So for those who ordered on a different line and will switch it over when they receive it....I've been told so many things. I was told I could just call on a land line and they could activate it over the phone with no problem. I was also told that I MUST take it to a store and they would do it. But what's the difference between a store typing in the numbers vs over the phone???

Who out there has done this before? It can't be that complicated.

Call first and they should be able to switch it. If you activate it on the wrong line (the one with the upgrade you used) first then you have to go get a SIM, I have heard rumors that they can flash SIM's OTA but I am not sure about that.

Call first tell them what is going on and they will fix it for you. Be prepared to wait, I am guessing the call center is going to be flooded.

For me I switched the lines upgrade while I was preordering so my phone will come ready for my line, easier to do that next time.

Mine is just sitting at "destination sort facility". 30 minutes from my house. Maybe I will use some of that training I've gotten in the Army and go raid the FedEx hub.

That made me laugh I can just picture it now on the news police in riot gear defending Fedx from people wanting their iPhones

Haha that would be hilarious.

On the bright side iFixit says that this could be one of the easiest iPhones to repair ever. It only took three steps to isolate the front display! Will be so easy to replace that display!!!

You can also do it yourself on verizonwireless.com...search around for it but I remember being able to do it once.

Memphis to LAX
FedEx 389 departed: 7:05PM.

Package is all it's away to SoCal! For those that got the same info this will be the flight your package is on.

The black ones must weigh more.

I have two coming in different packages. The white says 1.0 lbs and the black 2.0lbs. I thought it was a memory size thing but maybe it's color?

Did you order separately or together at preorder? I ordered two (black and white) and they're coming together and I got a 2lb/.9kg

If I haven't pre ordered or anything, what are the chances I can order one online tomorrow at 8am and get it within a reasonable time?

So sorry - that is crappy! I had to verify my charge with AmEx, but I did not lose my place in line. Maybe I was able to reach them fast enough so that didn't happen to me.

As it turns out, the customer service rep I spoke with seemed to be uninformed. A few hours after I posted my message, I received shipping notifications from VZW indicating that the phones were in transit. They're apparently coming from WEST CHESTER, PA.

Yup make sure you are talking to the Internet Orders reps the other ones are pretty clueless.

Pure sarcasm.
Sorry hard to detect online with out /s :p After reading some of the stuff on here you never know!

On MyVerizon there is a button that says Activate or Switch device...I am not sure if it works with a brand new phone though. Would be nice if it did!

I just got off the phone with vzw customer support.... the lady I talked to about it said that I (we) could do any of the three... go into a store, call in to customer support or do it online via the "Activate or Switch device" button.

She said all we had to do was activate my (our) new iPhone 5(s), so its active on the new line, then do one of the above three methods, answer a few questions and then the phone will be switched to what ever line you want it on. At that point, sell your old iPhone and start enjoying your iPhone 5.
