The Radio Shack I ordered from yesterday still has Verizon phones available for Friday pick up as of 455pm ET.No AT&T or Sprint though.And no I don't want to hear about "what happened last year" with RS.Different system this year.
Then I don't know if something changed, but she told me that for sure my phone was going to stop working tonight

As most of you on here, I'm excited to get my very first iPhone ever. I'm fine with it arriving on Friday.
However, as luck would have it, I'll be leaving for the airport at 9am Friday to fly to SF for work for a week.....arrrgh!!
I had no idea that the phone would be delivered on the same day. Highly unlikely it'll get delivered before 9am and FedEx already told me that:
1) My package is being held until the 19th before it'll be in actual "transit" It'll be held in Memphis until then.
2) Verizon, as most of you noted, has specific instructions not to hold it at the sorting facility and that they have to attempt delivery of the package.
I'll just try to breathe easy and relax...I guess an additional week really won't kill me...or would it? lol
I am jealous of you guys who have tomorrow or Thursday as the delivery date. In my case I could've really used it....sigh
Enjoy the phone! I hope to see mine as soon as I land on the 28th Friday.

Just called my local Radio Shack and they said that they're still taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5 but they have no idea when the phones will actually come in.

My order confirmation email stated "Thank you for your order. It is being processed and you will receive notification once it has shipped." But no further emails or bank account activity. It states 9/21/12 on the order confirmation.
My question: I am moving from AT&T, do you think there are delays in processing my order while Verizon waits on AT&T to release the phone number? Are others who moved from AT&T having a similar experience?
I'm still confident I'll receive it on 9/21/12 as promised.

If that were the case, then why would they tell you to backup your old phone just before activating the other? Besides, they told me they could switch the new phone to my line without ever interrupting the other line....which means it has to be working.

Should I worry about not receiving my phone on friday if I don't get a sent to processing confirmation by the end of today?
Also coming from AT&T and mine has shipped. They will continue to assign tracking numbers through tomorrow night. I wouldn't worry about it at this point.
I've got the same location # and I haven't received anything yet. Spoke to Verizon last night and they confirmed everything's a go. So we'll see what happens.
My order was processed on 9/14 at 5:46AM PT. location code W779001. 32GB white iPhone 5.
So far off. The phones are in Verizon's warehouse and not Apples. The 4 and 4s both had people getting them early. I understand that Apple puts an official release date of the 21st, but most times, preordering can get you a phone early. History has shown this to be true with even Apple products.

I've never heard of this happening. If anyone else has, please chime in. Too many things could go wrong, phone not come in, not work out of the box, and then you would have no phone. Besides, they wouldn't leave you for two days without service.
