Wondering whether your VZW iPhone order has been processed?

Go to your VZW account online, click upgrade now.

If your screen shows:

j9651k.png

You order has been received and processed. You may not have received your shipping confirmation email and may be unable to track your order using the reference number generator right now, but an ESN has been assigned to your order, which means your order has been processed.

If you click on Activate a phone, you may receive an error, that's good. It means your device is being processed.

For others, who click activate a device, you should receive something like this:

Which, means your order has already been completed and device is in route to you.

For those with FedEx tracking numbers, suffering from OCD because your device hasn't moved from the Memphis hub, resulting in tracking info that looks like this:

Understand FedEx makes money from shipping on condensing. Meaning, by it being the weekend, they will wait for all the packages that are to be sent via overnight before sending a flight to your sorting facility. Your device will arrive on the 7th. It will leave the FedEx location in Memphis either today or tomorrow for Monday delivery.

The same is true for UPS deliveries that were purchased from Verizon. UPS deliveries purchased from Apple are slated to arrive 2/8.

Remember, ON OR BEFORE 2/10.

As for those wondering why the authorization fell off from their debit card. Your bank has a policy that authorizations can only be held 1 to 5 days, depending on your bank. That doesn't mean your order was canceled. It will reappear once VZW submits the final charge. Credit cards, on the other hand, may have holds as long as 30 days.

No FedEx nor UPS will deliver your device today, no you will not be allowed to pick it up, no VZW will not process a delivery intercept or hold at the hub for your today.

I think I covered most of the things in this thread so far.

You receive Apples for this.

Ordered my iPhone at 2:46 am.
Received my confirmation email immediately.
Received my shipping confirmation just this morning at 1:30am.

The past two days my Order Status gave me the typical "couldn't find this page" error. I just tried again and it worked. So I think it *should* work you everyone once you *finally* get your shipping email. (Mind you, I've had my tracking number since yesterday morning via the reference number. Still "picked up" in Memphis.)

Some of you people need to relax. Big product releases like this do not use the normal shipping processes. Apple (and I'm sure Verizon) negotiates special bulk shipments with the carriers. The gadgets are typically stockpiled ahead of time at shipment centers versus originating from the seller's warehouse. I'm sure there are some variations and inconsistencies in how the scans and status updates are being done.

I'll be the first to admit that I should probably not be as anxious as I am, but it would be nice if there were more clarifications on the notification page regarding when the package will leave the origin facility. Just don't understand why some tracking numbers give very vague notifications and others show the detailed route that the package has taken.

My phone has shipped, received tracking info via UPS, and the package is 5 minutes from my house.

Ironically enough, the line I ordered the phone on still says I have an upgrade... hmmm

most of the verizon site is down for me so there is no checking to see if my upgrade page is grayed out... oh well only two days won't hurt. Just hope I'm home when they deliver it.

Hello all!

Also, let me share a bit of my UPS knowledge. I personally have a UPS Verizon Wireless account with a bunch of goodies because a family member of mine actually works for UPS.

1st off, there are 3 different types of scans:
Origin Scan: This simply means that your shipment has been scanned at the origin facility and mostly known as the location code (e.g: D771001). Because your phone was scanned at the origin and that's the most up to date information you have, that means that your phone has been picked up and is being scheduled on a flight to it's next point. This will result in the next type of scan which is:

Departure Scan: This scan is initiated when a phone leaves a specific facility. This most likely means that it's one one of three things, a plane, a train or a tractor and trailor. Since all of these verizon phones are being sent Next Day Air SAVER, UPS can take their sweet time and save tons of cash by simply putting the packages on a T&T which most likely is happening right now.

Arrival Scan: This is usually the scan after a shipment arrives at either a major UPS hub (i.e: Worldport [Louisville, KY]) or a sorting facility. A sorting facility is usually the last stop before arriving at a local UPS centre. There is where the package can either be picked up (after the first attempt to deliver) or where it will go out for delivery on a UPS package car.

Now here's most likely the culprit for lack of updates. UPS' facilities are fully automated, ESPECIALLY WORLDPORT! Basically, a scan isn't a man running around with a handheld scanner scanning about 2million+ packages. A large conveyor system carries the packages through a overhead scanner. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOUR PACKAGE HAS BEEN MIS-READ BY THIS SCANNER SYSTEM BUT BEAR IN MIND THAT THE DELIVERY DATE IS HIGHLY ACCURATE AND YOU WILL BE UPDATED UPON THE NEXT SCAN! If your package is in Worldport, it is most likely VERY congested. Therefor, the scans might not have gone through but you WILL be updated upon a departure or arrival scans. Arrival scans are the only types of scans that are fully automated, the rest are scanned as they come out or leave a truck, NOT A POD! A pod is VERY condensed and usually comes out of freight planes. Trucks don't carry as much packages and are immediately scanned as they are unloaded.

Hopefully, this provides enough insight as to what's going on. If you have any questions, please update this thread with any questions you may have. :)

Yeah you paid for it. Its your's they cant keep from giving it to you when you want it. They may argue that verizon wont let them or this and that but if you make a big enough fuss and explain you have to pick it up for some reason they will do that for you.

if it were that easy, wouldn't someone on here have theirs by now?

mine has been stuck in memphis since yesterday (2/4) at 6 am showing only that it has been picked up. but it still shows an expected delivery date of 2/7 by 3:00 pm. when should i expect to see that it is in transit?

what does this even mean??!!

The service selected is not available to the destination address. / Downgraded, forwarded to consignee, selected service is not available.

thanks ups.

Went to the Laurel UPS center to see if I could pick up my package early. The lady said I would have been able to but the package was across the street in the warehouse, but that it would be delivered Monday for sure. I WAS ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY VERIZON IPHONE!!!!

I just got this update on my tracking page. I don't understand why it went to Newark, NJ. And when it says departing Newark, NJ does that means its coming to MD now?

That's only because the CSR doesn't want to spend anytime on the phone with carrier (UPS/FedEx) to make this request.

Just make 'em do it.

That's what I did so that I can go pick it up from UPS Monday morning. I already have confirmation about my Delivery Intercept.

yeah. so, that didn't work at all.

That's where mine is too... and not surprising because we're in the same location code. I'm close to Norfolk, VA. Not to insult your intelligence, but there's a huge airport in Newark, which means its there to get on the plane to come down close to where you are. Mine will probably fly from there to Norfolk, yours likely to Baltimore or DC or something like that.

It might sit there until Sun. night, then fly out, and it could still easily get to you by Monday.

Did anyone ordering 2 phones get 2 emails from Verizon with the same tracking number for both? I'm wondering if it's a mistake on their part or something else

Fex Ex - West

I received email from Verizon that my iphone has shipped and providing the Fed Ex tracking information and the Fed Ex tracking says:

Picked up

WEST CHESTER, PA

Shipment Dates

Ship date

Feb 5, 2011

Estimated delivery

Feb 7, 2011 by 3:00 PM

Destination

....., NJ

I'm hopeful that I'll have it on MONDAY!:)

I ordered 3 iPhones. Got three emails. Same phone number and same tracking number on all three emails. I don't think there's any problem with that, seems I've heard a couple people mention that's the way it seems to work with more than one phone.

Makes sense. After typing Newark New Jersey into Google maps it loaded the page right on top of the giant airport lol. As long as that tracking page says its on schedule I'm good.

EDIT: But now looking at Philadelphia, they have Philadelphia International Airport. Wouldn't it be easier to take it to Philly from West Chester than to take it up north to Newark? Or is Newark's size more accommodating?

Yep, there is a nice FedEx and UPS terminal at Newark. It's very large and I see the planes from my house and guess who I see? ;)

Feb 4, 2011 6:55 AM Left FedEx origin facility ONTARIO, CA
Feb 4, 2011 6:00 AM Picked up ONTARIO, CA
Feb 4, 2011 5:12 AM Shipment information sent to FedEx

Ok, mine has been in transit since 6am yesterday. Ontario to San Fernando doesn't take 2 days, maybe 2 hours.....

They are messing with us.
