Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

Another piece of helpful information, if you are going to be at work from morning till evening, next time have them ship it to your work place. Fedex and Ups deliver to businesses first then homes... You will get it faster that way.

I am in a situation where I will not be able to sign for the package when it gets delivered tomorrow. So I tried to use the "Hold at Location" feature on the tracking page of my shipment. But that said "Hold at FedEx Location service is not available for this shipment". I called FedEx just a few minutes ago and spoke with a representative, and she said they could hold it for me. So now I plan on going when I get a moment during work to pick it up.

i bet they are holding it at the location AFTER they try to deliver it.
I spoke with 4 reps and all 4 said they cant do it. They tried to and the system wont allow it. Verizon requested 1 delivery must be attempted.

I'd double check if you are planning on going tomorrow at 8 and getting it.

I ordered an AT&T phone and a Verizon phone, so I've been following both threads. AT&T does have more problems (and in my case, the phone isn't being delivered for 14-21 business days even though the order was placed well before 9 a.m. PST on the 14th (which AT&T said is the cutoff for 9-21 delivery)).

true, but verizon didn't allow most people to change the address from billing
 
Guys, quick question: I have a delivery by 3PM tomorrow, but how early does FedEx start delivering? I want to hop out and get another one at an Apple Store for my sister, do you think I'll have time to get home? I'd hate to miss the delivery of one iPhone while trying to get another.

Mine is p340101. My status keeps saying freaking 9/26, but my Verizon rep (really helpful, but I'm not sure I believe him) says that on "his end" of the computer it says that it'll be there tomorrow. I don't know what to do. He said to text him at 7 tomorrow morning and he will have a tracking number by then. I don't know how though. Does that sound possible or is he just trying to keep my hopes up?

I read somewhere on their website that overnight shipments usually get delivered from 8 -10 am buy they have that 3pm just incase

Well, as nice of a sibling as that makes you, people started lining up outside of apple stores on Tuesday. How long do you think that makes the line by now? I'm not sure even if you went to the store, you'd make it inside by 3, let alone the buying/setting up process.
 
Just called internet support and although I got my confirmation e mail at 11:06am eastern they said my order didn't go through until 11:39am and that I will indeed get the phone on 9/26 and not 9/21... I'm sad now

You should since most home deliveries are later rather than earlier.

I still haven't received a shipping confirmation email but I did log into Verizon and could see my tracking number. My phone is in Memphis with an estimated delivery of 9/21/12. I ordered at 8:37am est.
Keep hoping for info for you guys!

Awesome! You just gave me my first sigh of relief since I started this whole process! Not to ask the same thing that has been asked over and over and over, but I am correct to still believe that no one will recieve their package before tomorrow? I am showing a delivery date of today by 3:00

Phone 1 updated to "Sent for processing" yesterday AM along with charge to my CC. At that time, the Expected Ship Date disappeared. As of this AM, still no tracking info (e-mail or VZW portal) for Phone 1.

Phone 2 had not changed from "In Process" until this AM when I also received a tracking number for Phone 2 from VZW. The status for phone 2 has now changed to "Sent for processing", but it still doesn't show the tracking number. So who knows what is going on with Phone 1 now. I haven't much confidence in it shipping today - even though I was "assured" that it will. Just like I was "assured" that both phones would be delivered on 9/21. *riiiiiiight* :confused:

I got my tracking number from Verizon on Tuesday afternoon.

the second one is the only one that showed my tracking #
did you not get an email saying it shipped? check the junk mail?

The first link shows "sent to processing" and all ship dates are blank (used to be 9/21).

The second link shows a box but no tracking info and a "ships by 9/21".

I checked my junk folder and nothing in there. I'm fine if it doesn't arrive until Tuesday but it's frustrating to have my card charged and all that and others who ordered after me have tracking info.

I'm sure its based on how many units each facility has to ship so it isn't going to be 100% "fair". But still. I was holding out hope, but as the day goes on I am less hopeful.

There is more than one Apple Store in NY, and the closes one to me did not have any line as of 20 minutes ago. They also did not have much of a line and had units available during iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s launches, so I am hopeful. In any case, if Apple goes to the reservation system they had with 4s last year, getting one shouldn't really be a huge deal.
