Hopefully it will be at the store tmrw and will be able to go pick it up. Hope everybody else has the same thing and enjoy your new phone! :)

I do will be leaving. Fun run. Met new people, but my iPhone is here and it's time for me to leave this thread. Good luck to the rest of you!

Again, ordered it on the 17th, White iPhone 5 16 GB, told it would be shipped today, delivered on the 5th, and everything is on schedule! I should have it by tomorrow evening :)

I received a shipping notification from VW last night. 2 weeks ahead of schedule.:D. FedEx hasn't picked it up yet. Expected delivery is Tues by 7pm. I can't wait.

Ordered a day before Official release date (9/20) said it was going to be shipped out by 10/12. Check again, date gets pushed back to 10/26 smh...fast forward to yesterday 10/4 and surprisingly received a tracking number. Today (10/5), phone being delivered by 3 pm *Fingers Crossed* and I will have successfully switched to the darkside :apple: :D (Formerly Android of course)

Edit Note *Phone: 32 GB White*

Bummer - Delivery failure

Ordered 4 16GB on 9/19 - puported delivery date of 10/5 - no movement in status yet.

Received email from Verizon today CONGRATULATING me on my purchase of the iPhone 5. Second paragraph notifies that I will not receive timely delivery without telling me when I will receive the phones. I will receive a shipping email with tracking - sometime. Pre-order status still shows 10-5 delivery date.

Third paragraph offers me a 30% discount on any case - thanks for nothing Verizon.

Watch for your shipping dates to slip.

My phone is in store and I am picking it up after work today! (Ordered a 16g on 9/15 in store).

What I learned...don't listen to the Verizon reps, they don't know any more than we do it seems, and if your order confirmation has a shipping/deliver date then go by that date. Chances of it coming early are slim...especially for the 16! If you get your hopes up for an early delivery then it just makes the process frustrating. My deliver date said 10/5 from the beginning and it was delivered today. In the meantime Verizon reps kept giving me different random information making me think it would come sooner...

Good luck all!

Hmm...somebody might be lying about iPhone 5's being shipped early and on time

So what does this mean for us who are waiting? :(

Foxconn workers reportedly strike over iPhone quality demands

Workers at a key Foxconn facility producing iPhones went on strike earlier today, according to a report from a Chinese watchdog group.

Approximately 3,000 to 4,000 workers at one of Foxconn's factories in Zhengzhou, in China's Henan province, reportedly went on strike earlier today over what a watchdog group says were onerous demands on quality in producing Apple's iPhone 5.

In a news release, China Labor Watch says the workers, who mainly do quality control for the factory's production line, were asked by the company to improve the quality of their work to the point where production deadlines could no longer be met:

According to workers, multiple iPhone 5 production lines from various factory buildings were in a state of paralysis for the entire day. It was reported that factory management and Apple, despite design defects, raised strict quality demands on workers, including indentations standards of 0.02mm and demands related to scratches on frames and back covers. With such demands, employees could not even turn out iPhones that met the standard. This led to a tremendous amount of pressure on workers. On top of this, they were not permitted to have a vacation during the holiday. This combination of factors led to the strike.

Foxconn manufactures products for Apple as well as other technology companies including Dell and Hewlett-Packard. The company employs 1.1 million people. The reported incident is the latest worker-related action to affect production at one of its facilities. Last month a riot involving as many as 2,000 people broke out after an alleged altercation between a guard and a worker. The plant in question was shut down and reopened a day later.

The reported demands on quality could have been a reaction to widespread reports of cosmetic damage, found by early buyers of Apple's latest iPhone, which went on sale late last month. New iPhone 5 owners found nicks on the aluminum antenna bezel, and in some cases warping of the antenna band, despite the product being fresh out of the box. Apple has stayed quiet on the matter, short of a purported e-mail from marketing chief Phil Schiller to a customer saying "any aluminum product may scratch or chip with use, exposing its natural silver color," and that it was "normal."

CNET has contacted both Apple and Foxconn for more information and will update this post when we know more.

I checked Apple store, Verizon and others and they all still have the delivery dates being the same as last week, no change. This is good news so far so maybe this strike will not affect anything.

Hopefully not!!

Don't Foxconn have over a million employees? Doubt this will hold things up.

Verizon Iphone

so i have been on here a few times and thought i should share my iPhone quest.
I had made a preorder for 2 16GB black iPhones through their website on 9/30/12 for shipping 10/26/12. today i decided to try Sams Club and they had a lot of 16GB Black in stock for $197.00 , so i purchased them there and canceled my original order. i just wanted to throw it out there for those who might want to try their luck at Sams Club. also I didnt have to pay a membership, they were running a free weekend membership promo.:D

Yes Foxconn has something like a million plus employees and different locations. I'm hoping this won't affect things, but most of us are fishing for possibilities as to why it is taking so long. I think we aren't being told everything and this Foxconn thing like being played down.

I hope whatever it is they get things straight and it doesn't affect anyone's order.
