All three phones iPhones I ordered arrived about an hour ago! FedEx guy said his truck only has iPhones on it - crazy. :)

Enjoyed following the thread! Congrats to everyone who got their phones today, and good luck to everyone still waiting.

Wasted my time waiting in line

Due to shady people running the Verizon store in Corona, CA I waited in line for an iPhone when they didnt have any in stock. They were trying to sign people up for pre-orders. They kept people in line telling them "We might have some." People were pretty pissed.

Corporate verizon store???

Did you call the number to activate the 4G or was the 4G activated when you did the online activation? This may seem like a trivial question but I don't have another line to call the 4G activation number from.

It activated 4G but I had 4G on my other phone anyway.

I'm on the West Coast and haven't had mine delivered yet. Decided to leave my oldest son at home so I could check local stores for cases. Went to the Verizon Wireless store and they had only 2-3 customers and about 6 reps. I asked about cases... none. I asked if they had phones and they were out and taking preorders only.

Sounds like I did right by ordering my cases ahead of the phone, because even the Verizonwireless site now has low supply. You might want to check there also. They have free 2 day shipping

Just had it delivered, so excited to have my first iPhone! Can't wait til I can leave work in an hour and then open her up!

Bye bye Droid Incredible

Damn, no lines

Of course my wife mentions today that she would like a new iPhone as well...went to the Verizon store and had one in 5 mins...her's was all set up and ready to go before I even got my pre-order...

Well I got my iPhone delivered to me with no problems. If you recall my apt number was left out on the order, and ship to address. I got it with no problems at all. i was listening for the FedEx truck all day. Luckily The FedEx driver knew where to do. As soon as I heard him, I went outside and got my package.

There was a little problem activating my new iPhone, but that was due to the fact it is my first ever iPhone. Other then this I'm happy with the experience.

Finally got mine. At 12:12pm PST in so cal. Luckley my wife had just got home and saw the truck as she was closing the garage door !

FINALLY got mine 20 min ago,2:23pm here just activating and restoring from I cloud backup,it took 8 min to restore it has never taken that long, probably Because of all the activations, I am really happy with it,I sold my 4s at the first of July getting ready for the new iPhone so I have been going crazy without it.It's just SO tall,it will take getting used to,I am worried that though about scratching, I got the black and already reports are coming in about how easy it scratches, I got a case and screen protected for it,it probably needs full body clear protectors though. At least it is Finally here:)!

i was listening for the FedEx truck all day.

3PM here and still no phone yet... :(

I'm with you on listening for the truck though.... It's garbage day and i live in the south so every diesel I hear has me running to the door.... I feel like one of Pavlov's dogs. :)

Got mine about 11:30 am local. Dogs gave plenty of advance warning that the FedEx truck was outside.

Got phone up and running with no major problems. I did some speed tests side by side with my AT&T iPhone 4S.

AT&T iPhone 4S, 3G, 194 ms ping, 7.88 Mbps download, 1.24 Mbps upload.
Verizon iPhone 4, LTE, 174 ms ping, 16.16 Mpbs download, 5.66 Mbps upload.

I ran multiple tests against different test servers in the region and the Verizon LTE was pretty consistently about twice as fast and always with faster pings and upload speeds. I wish I had access to an AT&T iPhone 5 to check their LTE speeds. But in any case, Verizon has much better coverage in the region so I'm glad I made the switch. Now I just have to go through the pain of getting my number ported and I'm all set.

I'm sure I'll see most of you for the next iPad preorder thread...

Went to my local Verizon today... They didn't even have a line at open an still have some left. Psh I could have slept in on the 14th!

Edit: received my iPhone at 10:30 am, activation and porting from AT&T took about 8 minutes, gotta love apple.

3:01pm here in Houston and no iphone, called Fedex and they said they have until 8pm to deliver even though the website says "delivered by 3pm".

Current AT&T user here...plan on checking Verizon's reception in my home before officially porting my number, so I just ordered my 5 setup as a new line.

If I turn it on when it arrives and activate it through iTunes and then see that the reception is good here...do I then have to wait a period of time before porting?

I wanted to do the same thing. After getting my phones & activating them with a Verizon number, I called the automated port system (866-465-5415) & started the process to port our AT&T numbers. All 3 of my ports completed within 15 minutes & everything seems to be working okay!

FedEx Fail.....

I have the iphone 5 enroute, it is a wedding gift for my fiance. So far i have been able to keep it a secret. I hope I can get the package delivered without her realizing it! :)

sooo... I got up at 2am last Friday and ordered my fiance an iPhone 5 as a wedding gift, it was going to be a sweet surprise until the FedEx guy comes to the front door and says "Hey man, got your new phone here"......while she was 3 feet away sitting on the couch.

Should of said that its for your neighbor and he asked to ship it to your address because he was working. But i think it was still a good surprise!!!
