I used a credit card and I did not get charged anything yet and I did get my confirmation e-mail and my status is "We received your order and it is in process."

Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

You should be fine. They usually don't charge till it has shipped or a little bit after that. Depending on what type of card you use can also affect if you have a pending charge or not. For instance I paid with an AMEX card and I have a $1.00 pending charge from CELLCO PARTNERSHIP, but I have heard a lot of people who pay with debit don't have any pending charges.
Correct with what was said above. I called verizon to ask about mine to make sure I was good to go and they said the same thing, they don't charge till it actually ships. I actually ordered mine at 11:55pm PST so I know I got one in the first shipment.
Anyone who preorded the 4s last year, I have a question.
Do you remember about what time you got the phone?! Before noon etc. since I'm a new vzw customer I had to use my billing and shipping as the as the same address. I will be at work so no one to sign. I was going to come to wokn at 12. In the past my preorded iPad 3 and 4s on AT&T (both through apple.com not vzw.com) arrived around 10 am. Just curious if I should take off all day, or if anyone knows if I can change my billing address somehow.

It doesn't really get any special treatment as far as I know of so whatever time FedEx usually delivers to your house. Last year I got lucky I got it shipped to my school and FedEx stops by there like first thing in the morning. This year it's to my house so its usually mid-late afternoon
Why not just pick it up at the hub by putting a hold on it or get it re delivered to your work ? UPS and Fedex both offer you those options
Just to add to the big thread. Preordered from VZW.Com at about 12:05am PST. Received a confirmation number and email regarding the order. However, I cannot check order status online, it just errors out. I called because I wanted to verify the order was placed correctly, she confirmed that I have delivery set for the 21st, but I still cannot see status online.

So I pre ordered my iPhone 5 on the 14th I got an email back from Verizon with all the dealt is of what I bought the gave me an order number/ conformation number. Everytime I go and check the status of the order it says error invalid order number or something like that. I'm wondering why anyone knows its saying this??

I'd get on the phone with VZW and give them the order # to see what they come up with. I dont understand why u didn't do this the second ur order # came up invalid. I would have called them immediately. They will be able to see if ur order is in or not. Did ur bank post a hold on the funds? That's another way to check Either way, u should be on the phone with Verizon and not posting here. All you'll get here is advice...some good, some bad.
I called Verizon about this and they said they went through a different pre ordering system and I should get an email when it ships they said they see that I placed an order but they said with their system I can only check order status on stuff they have in stock and since this is a pre order I can't. Seems weird but they said it should receive an email when it ships. Is they any difference in ordering with Verizon vs apple I feel like I should of ordered from apple

I don't know about that. My deliveries typically show up between 4 and 6 PM. but with the 4S, my first online preorder, it arrived at 9:30 AM.
That will always be the case when you make a change to your order. Might need to get in line early since these phones are going fast.
You can leave a note with your signature where you want them to leave the package if your not home FYI.
That doesn't work in all areas and Apple has instructed Fedex not to leave Iphones without a sig
My bank said as of right now they haven't had any activity from Verizon. Has anyone else not had anything happen to there account?

Seems like this tread is not really going to get moving until the tracking numbers get assigned and sent out.
Until then we are just wait in see mode, and just have to believe that our phone will come earlier or on time. (which has been the case with other releases of the iPhone.
