Well if you have an old unactivated verizon phone, you can still dial 611 for customer service. Perhaps CS could activate, or they could transfer you to activations?

I'd be calling from my iPhone 4 with my number to try to activate the iPhone 5 for that same number. I just opened the box and the instructions that come with the phone say that you have to call from a line other than the one being activated so I'm guessing I'm going to have to wait until I get access to another phone later.

1. How do i get my contacts into the new iphone?
2. I am porting my number from AT&T. Do i need to call verizon when I get the new phone or it will all just work itself out? :D

Haven't read the past dozen or so pages, but I ordered the iPhone with another upgrade and was told last week by a rep to call CSR to get it switched to my line, no problem.

Got my phone about 1.5 hrs ago, called the first rep. She had me agree to terms and conditions OTA and told me to try and activate the phone by powering it on and having it freed up for my line. No such luck. I called back and spoke to another rep, who told me there was nothing she could do for me. I politely said goodbye and called again. This latest rep has been trying to help me switch over to my line, but she's telling me that with the SIM and activations, there's some sort of 24 hr hold so you must activate the iPhone on the line you ordered it on first, then call back tomorrow and have it switched.
She's assisting me now. Not sure about this, so anyone with another story please keep us all updated!
This is a serious pain in the butt.

Oh man this was exactly what I was hoping would not happen. The Verizon rep I spoke to last week told me that as long as I don't turn on the new iPhone, they should be able to switch the lines. I heard once you turn it on, the SIM gets activated on that line and becomes a hassle to switch lines.

Well... I had a half day at work today to find out that FedEx came at 10:40am... So I missed the delivery... I live in a smaller town, and I have never seen a FedEx truck out before lunch.

Well it sucks to be me... can't be mad at FedEx for me not being home... and to tell you the truth I would have been very happy at 10:40am if I was home... especially if I was thinking it would be after lunch!

Door tag says I can pick it up tonight after 7:30pm at my "local" facility, which happens to be 30-45 minutes away. I called the number to confirm, and the woman I spoke to said that unfortunately the package hasn't made it back to the garage yet, that the driver was sent out on an emergency route so it will not be available to pick up tonight. She said that they are planning on redelivering all the missed deliveries tomorrow. My tracking information says "Delivery by 09/24", so I am sort of taking her word on it. Hopefully it's true... would hate to wait until Monday (plus I work Monday).

I guess I will try calling back to FedEx later tonight in hopes it's available tonight... if not, hopefully it will show up tomorrow.

MY PHONE JUST ARRIVED!!! He rang the door bell, had me sign for it & I couldn't help but jump for joy after I shut the door. AWESOME!!!

It is here! It is so light. I wasn't expecting how different it feels from the 4S. Good luck to everyone! Enjoy your new iPhone 5's!

It's lighter, and feels much better than iP4's to me, but I don't think it feels 'light'. I'd say it's more: Feels solid without being heavy.

I also think the thinness and flat surfaces makes it a bit harder to pick up - and creates a risk it will be dropped when doing so. I'm going to train myself to immediately get a finger under it while picking it up.

A bunch of people have been discussing how great the new iPhone 5 is (and I completely agree), but I haven't seen any discussion on the new EarPods. Now, I've only been using them for a few minutes, but so far, they're really great quality headphones. Super clear and high quality audio.

If anybody who isn't planning on getting an iPhone 5 ends up reading this, I strongly suggest getting the EarPods.

VZW messed up my address, so I called FedEx and they allowed me to hold it and just pick it up at the station. It's sitting at home as of press time.

Thanks everyone! It's been exciting and a lot of fun hanging with y'all! Good luck to those who are still waiting. Hang tight!

My phones were finally delivered :D Now I have to wait til 6 o'clock to get off work :(

Me too! My wife just called to tell me it was there. She asked if I wanted her to plug it in to charge. I said "ARE YOU KIDDING". Nobody's opening that box but me :)

My phone finally finished restore from iCloud but now it won't activate. It won't let me call *228, says number not allowed. Anyone else having this problem. I'm existing vzw customer and just upgrading my line from 4S.

Still waitin' for them to get here, but not surprised since when FedEx tells me by 3:00pm, they usually don't deliver til 2:55pm. Oh well, gives me an excuse to clean house, plan my budget for next month and other tasks I've been avoiding.

Verizon Shipping to Apartments

Have any shipments to apartments get any issues?
The shipping address on my status doesn't show my apartment number.

*228 is only for 3G phones.
When you use the setup process for Apple it should automatically activate your iPhone.
