Just bought three 7's from Verizon in Northern Virginia, where it should be strong. At least one is stuck in 3G across numerous locations in our area. So we definitely have one problem phone.

A bandaid fix to the "No Service" issue (Disable VoLTE):

Settings/Cellular/Cellular Data Options/Enable LTE <-- "Data" // Set this to "Data" only, not Voice

This will disable VoLTE (no HD Voice and no more downloads when calling), but will resolve No Service and GPS signal issues.

I was traveling this weekend with a Verizon iPhone 7 plus and a Verizon iPad Pro right next to each other. IPad would have a full strength LTE signal while the iPhone 7 would be on 3G or 1X. I would put iPhone in airplane mode to reset the signal. The signal would return to LTE briefly then drop back down while the iPad signal remained strong. I hope a software fix can remedy this.

Me and my wife both have the same problem, I have verizion 4g Lte extender at my house and the iphone 7 doesnt connect to it no matter what i do.

I have also experienced this and have contacted Verizon referencing ticket #102095-091716. My 7+ should be getting LTE Advanced speeds as I am in an LTEA market. Instead, I get around 3-8 Mbps down and .5-2.0 Mbps up.

So, with everything being said...In everyone's gut is this software or hardware related?

Both me and my Mom were traveling from Long Island to Manhattan, yesterday and my iPhone 7 was full signal and her iPhone 7 plus had no service...I had to turn her phone on and off to remedy it...

I appreciate the invite to the board...

For almost two months now I have been experiencing this issue on my iPhone 6 using AT&T. It happened under iOS 9 and it's still happening under iOS 10. I had no issues until I had my 6 replaced under AppleCare for a bad battery and since getting the new one I constantly get "No Service," or my phone switches to 3G. In most cases the phone will not switch back to LTE without me putting it in airplane mode and then back again. It's frustrating and one of the main reasons I'd planned a switch to Verizon, assuming it was carrier related. Now I'm wondering if that's the case. I think it's time to dust off my old HTC phone and see if the service is the same or if it's indeed an iPhone issue.

Either way, I'm holding off switching carriers or upgrading to iPhone 7 until I hear people's issues are getting resolved somehow. :(

I have an AT&T iPhone 7 and it does not connect to LTE once I leave a wifi connection. I have to restart the phone then it connects to LTE. Sure hope they get this corrected!

I am watching this closely as I was almost ready to pull the trigger on a new iPhone 7 to add to our device pool and we are exclusively VZW.

I spoke with Verizon today they told me they are aware of the problem and advise me
to go to carrier and in roaming to turn on data and voice roaming for the mean time
as i have it enabled in LTE Voice and Data.

Trying that tonight

I had a problem with my iPhone 6 under iOS 10.0.1 where it would only recognize the Edge connection on T-Mobile, but a reboot of the phone actually fixed the problem. Mind you, T-Mobile pushed out the T-Mobile 25.2 carrier software for the iPhone 6 and that permanently cured the problem.

I wouldn't be surprised that Verizon pushes out a new version of the carrier software that fixes this problem.

Haven't been on Macrumors in a couple weeks or so, but I just saw this post. I've been experiencing this on my 7plus 256 for the past week. I'm running the latest beta. The problem seemed to surface for me after updating Verizon's settings. It always seems to happen in the same area, possibly when switching towers.

Same issue - very frustrating. All three iPhone 7 (Verizon) in the family. One a clean setup as new device, the other two from backup. No difference.

Seems like an Apple issue if seeing it across multiple carriers.

I wonder could this have something to do with the cellphone radio chips on the iPhone 7/7 Plus models used on the Verizon network (models A1660 and A1661). I believe that the iPhone 7/7 Plus models sold for AT&T and T-Mobile customers usually don't exhibit this problem.

I just recived a iPhone 7 Plus 256 gig (AT&T) and when I first booted the phone it read only 4g and in my area we have very strong LTE connection. SOLUTION- just hard reset the iPhone by holding the volume down and lock button for 10 seconds. Worked for me and have not had an issue since then. I am also on 10.0.1. Hope this helps some people out!!
That's technically a "soft reset". A hard reset is the "Erase All Content and Settings" option. In other words, reseting the phone to factory.
[doublepost=1475380801][/doublepost]I'm glad I came here. I'll wait another month or two before I pick up a 7.
