Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

Me! In my 7+ years of having service my family has never payed an upgrade or activation fee on any of our four lines so I was really put off by this. When I call to swap the iPhone to another line I'm going to see about getting it credited back.

I plan on doing the same. It's a bit ridiculous they're charging to upgrade now.

Hey guys. Just curious but I switched from AT&T to Verizon and was wondering if I didn't get a request for a deposit when my order was confirmed via email (as it originally said pending credit review) and I right to assume I will not have one? I read someone on here say they were required to place a deposit right away and I've also read before that sometimes they wait a few days before asking for the deposit. I did run my credit report and the inquiry from verizon is there and I have not gotten another email yet so that leads me to believe I won't have it. Thanks again if you can answer this for me.

Did you get an order confirmation from them? When the order confirmation comes they have made a decision one way or the other. I would give them a call to make sure.

Thanks folks. Appreciate it. It's weird that it says 9/21 is my ship date though. My email says deliver by 9/21.

Oh well.. I'll live either way.



EDIT: I went back and re-read the last few pages of the thread. I suspect that VZw probably has their GUI default to the release date as the ship date. To avoid being accused of breaking those pesky street dates.

I feel better now though that I can actually see a status online.

My email order confirmation says "delivery by Oct. 5" and the status page says "ship by Oct. 5." I hope delivery is by Oct. 5 because we leave for vacation on Oct. 9.

I made the same switch last year and wondered the same thing, I just called VZ they where able to look it up and confirm I was accepted with no deposit.

I was. Worse was that I had 3 iPhones to pre-order (for my mom, my dad, and me) and got charged $30 for each one. I did a pre-order for my friend (who also has Verizon) on Apple's site and he didn't get charged that $30.

According to the Verizon rep I spoke to, people that ordered via Apple website will also be charged $30, only it will show up on their carrier's bill the following month vs. immediately on the carriers.

I thought that only credit cards got the preauth charge. I used a debit card and haven't gotten a charge. My order status says it is in process and is expected to ship on 9/21/2012. So, no problems so far. I wouldn't worry about it.

How do I check my status?

I did receive a confirmation email (immediately after placing the order). When I click the "check status" link from the email, the website asks me for my order number. I copy/paste the order number, and my last name, and it tells me that order number does not exist. And when I view my order history from my account page, it says no orders found. Wtf??

I see other people have been able to check their status. I mostly just want to know when it ships, and the tracking number, because I'll have to call FedEx to have them hold it at the sorting facility. I won't be home for delivery, so I'll have to pick it up after work.

Keep trying until it does, I had the same question but after trying repeatedly it works.

got a question. i changed the billing address on my CC so i could get the phone shipped to my job. i work in a high rise in downtown and work in a suite. i noticed when i got a confirmation e-mail the address shows APT 314 and not Suite 314 as i put in the order. will this make a difference? is fedex smart enough to tell the difference?
