See, I had reps telling me to call BEFORE turning on the phone and they can switch the numbers on the sim before it's activated. That's what I'm talking about, I keep getting different responses. Another said I could even do it online before turning it on. The issue is the nano-sims, as iphone 5 is the only phone that uses them. How mad will people be if they have a phone and are unable to get a new sim???

Call in before you turn it on as the rep said instead of following activatuon instructions in box. Tell them u wanna activate under your number and all is good.

Call before hand and see if that works. You can do it online but I have only ever tried doing it with old phones that have already been activated and are 3G so no SIM. Never have tried it with a new phone. I was able to transfer my upgrade luckily so I should be good to go. But I think I am still going to call.

I'm trying to figure out if I need to call VZW again to get the payment processed and 9/21 delivery date confirmed.
 
You'll need to hit up Verizon for a new sim for your number.

Incorrect, the Verizon sim card is only for 4g it's not a full sim like with AT&T and tmobile as its CDMA not gsm. So all you would have to do is activate the phone on her line since you have to. Then get a dummy phone or her old phone , then you activate that on her line. It will free up the iPhone 5 then you can activate it on your line. There is an extremely slim chance you will need to go into Verizon and get a new nano sim or whatever it is for your line.

I would call the internet sales department to verify you are good to go.
 
You guys need to relax. If your card has been charged, you have a receipt, and your email said 9/21, you're getting it 9/21 or earlier. No need to bombard VZW with stupid calls. Just relax, and go do something rather than freak out about the littlest detail not changing in your order status. What are you going to do with the tracking number tonight? Declare love to it? You can wait.

I just called to my cc company to make sure my transaction didnt get flagged as fraud they said there was a 0$ transaction so far
 
1. rec email stating that I need to call to approve deposit to add new line
2. call and approve
3. date slips to 10/5 from 9/21, status says "sent for processing, payment not taken yet" no auth on card
4. call cust service back, says she can take the payment, doesn't think my place in the order queue would be changed due to deposit approval. Takes payment, I see the auth show up on my card.
5. check status, 10/5 is gone, now says ship date not available. Still says "payment not taken yet" even though it has been charged.


Anyone else in a similar boat? Usually my need to have my gadgets on day one is mostly superficial, but this time if it slips into October my deal to sell my old phones to gazelle is borked. Should I call that number..
 
I have a quick question for whomever is generous enough to provide an answer.

I currently have a verizon account with my wife and I. My WIFE is the one with the upgrade eligibility. However, I want to activate the phone on MY line..not hers.

However, when I went to preorder the iphone on the website I had to select my wife's phone line because it was the only one eligible for the discounted price and I'll be damned if I pay 600 dollars for a phone.

Will this be a problem? Is the device somehow attached to my wife's line? Will I still be able to just activate it on my line like I used to be able to?

I hope this helps - I am with Sprint but have a Family Plan with my parents/brother/sister (I am the account holder), so we usually have one upgrade a year and I have a tendency to swipe them. I've done what you're proposing almost every time, and while it takes a bit longer on the phone I always get it done.

What I do is I call up Sprint while I'm activating the phone (from a landline) and let them know that I want to use this new phone on my line, while retaining the old phone on the other line. I have to repeat it a few times, but once they get the gist everything goes off without a hitch. Sometimes it takes a bit of finagling to get everything transferred and both phones functioning correctly, but it has always worked.

No need for a new SIM card or anything more drastic than a thirty minute long phone call, and some slight hair pulling.

The confirmation e-mail has 00:22 (PDT) in the timestamp. That sounds about right. It took me some time to find my AT&T account no (porting to VZW). My five-digit number starts with a 4, if you think that means anything. At this point, I am open to voodoo and witchcraft if it'll give me an estimate on when I'll receive the phone.

Aghhh. Mine starts with a 4 too. At this point, the only explanation I can think of for not being charged yet is that I have 3 phones in my order with each one being different so maybe it takes longer to "package" them together as someone else said earlier in this post.
 
Pre ordered mine at 3:05am est and says it will be delivered on the 21st. No tracking yet. I called Verizon to make sure my card went thru and to make sure my order is gonna be on time. he reassured me I would on launch date. I added a line to get my iPhone 5 cause I have grandfather unlimited data and nationwide 700 plan so I can switch it to that line. So only a 10$ extra a month

Hopefully gonna try and sell my iPhone 4 16gb on eBay to cover the iPhone 5 200$

Btw ordered the white 16gb and does anyone know if the unlimited data plan will allow unlimited 4g? Or is 4g a seperate data plan?

Whatt! I ordered around 12:20 AM PST and my e-mail said 9/21.
Does anyone know what's happening? Even before this new message, it said 9/21 when it said it was processing. Now it's 10/5/12? NEED SOME SOLACE.

Mine said that and chase had declined the charge thinking it was fraud. I fixed it and I still show that message. My date had moved to Oct 5, but now has disappeared. I just received and email from verizon saying my order was complete and is being shipped with a link to the tracking site, but it still shows payment hasn't been taken yet (it really has) but my Oct 5th date now is blank.
 
A verizon Rep told me to activate ALL my phones first, THEN call to get my numbers ported from t-mobile... So should I call before I turn on the iphones now?

Same situation, she said expect it on the 21st. All you can do now is wait.

I posted a recant above. Previously in my experiences you had to because it was already activated, however I've never dealt with non activated 4G LTE lines.
 
Exact same situation here. Hope the lady on the phone was right.
You guys had your card charged over the phone?

Do you have a receipt on your verizon account? I don't. The paranoid person in me says that payment won't correctly be associated and when they try to run it again there won't be enough on the card.
