Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

I thought pre ordering would mean I would get an iPhone on launch day or something close to that. I ordered on 09/15/12. I'm not supposed to get mine till 10/05/12 no status updates yet no tracking number no anything! I'm very dissapointed :( I will never again pre order a iPhone! I hope once it does finally arrive it isint all damaged.

Why not just cancel your pre-order and walk into a store and buy one? There are stores that have them in stock.
 
I have two phones I ordered within five minutes of each other at around 4 p.m., Sept. 14 — my wife's and mine.

I got shipment notifications an hour apart this morning at around 3 a.m. and 4 a.m., and that five minute ordering difference has put them on two different paths.

My wife's, which was ordered first, was "picked up" in Memphis this morning, and it said it would be delivered today by 4:30 p.m. That has since passed. It ended up back in Memphis. Now it has left the Memphis facility.

My phone, the second order, was picked up significantly later today. It says it will be delivered tomorrow, but it is still "picked up" in Memphis, and hasn't left yet.

I really hope that both phones come tomorrow. I'm a little nervous that one is moving and the other isn't. It's not a BIG deal, because I want it for Thursday afternoon and should have it by then either way, but seeing as I have to be home to sign for the package, I really don't want to have to sit here two days to do that.

Argh. Just get here already! haha.

HA. I would love to know where your from because by me NOONE has any and isnt expected to be stocked until at least mid October. I live in Staten Island ( borough of NYC for those of you who dont know) and not one single store within a 50 mile radius has them in stock. I preordered mine day of launch @ around 8 pm est and im not expected to have mine until friday. Today i figured i would just cancel my preorder and go into a store and buy it. That plan got smashed quickly. I called 4 apple stores, about 7 verizon stores, and about 3 best buys along with 2 walmarts. Nothing nada zip zelch zero nein. At first I hated that i preordered and it still didnt arrive. After making all those calls, i started to recount my blessings.

I tried that today. None to be found. :( The Verizon corporate store told me their next shipment was scheduled for October 19th, although that could come in a few days early. Guess I will wait until October 5th for my delivery.
 
Can anyone confirm this:

This is coming from my ditzy neighbhor so as far as im concerned shes full of it however this is what i was told. She went to the apple store today to fix her broken 4s. She asked about upgrading to the 5. Supposedly the lovely apple employee has said that if you order on apples website between the hours of 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. you can get your phone the next day. A friend of ours also said that he knows someone who followed due process and received the phone already.

As far as im concerned this makes absolutely no sense since all pre orders have yet to be filled. A non-credible source combined with a semi-credible story leads me to believe she just heard incorrectly, however, I would love to know for myself wether or not anyone can confirm this.

Well, for some reason her number is the default one on the account, though I've told them repeatedly to switch it to mine, so when they did the order, they did hers first.

Sounds like bullll crap! Probably just because she was a she... and the employee was a he... haha
 
So if we got billed and our order status changed to Your order has been sent for processing, and the receipt says 2 day shipping, should i be expecting it thursday or does it count today as part of the 2 days shipping so I would be seeing it wednesday?

Still says processing and the ship date of 10/05

Also my card hasn't been charged yet


Anyone think it's possible they could bump the shipping date up a little sooner?

I think it's very possible, as many, including myself, have seen ship dates bump up.

The next thing is to wait until you get an email from Vz telling you the phone has shipped and giving you a FedEx or UPS tracking number. From that point on, you can follow it. Mine arrived about 10 hours after billing.

As far as I can see, it's been overnite shipping (delivery within 24 hours) for most people who have posted in this thread, but I'm still waiting for mine today and there's only 10 minutes until the "delivered by 4:30 today" on the tracking. I know from past experience that FedEx deliveries here can come much later in the day than 4:30 pm, but we'll see. Keeping fingers crossed.

I ordered mine 9/14 5:58 pm EST and today around 2:00 EST it switch from "We have received your order and its awaiting processing" to "Your order has been sent for processing" Still waiting for card to be charged and shipment info.
 
Just got a tracking number via Fed-Ex :D

I also order mine at a local Verizon store at 5:30 PM EST on 9/14 (live on East Coast) initially said "Deliver By: 09/28/2012." By the way, the status got changed this afternoon from "We have received your order and its awaiting processing" to "Your order has been sent for processing"

Now just a few minutes ago I got an email to notify the tracking number via Fed-Ex and should be here at my local Verizon store by 3 pm 9/26 (tomorrow) which is great!!!!!

Are you sure your order didn't say, "We received your order and it is in process."

Also I got the White 32gb version, which I would think wouldn't be as delayed as long as the more popular black version.

Any thoughts on this?
