Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

My order is shipped and will hopefully come before the 21st, but for some reason my CC has 4 pending charges for the phone. Anyone else with this problem? Don't think its the CC company's fault because this hasn't happened before.

Ordered mine on Friday at 3am, the next day I received to emails, one was a pending order confirmation due to the credit check, then later an order confirmation with $125 deposit. Last night I received 2 emails stating that the order has been placed on hold pending payment of the deposit. I called and spoke with the lady and she said that the payment went through and that I should receive an email stating the shipping info soon. I immediately received an email titled 'Internet order update' that said the order has been completed and shipped. This email has my new Verizon phone number Ashley, however I have yet to receive a shipping confirmation and tracking number, and the order stays on the website says the order has been received but no payment made.
I asked if the hold would affect my place in line or move my shipping date to later and she said no it wouldn't.
Has anyone experienced this?

I say again....error or rules broken. There is NO document that says FedEx can deliver phones early if they want to. There is no document that says FedEx can release a Verizon phone early. You can bet your sweet A** there are documents that say DO NOT DELIVER before the 21st.
Is WBA why bother adding? If so, it is a group add to all phones. You are requesting a future delivery date, but there is no guarantee it will be done.

As most of you on here, I'm excited to get my very first iPhone ever. I'm fine with it arriving on Friday.
However, as luck would have it, I'll be leaving for the airport at 9am Friday to fly to SF for work for a week.....arrrgh!!
I had no idea that the phone would be delivered on the same day. Highly unlikely it'll get delivered before 9am and FedEx already told me that:
1) My package is being held until the 19th before it'll be in actual "transit" It'll be held in Memphis until then.
2) Verizon, as most of you noted, has specific instructions not to hold it at the sorting facility and that they have to attempt delivery of the package.
I'll just try to breathe easy and relax...I guess an additional week really won't kill me...or would it? lol
I am jealous of you guys who have tomorrow or Thursday as the delivery date. In my case I could've really used it....sigh
Enjoy the phone! I hope to see mine as soon as I land on the 28th Friday.
you should call your fedex facility - the hub it will be coming out of and ask if they can hold it there for you to pick up 1st thing in the morning - if you tell them the situation, they might let you do that. It depends on how nice the person is on the phone, but it's worth a shot!
And you can bet that "Requested" is different than setting a date delivered. You can request a future delivery on any package, but it is not guaranteed. If you had thousands and thousands of products to deliver and someone told you they must be there Friday only you might be a little overwhelmed. They stager for a reason. Show me the official doc from Apple that says Verizon will be dropped or sued if a few phones make it a day or two early LMFAO. Come on guy...recent history shows this to be a fact.
If Verizon wanted to assure the 21st with 100% accuracy they would have shipped them overnight and released them on Thursday.
My iPhone 4 was delivered a day early by FedEx. They don't always follow the rules of holding them.
Exactly. Anyone on the forums gonna call Apple and tell them that they are upset because Fedex delivered their phone early LOL

Hey guys do you need to buy applecare when you purchase the phone or do you have some time to purchase it separately. I have insurance on the iPhone 5 i ordered on verizon, but do you guys think thats enough or should I also get applecare ?

I can only answer for other Apple products. With my Macs etc I have until the later end of the warranty (I Believe) to purchase it.

dump the insurance plan with Verizon. it's CRAP.... they charge you 12-15 monthly, and then when anything happens they charge you another 160 to replace the phone.... do Apple Care or Best Buy.... best buy will replace it for free as long as you can bring it to them. if you have it stolen i'm not sure what their policy is... not sure about apple care with stolen products, BUT if your iPhone is stolen, it's really easy to track it down via iCloud. I use Best Buy.... I will never use Verizon insurance again.
When I ordered the iPhone 4 it came a day early and my date says the 20th so I'm sure I will get it then!!

Actually the more I think about this the more I ask this. How does Fedex know that package out on the truck is an iPhone? Yes, there are tons of iPhone deliveries happening, but there are also people on the forums that ordered cases, headsets etc from Verizon. The people delivering your package do not know the contents unless it is on the package. So, they only have a requested future delivery like anyone else can request.
I pre-ordered my iPhone 5 through the vzw website. Am i still able to get an insurance plan with best buy ? and thanks for the advice!
oh they know the contents.... they have a zillion customers going "IM EXPECTING AN IPHONE 5 ON FRIDAY SO LOOK OUT FOR IT"

I ordered the phone at 3:15am est on the preorder date and my Verizon still says "We received your order and it is in process. Payment not taken yet" and it doesn't have an expected ship date or anything... I'm worried that I'm going to get screwed and not get the first batch of preorders. I am in New Jersey FWIW.

I too am switching over to Verizon, but I just ordered it with a new phone number instead of porting from my current phone which is still active.
So my question is... Will I be able to port my number over AFTER I get the phone? I don't see why not.
