Here's my situation. Just got the fedex tracking number (phone just left PA for delivery tomorrow) to have the phone delivered to my work address in jersey city tomorrow. The thing is I am now working from home in queens. I already called verizon right away to put in a delivery change request but can I just call fedex to have it changed or do they need to wait for verizon to give them the go ahead.

Also if it does get updated in fedex's system in the next few hrs to have the delivery go to my home address in Queens, what are people's thoughts of me still getting it tomorrow.

Fedex won't change it for you, they have to hear it from verizon.

If it gets updated tonight you should get it tomorrow
 
Thinking about getting up early tomorrow morning and going to wait in line at a small Verizon store near me. I don't think a lot of people will be going there but who know?! I'm gonna scope it out tonight. This thread has got me so excited and I can't see myself waiting until the 5th for mine, especially since I'm stuck with a "dumb" phone until I get the iphone 5.
 
fyi to everyone that doesnt have tracking info yet i found that if i check my status at http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/orderstatus/OrderStatusForm and use the over the phone tab then it gives me a tracking number... the other links that people have been showing still have nothing yet for me but this way actually gives me a tracking number :D

"We are experiencing technical difficulties, please check back later" is what I just got lol. how lovely...:mad:

verizon told me if they change the address it can push the delivery back to monday. the other said its not possible at all to change on the iphone. maybe the csrs were wrong idk
 
My iPhone is on it's way however the apt number was left out. When I called Verizon last Saturday about this, they couldn't add apt number. The only thing Verizon rep could do is cancel my pre order. I told them to keep my pre order .

So today I called FedEx about this and they told me that they can't do anything. FedEx rep said to call Verizon. But as I said Verizon wasn't that much helpful either. Now I'm not sure what to do.

I'm hoping that if I print out a copy of my shipping confirmation and post it on the door or something (or maybe I can catch the FedEx guy haha) they'll give me my package :( My other options would be to pick it up from the hub tomorrow night, or hold out hope that FedEx will deliver it to the leasing office.

That is what I am hoping, I also saw that shipment info was just sent to fedex around 12:45pm EST according to the fedex tracking page, which is alittle after the time I talked to verizon internet sales support to have the delivery address changed.

wrong call fedex, they left the apt off my roommates and he called. Fedex can put a note in the system for the driver to see. The rep even said call the hub when they get it and they can put a new label on it if i dont trust him to read the notes.

:eek: Why didn't I think of that? :eek: Thank you! I'll give the local hub a call later. Shame on Verizon for chopping apartment numbers willy nilly

Would you suggest calling 800 number or directly to local hub?
 
I dont hold out much hope anymore for getting mine tomorrow... every date I got says 9/26 even though my order confirmation came through at 11:06AM EST, I haven't seen any CC activity and no tracking of any kind.:(

Same thing with me. I called Verizon and they said they are "escalating this to shipping" but I don't know what that means. If I don't hear anything by close of business i'm canceling my order and going to my nearest Apple Store to wait in line by around 8PM.

Ordering through Verizon has been an absolute nightmare.

Hate having to say this... but call back until you get a rep that knows more. Keep in mind, when you make a change like this, it can delay your order. You may not receive it until next week.

I had a similar problem, because Verizon added "ATTN: [name]" to my shipping address but completely screwed up the name. I work in a building that has a mail office that will reject packages if names don't match an employee, so I had to go through similar steps. But a late iPhone is better than a rejected iPhone.

Anyway, I also have experience with FedEx trouble-tickets. From the reps point of view, the only "option" they have on the screen is "change address". And if you only change the recipient's name or just add an apartment number but leave the street address the same the change gets rejected.

To get around this, explain that you'd like to add a company name. Add a name like "VZW Destroyers, Inc." and have them also add the apartment number while they make this change. That should allow the change to go through to FedEx.
