Naaa, one would think. I've always though waiting in line is something only a geek would do. Far from it. Back in June I got along great with all the people at the line. Hot coco/coffee, movies over some iPads and a helluva long blanket. The people there were of ALL ages. Three teens, one who wasn't even getting an iPhone, a mom and grandfather, a dad and his son and some guys. The kid who was in line ended up selling his 1st in line spot for $100. Lady who bought it showed up at 6:50 not expecting a couple of hundred peopel in line lol.

Sounds like a perfect reason not to be there.

I live right by there... tempted to go see if she's still smiling as it's going on midnight... I won't... but it's tempting. :)

The nice thing is, she already has the AT&T iPhone to keep her busy... Perfect timing for those Angry Birds updates...

The hoopla surrounding a phone that's already been out for 6-7 months is astonishing.

15 hours isn't that long, its not like she is camping out for a week.

I spent the night with a few old friends waiting for the iPhone 4 when it came out. We had fun, I could have ordered it but why not get out.

The first in line experience is overwhelming. My son was the first in line for the original iPhone. When the deal was done, he turned around to the crowd behind him and held it high into the air. He got an ovation similar to that of a rock star. He'll never forget that feeling.

A guy at my church had a Verizon iPhone tonight. It's just another iPhone.. just with verizon. No big deal.

She has a 3GS therefore she is still under contract and will have to pay whatever the remaining termination fee AT&T will demand. Her first bill from Verizon will be for the first two months of service, plus the activation fee. The cost of the phone, which will be outdated come June/July. It certainly seems like a lot of cash to spend just to switch to Verizon instead of waiting out the AT&T contract, but nevertheless that is her prerogative.

Good luck to her!

I hope she gets her phone..

Fans are probably the best thing about working at Apple and bringing great products to people.

That's assuming she bought it at the subsidized price. She very well could have paid full price for the phone. Ergo, she may not be under contract at all.

Exactly... it is her prerogative.

Not sure why so many people care why and what others spend their money on. Must suck to constantly worry about how much money other people are spending.

Apple would never ever make a crappy sign like that. That's clearly the work of a Verizon store.

I agree. If someone wants to go stand in line, let them be. If they enjoy it, that's all that matters.

Besides most of these posts are made by trolls who can't afford half of the things they post about, thus why they aren't standing in line, yet mock it.

Some best buy and Verizon wireless stores are near my house tomorrow. I am going to check out on my way to work. I will just get up an hour early. Thankfully, all of these stores are in mall and there is a gym I go almost every day nearby. Would love to see how many verizon users want to jump in.

I plan on driving by the VZ store in the morning before they open on my way to work, just to see the line. I am glad to see folks are excited and willing to wait in line. Better than for some tv at Christmas I must say.

After last year's wait in line for 5 hours in 90-degree heat, I swore I wouldn't do it again. The next time I'm getting a new iPhone, it'll be done completely online. I'll have someone bring it to me, thanks very much.

I've never waited in line for my iPhones. I just don't get the appeal. I'd rather read online articles/blogs about it with some coffee, while waiting for it to arrive to my house. Much MUCH calmer.

I should go to a line at Verizon, take a pic with my AT&T iPhone and post the pic to Facebook while talking on the phone and say, "HA HA! You can't do that!" :D
