Verizon iPhone Orders Already Shipping

One of the last times I type on this horrendous BB storm. Wifi on a phone...imagine that..sheesh
 
The VZW Rep I spoke to did not have any information on my order (3:35 AM EST) but it was his experience that it could take up to 24 hrs to post shipping info. on the website. He indicated (strongly) that I should receive mine tomorrow. I live in Charlotte and mine would ship from Alpharetta GA. and he does not see any weather or other problems with a Friday delivery. So I'll probably be sent a tracking number after the phone has been delivered.

I....Love....You. I live in Charlotte and if your right(and luckily you did all the legwork) I should get mine tomorrow too!!!!
 
My credit card is showing the iPhone charge as a pending transaction. Hoping that it gets delivered soon!
 
I called Verizon and asked to change my shipping address due to it showing up wrong on the confirmation. They informed me that despite it saying that the order had been shipped, that it had not. So I asked when, and the infamous response of "on or before Feb 20th". FedEx will e-mail everyone with a tracking number as soon as the iPhone's are shipped.

I ordered off of Verizon's site, I'm wondering if the Apple.com folks are having the same issue or if they were able to have different shipping options.
 
Wrong. Fedex Account holders have tracking #s as soon as the label is printed. It's not in the tracking system though until the carrier scans it during pickup.

It's already in the system when the pickup driver scans it. Otherwise, the system has nothing to associate the tracking number to. When you create a FedEx shipment either through the software or the API, it's sent to FedEx immediately (or, if you're large, you batch it). By the time the driver shows up, the driver and the system know exactly what packages are to be picked up.
 
Couple of issues that I have a problem with:
1) Allowing orders 10 minutes before the specified time
2) Lack of communication with regard to order status and estimated shipping time
3) Clearly oblivious VZW reps
and
4) the fact that I woke up at 3am EST, spent over $500, and have no clue if I will have my iPhone before all the ATT people waiting in line on Feb 10 who already have ATT iPhone.

Just a bit irritating

Just noticing that there hasn't been any VZW-iPhone news in a while. Are you getting tired of this endless stream of non-VZW-iPhone news? :D

People always find something to complain about...

1) the only people who probably knew it opened early we us here on macrumors which probably isnt enought people to stop you from getting your order in
2)we just ordered 12 HOURS AGO! give them some time to get everything updated
3) cant disagree with you here...lol the reps should at least know whats going on
4)it says on the FAQ that the verizon iphone will arrive 'ON OR BEFORE THE 10th"
 
This excites me as I originally placed my order at 2:55 am EST. Little did I know by entering my social instead of my wife's put the order on hold status because her name is on the account. Called up Financial Services...I had to cancel and reorder this morning at 9:00 am EST. :rolleyes:

The SuperBowl is this weekend. In about 24 hours I won't give a flying **** about any phone.

Question.....or my thoughts..I posted this eariler....I upgraded both my wife and myself via our online acct and I paid for the phones with my bank acct...which all went fine....my question is...Verizon never asked for name on the bank acct. I put in my cc #, cvc# and expire date...what name did they use?????..my wife is the primary line and I am the add on line..called reps this AM and they said shouldn't matter..the order will go through....order still in processing..will the bank reject the transaction? Does Verizon auto attempt to my the primary acct (my wife) on the transaction..or is all the other data enough to process the transaction?
 
My Ace Order No: 5870 and my Order Status: We received your order and it is in process. Anybody with an ACE number close to mine who's order has been shipped?
I've waited a few years...I guess I could wait another week :D

This is a huge event, and their call volume is probably way, way up. For me, the VZW reps are a plus for being with VZW. When I've called they're always courteous and knowledgeable. And, unlike another very large US carrier, I've never had services added without asking for them. So I forgive them for not being quite up to speed today.

My status just changed to say it is shipping today.

Probably have a hold at Fedex, similar to other early orders. Won't be delivered till the 10th is my bet.

Yes that is how it works in theory ... nevertheless there are always a few lucky ones where the 'hold' does not work and receive their devices early (unfortunately that never happened to me)

Don't fret... I am ACE# 4647 and my status is still the same as yours and I ordered at 3:00am est.

Yea, I'll be rip **** too if AT&T folks got theirs before mine. What was the point of pre-ordering then?

But for such a huge event, you would think that there would be some degree of consistency in the answers given for the same question!
 
My card has been charged!

After the initial order this morning i had the standard $0.00 authorization charge, but now my account has been charged the full amount!
