Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

I have a feeling they may be shipping them out to local facilities now so that nothing happens last-minute Thursday night that keeps them from being able to ship them from Memphis.
Mine is in this state as well... I have my CC charged, but no tracking info yet.
Don't expect iphone 5 delivery by 3pm on Friday
I spoke with FedEx yesterday looking for more information, and really trying to see if I could find a way to have delivery on Thursday or early on Friday. Not happening! My delivery status changed early yesterday morning to "shipped" with a FedEx tracking number (I ordered two phones, one 32GB and one 64GB). I called because my tracking information says overnight shipping, and that it was shipped from Memphis, TN yesterday. So, overnight puts it at my door by Wednesday or Thursday, right? WRONG! The agent I spoke to says that Apple has directed FedEX (and probably UPS as well) to hold all packages at my local FedEx sorting center (about 10 minutes from my house). But here is my dilemma. I work until after 3pm and the package requires signature. First, the agent told me that FedEx is waiving all promises on the 3pm deal for this shipment because they have so many iphones going out on Friday and that they have authoriztion from Apple to not meet the 3pm deadline (I'm sure they want to meet the 9/21/12 delivery date deadline more than a specific time of day). The Agent next told me that specific instrutions per Apple were "Indirect Signature Required". That means I have a few options.
1. Leave a note on my door before I leave for work on Friday with my signature, the tracking number and instructions on where to leave the package.
2. Miss the package, sign the release form, then hope to be home on Monday when they deliver. The agent said that FedEx might not have deliveries on Saturdays, as the 3pm deadline on 9/21/12 has passed by then and with so many packages, they might not go out until Monday. Not happy about this "maybe" delivery option.
3. I "might" be able to call FedEx after missing Friday's delivery to request that I pick up at my local FedEx sorting station Friday night, although specific instructions from Apple might not allow that. I was told to call back this afternoon to see if Apple has instructed FedEx to allow this or not, but as of yesterday afternoon, this was not an option per Apple. "Indirect Signature Required" does not allow signature/pickup from a local sorting station, per the FedEx rep I spoke with yesterday.
SO, long story short (too late for that), if you are not going to be home on Friday, you have a few options. If you feel safe having FedEx leave your iphones on your porch or other location at your home, you should be good to go, but don't expect the 3pm deadline to happen... Otherwise, leave a note and hope for the best, or hope for a Saturday delivery if you feel like waiting home all day for your iphone 5...

Well now I'm pissed...
I still have zero tracking information on my phone and now I'm getting a "Your order has been sent for processing" with no expected ship date. This changed from yesterday when it was 9/21 as promised.
I've called Verizon twice in the last two days and they still cannot get me information on what is going on. My credit card has still not been charged.

Mine says "Your order has been sent for processing" and I have no ship date listed anymore.. still no shipping number. I just called the location where I placed the order at 7 a.m. on Friday and they told me that I should already have a shipping number.

yeah, i was worried at first, called fedex they said they have the locations, they just had so many to sort they didnt add them to the online tracking.

Yup.... Just got off the phone with FedEx... The iPhones will be delivered Friday by 8PM. The Representative said the shipper put in the system to not deliver before the 21st, that is why you see the tracking being bounced around TN. Sign...
there are two status pages one wouldnt show my ship date, one did. not sure, try them both. the second link will more than likely give you an error at first, just try 5-6 times sometimes. but it works.

This is normal. FedEx has their main logistics center in Tennessee. Large shipments like this get staged in a FedEx main warehouse and go out to distribution centers from there.
Easier to bring millions of units into the main location and then go from there. It's called logistics
Also, one of Apple's largest logistics warehouses in the United States is located in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
It's managed by a company called OHL.

The status "Your order has been sent for processing" with everything else blanked out is actually good news. It means they're getting your order ready to go out the door and it shouldn't be long (it was 8 hours for me, 3 hours for another person) before you get tracking information.
If your credit card website shows pending transactions/authorizations, you should see one now, or your available credit line should be adjusted accordingly. The actual charge of course will not post for several days.
I've checked both. The first is giving me "Your order has been sent for processing" with no ship by date... the second link is telling me "Your order will ship by 9/21/2012"
It also is very sad that when you call Verizon and you tell them you're supposed to get the phone by Friday the prior two times I've called they've told me "no! your order SHIPS on Friday"... I've had to correct them both times.

per fedex verizon and apple you can pick it up at the local sorting hub after 1 failed attempt to deliver. hubs are open on saturday too. The driver will leave a door tag with the time it will be back at the hub

Had pending charge to my AMEX last night and received shipping confirmation a few minutes ago so it looks as the N215401 locations are now moving. Great to have this thread to keep things interesting.

EVERYONES is. they have your destination in the system. call fedex to verify if it will ease your mind
Got some even more Info. Called my bank to make sure the vzw charge wasnt denied. She said she noticed a charge about to come through from vz for 359. She said it came through yesterday evening. Sweet!!!! Hope It'll get shipped today or tomorrow.
