Couple of observations, etc.

1. I was given the discounted price ($199 or $299) even though my NE2 date is in this June. BUT, my NE2 is still intact on my Account Page after the order. So, I don't think the NE2 had anything to do with the discounted price. Or did it? Incidentally, 2 of the 3 accounts on my Family Plan were discounted iPhone eligible.

2. Glad I wasn't foolish enough to get up at 3am. I got online when I woke up at 7:15am EST got on the VZW site with no hassle or delays and ordered 2 phones within 3 minutes or so. Doesn't appear that I will be disadvantaged in terms of shipping date (said 2/10 like everyone else.) My order number was 27,xxx btw.

3. Does anyone have an ACTUAL Fed Ex shipping number? If not, all the shipping reports are BS. When you get a number - then it is shipped.

4. I was VERY impressed by the VZW order page and system. Very simple. Minimal clicks. Set-up nicely to instantly handle multiple line upgrades to the iPhone. E-mailed order confirmation was nearly instantaneous.

5. Had to laugh at some of the "pride" people here took that their account was already charged. What that means is Apple/VZ gets use of the money while you have nothing in your hand but a receipt. Pretty slick.............
 
Also has said shipped since noon.

After the initial order this morning i had the standard $0.00 authorization charge, but now my account has been charged the full amount!

The charge to my account was much more recent.

I've been talking to reps all day because the system duplicated my order this morning. I have been fighting to only have 1 iPhone come to my house. The last rep finally was able to file a "Trouble Ticket" where they actually go into the warehouse and physically remove the extra box.

Because of this, my order status may have updated more quickly than others.

Considering I have talked to 3 minions and 2 supers, I have been told repeatedly, they will be able to find my extra package because "it will be in our (verizon) warehouse for a whole week." Everyone I talked to said they ARE NOT SHIPPING them until 2/10.

Despite their information, my order status changed to shipping today. Who knows. It is all a crap shoot. I'll update as soon as I receive any shipping information.
 
I did two different orders, one for another family member. Interestingly the first one is listed as shipped, while the second one is listed as in process and I can make modifications to the payment. So it could actually imply that these phones are shipping out early.

EDIT: So I just checked again and now the second one is listed as shipped and no longer can make modifications to the payment.
Can you cancel and did you get a shipping email?

Thanks Heb, I just hope it isn't a BS ship date. It could just mean that it is expected to go to FedEx today, but there may be a hold on it til 2/10.

That would be garbage. I'm trying not to get too ex:apple:ited about it.
 
25% discount does not apply on the apple cords or chargers. I was thinking that if the bumper was available on VZW, then you could get 25% off until I saw that 1) its not being offered yet and 2) the discount does not apply to the apple accessories yet.

accessories are discounted or at least they were before the pre-order. I have not checked back yet as I did not see much I am interested in.
 
I ordered mine at 2:53 AM which is weird coz it said it will be released at 3am EST so i got mine early and its not shipped

I will be EXTREMELY upset if they don't ship until Feb 10 because that means we won't get them until the 11/12. I would rather have ordered on the 9th and picked it up at my local VZW dealer, and had it in my hand that morning. This will COMPLETELY ruin the purpose of a pre-order!
 
But for such a huge event, you would think that there would be some degree of consistency in the answers given for the same question!

You would think, but such large corporations don't know how to manage the dissemination of information.

Plus, I'm sure they try to keep some things under wrap. BUT why?! Let the customer know!

It also comes down to the fact that no company wants to hear the words, "But you said..." come out of a customers mouth. Less information and they can't be held accountable.

That is EXACTLY what I have been saying since I heard the rumor they weren't shipping until 2/10. Whats the point to your loyal customers if they don't get them until after the general public.

Hell, I drove in to the office this AM at 2:30 to use a faster internet connection just to make sure. Now you're telling me some guy can wait until 2/10 and walk out with an iPhone before all of us?!
 
Why they will ship as soon as they can.

Verizon wants you to get the phone asap so you will start using it and they will start billing you. Let's say they sell 1,000,000 phone to existing Verizon customers and the average bill is $100/month. Holding the phones until a ship date of Feb. 10 will cost them $25,000,000 in revenue for just the one week. That is not going to happen. Plus, I think they cannot hit your credit card until it is shipped. I do not expect to see tracking numbers until tonight.
 
I'm in Raleigh so I like the sound of this...although right now my order hasn't shipped yet. I have ordered phones for my company in the past and 9 times out of 10 I get the package delivered before I see the tracking number email.

I think it's safe to say if your card is being charged you'll get your phone soon. Verizon doesn't charge the card until the phone leaves with the carrier.

what are your location #'s? I'm in SC, and mine is Ace Order Location: 1456901, yet my ace # is 1179xxx (pretty large). i'm wondering if the ace # is directly related to the location #, as I finished my order at 3:10am, and got my original confirmation (of the order, not of shipment) at 3:50am. Currently have no indication if it even saying "... shipped".
 
There has been a ridiculous amount of conflicting information coming from VZW's customer service through all of this. I've called probably 15 times over the past 4 weeks and gotten at least slightly different, if not radically different answers from each person I've spoken with. That's not to say almost every one of them has been very friendly and tried to go out of their way to help.

But they should do a better job of keeping everyone on the same page.

That said, if I get my iPhone tomorrow, all is forgiven. :D
