I am a little confused by Verizon's verbiage on their website.

When I placed my order it said "Delivered by September 28" (see attached image)

When I check my order status it says "Expected Ship Date: September 28th"

Did it get pushed back and will no longer be delivered by the 28th or when they say "Expected Ship Date" do they really mean expected delivery date?

I have an expected ship date of 9/28. So far are the shipdates seeming to be accurate? Also my order status is "We have received your order and it is in process", does that seem about right for a ship date of 9/28? I have never preordered anything so I am slightly lost.

You should be fine I have a 9/26 delivery date and I just got charged this morning

i'm getting the same thing. i'm being told that it would be "delivered by" 9/28 on my order confirmation, but i called vz this morning and they said it should ship by date?? confused :(. but anyways it should be updated around 9/26, 9/27.
 
Any Oct 5th shipper seeing movement yet? Just curious

I'm also scheduled for October 5th. Nothing has changed yet, but the front page story about shipping times moving up is encouraging.

When I ordered the phones (one for me, one for the wife:)) at my local VZ store, the rep said there was a decent chance the order wouldn't take that long.

Truth is, I stopped into a couple of VZ stores today just to see if they had any in stock, if they did (they only had white ones), I would have got them today and cancelled my previous order. I'm sure that is what is happening in some cases.
 
I ordered a 32 GB white one over the phone from Verizon. I had to call versus do online because I needed Verizon to move up my upgrade date a few weeks. I had an Oct. 5 delivery date. Went to a small Verizon store Friday about 20 minutes after they opened. I was the only customer and they had the exact model I wanted so I called Verizon and cancelled the phone order. Kind of anticlimactic after I had been obsessively checking to see if my original order was out of the "processing" stage. I am sure there are others with similar stories.
 
Can't buy AppleCare+ for Verizon purchased phone

Just came back from the Apple Store where I tried to buy Applecare+ for my iPhone 5 that I preordered from Verizon. The people in the store said they can only sell Applecare+ to stores purchased directly from Apple. Seems weird, it's still an Apple product, why would it matter where I bought it from? Anyone been able to buy Applecare from the store?

This worries me as I have the same delivery date and I still haven't been charged--or had any updates. Almost wondering if I should have hit up the local Verizon store.

This is wrong. Firstly, Verizon doesn't offer AppleCare nor AppleCare +. Secondly, if you bring the phone in to an Apple Store within 30 days of purchase, which you obviously did, then you are eligible to purchase AppleCare +.

Both an Apple employee and a Verizon employee have confirmed this over the phone with me today. I would call Apple directly and ask them why the retail employee rejected you. Maybe try another retail employee?

Just call apple support, they hooked me up. 1-800-275-2273 and also refunded me for the prorated amount left on my iPhone 4S applecare+.

I can relate to this ... same shipping/delivery date (9/26) but nothing else new ... no cc charge, no shipping tracking number, just the same ol' same ol'. Hopefully, things will begin to change in the next day or so. IF the 9/26 date is indeed the delivery date, that means it would have to be shipped by Monday or Tuesday. Not sure if it's overnight or 2-day shipping.

I'd guess (and hope I'm right) that the cc charge should show up late tomorrow or Monday early.

PS - I tried to go to the local Vz store, but they sold out before I got there early afternoon. Couldn't get away from work earlier, but I SOOO wanted to.

Ship Date on Verizon means Delivery Date. Their wording has always been strange.
 
I didn't even think people still posted on this page. Lol I thought it ended Friday but I guess some people are still waiting.. Well good luck and ill c u for the iPhone 6

Argh, I wasn't sure if I could do that. I'm in the same boat as you with an upgrade date that was moved up and I was worried that I would screw that up if I bought it somewhere else. I was at stores today where it was in stock. Oh well, my delivery date is the 28th so I guess I'll wait.
 
You should see movement in the next couple days, I have the same date and my status was updated today to "order being sent for processing". So hopefully we get tracking numbers sometimes Monday.

Yeah i did check from there ... hope it updates soon ... is there a Verizon cust care # from where we can know the status...

The 5th time I called a girl told me all of those people were wrong. She hit a payment button on her end, and within 10 seconds my card was charged. Amazing that she did all this in less than a minute, when I spent probably a combined hour talking to the other Verizon reps who said they could do nothing to help me.

Sigh. This seems so typical for Verizon. Its why I worry about signing up with Verizon again. You pay lots of money to feel like an unwanted guest. Apple charges me a lot of money but damn if you feel part of the club.

Same here.

First I had 9/26. Then Chase decided that a transaction from the second biggest carrier in the country, which they are seeing millions of, must be fraud. So they canceled my transaction. Suddenly the Verizon site had me 10/19.

Now it is blank for me as well. Luckily my card has been charged and the Verizon rep insisted it will ship monday.

I just checked my status. While it used to say 9/26. Now it shows 10/19 and "payment not taken". If that is indeed true I'll be cancelling the order and picking up the phones (4x32GB) in a store since if I have to wait that long, by then everyone will have stock and I can at least inspect them for the damage that apparently a significant number of phones seem to have from the factory.

If there was some issue with my payment (shouldn't have been) they should have notified me, not slipped my order date. After all, wouldn't some payment issue still be a problem with the new order date?
 
Just get the payment issue resolved and the date will be fixed. Happened to dozens of people in this thread
 
I ordered a black 32gb and a black 16 gb on 9/15 late in the day at my local Verizon store.

Order status says I'm in the October 5th group. Anyone getting updates on status?

I've had the same "We have received your order and it is in process." message since day one.

I was able to play with a 4S and 5 next to one another yesterday in a VZW store. It was incredible. I put the same websites into both browsers- and tried to use ones that wouldn't be in the cache or history- and then clicked Go at the same time.

The 5 was on the new site while the 4S was still figuring out that it was told to go to a new url.

Really can't wait to get mine!
