Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

Has anyone had any luck getting Verizon to allow them to pre-order and get the discount even if they aren't quite eligible yet? The Verizon website says my iPhone 4 isn't eligible for an upgrade until 10/07/12. I'm hoping they will let me go ahead and upgrade now and still get the discount. Otherwise if I have to wait until Oct 7th to order I'm thinking shipping times are going to be so backed up I probably won't get the phone until November.

Although part of me is tempted to just order now and pay full price so I can get it sooner, and keep my unlimited data plan/regular family plan instead of having to switch to a family share plan and have a data limit.

I ran into the same thing. If I use the link provided in the confirmation email, it doesn't work. I wandered around the iPhone 5 pages on the website around 6am and found an order status link there. I used that one (goes to a different place than the link) and it worked. There wasn't much to it. It just said the order had been received and I would receive the phone on Sept 21. I'm having trouble finding that link on the website again.

I didn't realize until after pre ordering my iphone that the email on my account was old. I no longer have access to that account, do i have to confirm the email for my order to be finished?

I noticed at 1:53 am central time last night VW started taking orders.

I was able to get my order in about 1:56 am.

So for those thinking they ordered at 2:30am central that it had only been a half hour since ordering began, it could have been at least 37 min if not more since ordering had started.

So far, my delivery date still shows 9/21/2012 in the pre-order system when using my preorder confirmation number to look it up.

looking at my email, i got the confirmation around 317am central time and placed order only a few min before that. my delivery time still says 9/21 (well est ship date, but prob the same really)
 
so i ordered mine last night and got a confirmation email saying that it would delivery on the 21st.

but if i go to apple.com and check my status on the order..it is saying 2 weeks now. like oct 5..! is that the ship date if i were to order another one? or did my ship date somehow slip AFTER i ordered the phone and got confirmation of shipping on the 21st?

i got a text asking me to confirm
 
Black 64gb ordered 5 minutes early.... And my date was also changed from the 21st to the 26th
 
For anyone else who is having issues with pre-ordering with VZW and are in the same situation...

I went to Apple to pre-order the iPhone 5, but when I saw that shipping dates were pushed back two weeks, I immediately went to VZW to pre-order instead, since shipping is by launch date. My upgrade date was 9/20, and since I was OK'ed to pre-order through Apple for the subsidized price, I didn't think I'd have any issues pre-ordering with VZW.

Well, turns out for some reason (I don't know what the reason is, the VZW rep I called refused to tell me), VZW wouldn't pre-order my iPhone 5 unless I paid full retail price for it. I told the rep that I could of pre-ordered with the subsidized price on Apple's website, but the rep kept arguing with me that she can't place my order.

I requested a supervisor... and after a half hour hold time, she said she went ahead and modified my upgrade date so I could pre-order today.

I thought this was kind of ridiculous that I had to request a supervisor (I work for a bank and I am help desk, aka "supervisor" myself, so I don't normally do this), but for those who are having issues, that may be the route to take.

Go to the store, and they will likely grant you an early upgrade. I've pulled it off multiple times in the past.
 
Quick question I want to keep my grandfathered plan. I am going to buy the 16 gb $649 Verizon model. I can select the Nationwide Talk 450 but under internet it only shows the 2 gb plan. Is that what I should select for unlimited internet or am I missing the option ?

Please, someone confirm! I did use my Debit card for purchase ...

I can't even check my order status. Made it over the phone, but now I'm getting a "technical difficulties" error each time I enter the (correct) info. Sigh.

I ordered at 3:20am est and I didnt see pre-auth on card. Mine said delivery 21 and now is 26th though

EDIT - Yeah for those of you still interested, before I cancelled my order which was placed at 3:13AM showed SHIPS BY 9/26 - ridiculous.

32gb black order confirmation email at 2:06AM central time

shipping was 9/21 but has changed to 9/26
 
about how long after you order do you typically get the email with the confirmation that it's been shipped?

Because I have the standard confirmation, however, the verizonwireless/orderstatus isnt working
