I just came back from lunch to celebrate
, 5 more hours left. Fml. Me too! My wife just called to tell me it was there. She asked if I wanted her to plug it in to charge. I said "ARE YOU KIDDING". Nobody's opening that box but me
Haha same here. My sister called and said it was delivered cause I had it shipped to my parents house. I told her, "Don't you DARE open that box," lol.

hmm...have the lame Oct. 5 ship date...paid with Amex...read a couple people had some weird Amex issues where there order didnt go through cause Amex detected the charges as fraud...anyone have any updates on this? my order status remains unchanged since placing the order on Sept 15th..should i be worried?

Nope. It never tried to activate it, I finally put in airplane mode and turned back off, then when it came back it tried to activate for 3-4 minutes, but said it failed and if it continued to call customer service.
Still waiting... The time has changed several times, but at least it still says delivery by 4:30. The anticipation is killing me!

Mine has been at the local FedEx facility since 7AM (6 hours ago). I thought for sure it would be out for delivery by now. Just keep waiting. It is for the wife and she keeps asking me about it. I also have nothing area where it lists expected ship time. I ordered mine on the minute of pre-orders being open.

Gahh! I can't stand it. Been waiting all day. FedEx says delivery by 3pm... I have stuff to do, FedEx!
I didn't turn on the phone, first thing I did was call CSR. So yeah, I still ended up in this situation. I'm holding two phones with two numbers now. Luckily the line I ordered the phone on is my father's and he doesn't use his phone if ever, but still a gigantic pain. The nice (third) CSR rep I spoke to did say it was possible for me to get it switched tomorrow, nothing with getting a new sim, but it's still just a massive annoyance.

By the way, I activated my phone through iTunes and when I signed into VZW.com I saw I got switched the 2GB data plan. I called and was able to get it switched back to unlimited since I bought it at full cost.

not sure if anyone is interested, but I missed my delivery this morning and I had two separate FedEx reps tell me that they have a deal with Apple and the carriers that they are doing "re-delivery" attempts tomorrow (Saturday) if you missed the delivery today. Normally they don't do re-delivery attempts on weekends, but they are making an exception for iPhone 5 deliveries! They also said you can just sign the door tag... no one has to be home if you sign it.

In the other Verizon thread focused on upgrade swapping someone said you could activate the phone on another line online which I might try to do instead.
Mine's on the delivery truck...Still waiting for delivery by 3 PM (currently 11:05 AM). So bored, I made a WELCOME FEDEX MAN!! sign in 250 pt Arial Font (complete w/ official FedEx logo). What an OCD Nerd. Anyway, it helped kill 45 min.

I telecommute and it's a beautiful thing.
My girlfriend is telecommuting, today only, as well as we don't know if her phone will shut off once I plug in the new ones into iTunes for the number port.
Not sure what's going on... Missed my delivery this morning... tracking said delivery exception since no one was home... now I just refreshed it and it said on truck for delivery again... maybe they are heading out in a second wave today opposed to tomorrow!!!! I hope so!!!
Where did you put in the apt number? i'm sure i did that in the ordering process myself.
lol it's 1:12pm here, so i should "only" have another 2 hrs max to go. spent some time this morning setting up speakers in the master bedroom/bathroom and hooked them up to an hold airport express so i can airplay music house wide

Did some errands this morning so thankfully delivery wasn't attempted yet. I stopped by my local Verizon store and chatted with a few folks. This little store in the middle of nowhere Colorado had 80 people waiting at like 5AM this morning.
Bought an Incipio hard/soft combo case to protect from scuff-gate. Mom went off to obtain some Taco Hell bean burritos while I anxiously await my delivery.

How's the process to port a number from AT&T to Verizon through iTunes? Relatively simple easy?

Current AT&T user here...plan on checking Verizon's reception in my home before officially porting my number, so I just ordered my 5 setup as a new line.
If I turn it on when it arrives and activate it through iTunes and then see that the reception is good here...do I then have to wait a period of time before porting?
