Updated to iOS6 hoping to get a working iPhone 4 back with an email from Verizon, but nope. Still showing in process with a 9/21 expected delivery date. No charge on the card either. Things are not looking good.

Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

I think it depends...they fly them in close to RDU don't they? If they say you're getting it on Friday you will...they have this stuff pretty well figured outI think the nearest FedEx Depot is in Durham. I recently had a package delivered to Chapel Hill and the most recent status update was out for delivery —Durham, NC.
So I don't think I'll be getting my phone until 12-1I was hoping to pick it up at 10-11ish before class. *sigh*

The 5S will not be announced in March.

My order has shipped and is currently in NJ, before it comes to me in NY. I called FedEx today to see about holding it at my location so I could just go pick it up first thing in the morning instead of waiting for it to come out for delivery. The girl, who really seemed to know her stuff, said that these are specifically restricted not to be held, until a first delivery attempt is made. There goes that idea for anyone who wont be home for delivery on friday. =[
Also while on the phone, she said that I can expect it to sit in NJ until late tonight, or mid tomorrow before it moves closer. Their contract for these with Verizon, and one other company require them to do that so that there is no chance of them slipping out early for delivery. She also said that they were held in bins in groups based on location, and kept separate from all other packages. She said that this is a process they normally do not use, but the contract is so strict they have to take those measures.

Yeah that is what I was figuring was happening...so I guess all the tracking information we are seeing online is either them moving the bins around or regrouping them by destination so they are good to go when they eventually do leave the hubs.

I'll def pass on that iPhone 5s stuff lol, it'll look exactly the same with what, a better camera and maybe iOS 7? I'll just update my 5 with that and call it day.
Call the internet order department at 1-866-338-7390 to switch it, this way you can be safe.
Verizon still says "We received your order and it is in process. Expected Ship Date: 10/05/2012"

I ordered at a store with the advice from a Verizon rep, and my shipping date is 9/26.
Haha I have no idea sorry...I don't work for Apple or Verizon just using past experiences and logic. Next week is pushing it but maybe. You might see it the week after that as in a few days before the 5th. They always overestimate the shipping date that way if you get it before everyone is happy but if you don't get it till the 5th all they say is we told you so.Is that a high chance I'll get it next week? i was talking about this year too.. ipad 3, fedex, and the other day when the fedex reps told me its allowed to pick it up.

I ordered my 32 GB black 4:15am EST on the 14th. It just left FedEx origin facility in Coatseville, Pa around noon.

I've been calling VZW all week and getting the same BS "it's fine you'll hear from us by the end of today... tomorrow at the latest"... called and talked to a guy who said WTF is wrong with this order... i'll track it down and call you back in 10 minutes... He also said they're getting a lot of these errors and have had between 100-200 calls in que... I ended up talking to someone with in 5 minutes of dialing.

When the 3GS launched I got mine around 10:00AM. When the 3rd gen iPad launched it was after 7:00PM. Every year it seems to get later and later. I'd take 12-1 in a heartbeat.
I'm hoping that our dates not changing is a good thing- maybe we're really still in line versus being bumped.
damn that sucks i got my ipad 3 at 9:30 Am i think it was due to me having it shipped to my office. I think businesses get shipping sooner?
