how do i select for it to be held at a local store? i dont see this option anywhere on the fedex tracking page?


and am i the only one with no destination on my tracking? LOL my address isnt on it, or anything that even says texas
 
Last night my AMEX declined the charge attempt thinking it was fraud. I called AMEX, then Verizon to let them re-try the charge and it did process. Now my preorder still says no payment taken and no ship date.

I called Verizon and they said my payment was received and still scheduled for SEPT 21. But, i am also still paranoid like some others. :(:(

Same exact thing happened to me (except it was a Chase card). I'm just trusting VZW's customer service guys, since they keep saying that 9/21 will still happen.

Verizon does not allow that option on their shipments. One delivery attempt must be made before any changes/requests can be made.
 
Got my tracking number too!

I got an email at 2:16am with confirmation and Fedex tracking number, It shipped this morning for standard overnight.

We'll see if it comes tomorrow or not. When I ordered my new iPad in March, it was held in Louisville for five days and delivered on the official release day... but that was UPS.
 
Ordered the 32GB Black right at 2am Central through Verizon, no issues, then got the CC fraud alert - worked through that with the CC company and Verizon, called this morning - Verizon says everything on their end is fine, and will have in hand on Friday! Still no shipping info yet though - hang in there everyone! I'm in Wisconsin - maybe shipping info isn't over here yet?
 
Just called FedEx and they confirmed it will be delivered today. I'm not going to get my hopes up, but that'd be pretty sweet.

Just updated the tracking page - it's on the vehicle for delivery. I guess we'll know what it is soon!
 
just got an email from verizon saying order has been completed!!! :):)

However, was I the only person who thought that Verizon's web portal/ordering system was a train wreck circa 1999?

well according to FedEx, verizon requested the packages only be held after 1 failed attempt.

She said i can leave a note signed on the door to leave it on the front porch (lmao yeah right)
if not i will have to drive 20 miles to the hub and get it.. nice vzw no option to hold at the local fedex shipping office! or pick up at the hub at 8 am..
 
frustrating..

I was excited to see Verizon hit my bank account for the $400+ yesterday afternoon, then I folowed the OP's instructions and inquired about my pre-order - It said my order has been sent to Processing, however I hadn't received a confirmation e-mail..no worries I thought, I figured it would show up this morning. So I check again this morning when I woke up, and to my dismay the charge has disappeared from my bank account. My pre-order inquiry says shipping by 9/21 - and I spoke with a Verizon Rep who confirmed my order should still ship just fine..but, I have my doubts! Come on Verizon, send me a tracking # already!

By the way, I live in Orlando and I ordered the 64GB Black, at 3:01 AM on the 14th - You'd think by now I would have been tracking.. :confused:

on the Amex for one dollar. Status is still we've received your order.... My expected delivery date is 9.21.

Did everyone who used Amex have the charge flagged as fraud? Trying too tell myself all will be ok but would feel so much better if I saw some movement.

Myself also on credit card and calling VZW. Getting the exact same online message, but also having no choice but to trust Verizon.
 
Those of you with tracking numbers, have you ordered a 64gb white? Just curious to see if white phones are holding up orders or something.

Fingers crossed. I have seen before where a package has been on the truck and when the driver scans it before making the delivery it is flagged as do not deliver and they hold it.

Did you order any cases or other accessories? Chance they may have sent those first?
 
Thanks for all the info about the unlimited data issue! but i'll be making a phone call to verizon before i activate the phone just in case.

Now I'm wondering if my current insurance for the iPhone 4(CDMA) will transfer over to the iPhone 5 when it's activated? TEC-ASURION was included in the plan that was in the invoice including all my current features that i have on my 4 right now. again...just need confirmation :):):)

it does say 2lbs? the iphone weights 3.95 ounces

If you are worried about the charge getting flagged just call Amex and let them know to expect it. I do it all the time before I travel or make a large purchase and never have issues.
