I must have gotten lucky! I just preordered my 32gb iPhone on VZW website. It said below the cost, expected ship date: 9/26. I was okay with that date. But, now I checked my order status and it says expected ship date: 9/21 and my order confirmation email says deliver by 9/21 :cool:

Oh yeah...I got to keep my unlimited data plan as well. I renewed my wifes line and VZ said I can swap the phones and I will NOT lose my unlimited data plan. She wants my 4s anyway. So its a win win for me!

So I'm a bit confused about how to keep my unlimited data. I thought I could just transfer the upgrade from one line to my line, but that seems to get rid of unlimited data for me. If I understand this right, I order the phone on the line that's eligible for the upgrade, then when it arrives, take it to the Verizon store to have it switched to my number, and then my data will be intact?

Based on my experience, that should work. They don't care what device is what line (as long as they are both smart phones).

I pre-ordered mine (32GB black) around 7:20AM PT. The order screen said "Delivery by 9/21". By the time I checked out, my email receipt says "Deliver by 9/26". The online status screen "Expected ship date: 9/21". So we'll see. :p
 
That was not the case with mine. I was able to ship to a different address. Were you starting new service? I think if you're starting new service you don't have the option to ship to a different address.

No i'm using a friends account to use his subsidized upgrade, but I want the phone shipped to my address so I had to change the billing address on his account...

Verizon.com keeps forgetting the apartment number on my billing address....

I have called verizon and they can't answer the question I have asked. Why is my order showing we've received your order and is waiting to be processed. This order was played at 1:02am MST while my other order which I paid in full was played at 1:10am MST and is showing me a ship date.

How is a phone ordered before my other phone not showing as processed and ready to ship? Crazy. Kind of frustrating, hopefully it will sort itself out in the coming days. I really wanted my wife to have her phone on launch day, but at this moment it doesn't look that way. I guess I could always give her mine till she gets her phone.

I ordered at a VZ store - I am tracking my order and all it shows is the order number & tracking number. Where are you seeing a ship date?

From what I understand, if you have an Unlimited Plan and you use someone else's upgrade, as long as they activate and deactivate the phone, Verizon doesn't care what phone you attach to that line. You can attach a basic phone to it and cancel the data plan. I've just been told by several reps that you have to make sure that the iPhone is initially activated on the line it was ordered on and then deactivated before you put it onto an account that has unlimited data.
 
I'm a new Verizon customer, ordering 2 iPhones. I placed my order within the first 30 minutes.

Got an email at 2:35 AM (Pacific) asking me to call them:
Our Credit Review Department has requested further information from you.
Called 'em, waited on hold for about 20 minutes, gave them my SSN (which they had asked for during the order process). Hung up, received another email at 8:22 AM:
Our Financial Services Department has requested additional information
Called them back, waited on hold for about 20 minutes, guy didn't understand why I was asked to call them. I was told that my phone would arrive on the 26th, but the preorder status page says it's still due to ship on the 21st like everyone else's.

No idea what's going on.
Got an update on this.

Apparently my credit was approved after my first call. When they update something in the system, sometimes it sends out another verification email. So it appears to be just a glitch.

The site still says I'm on track for the 21st, so here's hoping.

Where are you seeing your order on Verizon's website and the date it is shipped? I've checked on my order status and all it shows is the order number and a blank tracking number.
 
Hmmm, when I ordered it said 9/26 and now the order status says 9/28.

I also received an email to verify some info from Verizon (I had to call them).
 
Any US folks that ordered through Verizon's site NOT get their card auth'd? I got a confirmation number, order shows when I check status, but my card has not been authorized.

My card has been authorized, but for $0.00. I have never seen this before! :confused:
 
I think many of us will spend the next week being paranoid ;) At least we have our own little support group here as long as we can ignore the flamers...

No doubt. I will be happy for a moment when my card is charged and then the paranoia will begin again until I am holding my new black 32gb 5 in my hand! I am sick.

I ordered the Black & Slate 64GB iPhone 5 last night at 3:15am EST and it said delivery by 9/21, but when I check my order status right now, it says the estimated ship date is 9/21. Anyone have any clue? I'm still assuming delivery should be by 9/21 since I did the pre-order pretty early, but I just wanna make sure.

Once again, don't worry about this! The wording is crap and this freaks everyone out, it did it last year too. Your phone will arrive on the 21st.

Graciás, señor. I'm new to the whole pre-order process since I've never done it before. I talked to a lady at Verizon on the phone yesterday afternoon and she said they were telling people estimated delivery was 9/19-9/21 for the first wave. Is it actually possible that we could get it before it's in stores?
