Was anyone else charged $30 for an upgrade fee?
Me! In my 7+ years of having service my family has never payed an upgrade or activation fee on any of our four lines so I was really put off by this. :( When I call to swap the iPhone to another line I'm going to see about getting it credited back.

Nope but I bought mine out of contract.

You need to go to the status page. Do not use the link that came with your email confirmation as most people have had difficulty with it.

Try this link and enter your order number and last name. If it doesn't work use your mouse to press the enter button instead of hitting the enter key.

Also use your Pre-Order number not the Order number.

For those of you who DID NOT get charged, it'll be on your next bill.

Does anyone know if Verizon Employees can order the iPhone 5? With the iPhone 4S, Employee lines weren't allowed to activate the device until months after the release to provide sufficient stock for customers.

I am asking because my dad is a Verizon Employee and I hope to get the iPhone 5 as soon as possible.

It seems like everyone is saying that they have a $1 charge on their card that they're using to authorize the cards. Should I be worried if my dad's card hasn't been charged that $1 yet? My friend said something about how that $1 charge may only be on debit cards and not credit cards. Anyone have any more info?

I used a debit card I don't believe mine got charged, now you have me worrying

If you go through last years thread you'll see several people didn't have any sort of charge until several days after the phone was delivered. I wouldn't worry about it.

Anyone get their credit card charged yet for their order? I have nothing so far.

I used my debit card and i dont see a charge either. I called and they said nothing to worry about.

I ordered the 16GB but i need the 32GB. What is verizon's return/exchange policy? I will not open the box so they wont charge me a restock fee...

porting question

I have a question... I ported my number from ATT to Verizon online when I preordered my phone through VZW.com. When does my current ATT service stop? My ship date says 9/21. Will it stop when I activate the Verizon iPhone?

I called and asked them they said as soon as i activate my vzw phone and there should be no downtime. isaki87, why are you leaving ATT for VZW? Just wondering....

There are a few reasons. First, I work in Downtown LA and ATT service is horrid. While at work or around the buildings I miss 15-20 calls/day. Also, where I live, everyone has Verizon and when their voice and data is significantly better than what I have.

Secondly, Im moving to the Washington Square of New York next year and I hear the same thing, that Verizon supersedes ATT.

Thirdly, the Verizon LTE is way better than that of what ATT offers in a limited capacity.

The biggest reason, work will pay for my phone on Verizon. :D

Why are you switching?

I pre-ordered through a Verizon phone rep because I wanted to make sure I could keep my discounted data rate - that option was not available online. It turns out that when I activate my phone, it will default to the 2GB for $30, but I can call them back and they noted my account,so the Loyalty Dept. will give me my negotiated discount.

The sales rep said delivery would be by 9/28/12, but when the confirmation email arrived, it shows delivery by 9/21/12. Interesting. I guess it will be a wait and see.

because sprint sucks  the only thing i dont like about VZW is not being able to use data and talk at the same time :(

Hey guys. Just curious but I switched from AT&T to Verizon and was wondering if I didn't get a request for a deposit when my order was confirmed via email (as it originally said pending credit review) and I right to assume I will not have one? I read someone on here say they were required to place a deposit right away and I've also read before that sometimes they wait a few days before asking for the deposit. I did run my credit report and the inquiry from verizon is there and I have not gotten another email yet so that leads me to believe I won't have it. Thanks again if you can answer this for me.

I was. Worse was that I had 3 iPhones to pre-order (for my mom, my dad, and me) and got charged $30 for each one. I did a pre-order for my friend (who also has Verizon) on Apple's site and he didn't get charged that $30.

Damn. I was thinking about ordering from Apple's site this year, but knowing how it was down last year I didn't want to take the chance.
