Current AT&T user here...plan on checking Verizon's reception in my home before officially porting my number, so I just ordered my 5 setup as a new line.

If I turn it on when it arrives and activate it through iTunes and then see that the reception is good here...do I then have to wait a period of time before porting?

Hard to tell. I don't know if you can do it like that, it would be best to contact Verizon to see.

I turned my phone on and went through the screens on the phone- within 1 minute my AT&T ip4 was no service and my ip5 was taking calls- don't know what's with all the activation stuff?

In the other Verizon thread focused on upgrade swapping someone said you could activate the phone on another line online which I might try to do instead.

I'm only afraid of doing it online because of the sim thing. Honestly I know it's been hotly debated here and elsewhere, the CSR rep said the sim thing shouldn't be a problem tomorrow but I might just wait it out. She said they could do it OTA tomorrow and I don't want to mess with it.

But if you do try that will you please post back here and let me know how it goes?

According to the text I just received. Someone at my house signed for the phone at 1:30PM EST. Nice to know someone was there to sign for it.

Now I just have to drudge through 5 more hours of work. :(

Still haven't gotten my iPhone yet. It's scheduled for delivery by 3PM and its 2:30PM now so only a half hour left till delivery. Anyone still waiting for their delivery?

It has ARRIVED !!!

It's finally here at 11:30 AM Pacific (Thous Oaks, CA) !!! WooHoo! Sweet!

FedEd man would have to ring the doorbell when I was changing undershorts and about to use the BR.

Happy man! About to unbox... Later dudes.

Well got my new phone today and so far its awesome.

Did online activation with virtually no problem. Only sticker was it said I needed a new SIM card I was like Waaaattt? Verizon said I wouldn't need one. Anyway clicked next it said enter SIM Card ID (or whatever) So I took a paper clip pressed firmly in the hole (some of you will be familiar with this) took out the card and punched in the number (off the card). About 10 min. later the phone as in business. I purchased this phone using another numbers eligibility. Thats all.

Did you call the number to activate the 4G or was the 4G activated when you did the online activation? This may seem like a trivial question but I don't have another line to call the 4G activation number from.

Mine just came! Unboxing now.

How's the process to port a number from AT&T to Verizon through iTunes? Relatively simple easy?

Exceedingly easy for my phone. Just follow the phone prompts and then connect to iTunes with lightening connector.

Still out for delivery for me, I live in MA. Glad I didn't take today off from work, I would have been waiting around all day

Always have it shipped to your work

Had mine shipped to my work and it arrived at 9:45 this morning. Always better to ship it to your place of work. They normally deliver to businesses first...

BY 3:00PM....
It's 2:51PM...

Can I technically complain since I know they will be late?

I must have told Verizon beforehand, though I don't remember telling them.

Plugged in my iPhone 5 and not 2 minutes later my old number was ported successfully without doing anything. Not complaining though. :D

Apparently FedEx feels as if I don't have ANYTHING to do today. You'd think they had to box & tape the packages as well.

How hard can it possibly be to keep a deadline for delivering a package? God forbid it was something DIRE>

My issue is.. It's just been sitting idle on the truck since technically 6am. I know DC is the nations capitol.. But Not ONE.. but TWO FedEx deliveries have come to my office today.. One at 9:30, and again at two...

Explain why in RESIDENTIAL neighborhoods they can't have this same tact..?
