealth with these things before our savior Mr. Jobs gave us his only begotten iPhone

I was talking about your order location #, the order # obviously has nothing to do with it unless you are from the same location... then it might.

Ya I'm in the same boat haha. Are phones are probably together. I have a feeling we might get ours on the 20th
 
I'm in the same location (D771001)- located in central NJ. Got my order in a minute or two before 3am on 9/14. Ordered the black 64GB iPhone 5 through Verizon Wireless. My status remained in "processing" until it finally changed to "your order has been sent for processing" as of last night, at which point my credit card was then billed for the entire amount of the purchase. Status then changed to "shipped" sometime this afternoon. Shipping is through FedEx.

EDIT: Forgot to add... for those hoping to get the phone earlier because of your proximity to the distribution/shipping center- it's not gonna happen. They will hold everyone's phones until the 21st (those that made it through the 21st shipping cutoff date). Only way you'll get yours early would be due to an error, and the chances of that happening are very small.
 
I am switching over from AT&T and I requested that my numbers be ported to VZW when I ordered (and entered my AT&T password). Does anyone know how that works? I have my tracking number and set for deliver on Friday. How long before the number is switched over. Having never switched providers and numbers, I don't know what to expect. Will my iPhone 4 suddenly not work and I have to wait for the iPhone 5 to become active? Any experience from anyone last time around?

Just called VZW to verify my CC info was accurate as I was having some issues with number pad on my keyboard. Anyway I was told that my order is still pending and card has not been charged yet. She said if any issues arose with my CC I would get an email and it would not affect 'My place in line'. I would just have to call in to address the issue and the order would process.

My location is D771001. I was able to verify my CC info with her which was good. Now just waiting for the email.

Hope everyone else who is expected to get theirs on 9/21 has no issues.

I went to a Verizon store after work on Friday, one of the reps told me that once the phone comes in, you just turn it on, it'll activate and boom, done. Obviously your other phone will no longer work, but seems like it will be very painless. I'm also switching from AT&T.

i THINK all that stuff is processed at the time of the phones activation, and even then you will have about an hour of ghosting, wherein both phones will be active on the same number

I am doing the same thing. I had called last Friday and was told that when I get the phone I can activate it and the number should port within 4 hours. So you will want to have both phone with you for some time.

Everyone I have encountered, myself included, ordering through the corporate site is in the same boat.
 
So I pre-ordered super late. Like 9:30pm last night (9/17) so I'm not expecting mine until Oct. 5th. I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about possible earlier deliveries for people that pre-ordered late or if you've heard anything about even later delays.

I sold my iPhone 4 and I've been using a Casio flip phone and it's driving me crazy!
 
I ordered a black 32GB phone on the VZW site at a little after 8 AM EST on Friday, location D772001, and I'm still seeing: "We received your order and it is in process. Expected Ship Date: 09/21/2012."
 
There has been debate as to whether it is possible that a few deliveries could slip through the cracks. I highly doubt this would happen. But, hypothetically......

Say some people have a FedEx shipment that falls through the cracks and manages to get delivered tomorrow or Thursday. Would they even be able to activate it. For those coming from 3G phones, the SIM has to be added to the account in order to work with your new phone. Considering this will be a nanoSIM and no other phones use a nano SIM, would Verizon's systems even allow activation before Friday? If someone gets a phone early, it may be a brick until actual launch day when Verizon gets everything online. Assuming that SIM and microSIMs are treated differently than nanoSIM.

Just a random thought while I waste time waiting for Friday.

Samsung Fascinate. So buggy and beat up. I tapped on the Instagram app yesterday and it opened google maps. No joke. Can't wait for my first iPhone.

Ordered my 64gb Black at 8:30am Central on Friday. Still reads 9/21 but no info yet.

Thank you and thanks to soxmandan above you. I think I last had a CDMA phone in about 2002 - you used to have to take them in to the store to change phones or numbers or whatever.

if you get the phone early, it will work just fine

I have seen nothing come out D772001 all day. I am also on that order center. I am so ready for some sort of good activity.
