Especially since they told me Visual Voice mail was going to cost money. YESTERDAY, right before he told me to go take a nap since I told him I was going to order at 3am on the east coast.

My receipt showed that Visual Voice Mail is free.

Probably easier to make it standard than to modify code for that I guess, but still nice.

It's a really easy mistake to make. And you only make it once.

I sold my original iPad over six weeks ago and I'm so glad I did. I got way more money that I could have ever imagined. A long time Apple guy, I'm used to good resale, but this was outstanding.

I started ordering mine at 1:50 CST, my # is 575,credit card has been charges with a location of Warren. (OH, I assume). My location # is N211601. Order says shipped but no email confirmation yet.
 
Well I talked to a Verizon Wireless Rep. and they said that the iPhone WONT go ANYWHERE till the 10th!!! This made me Mad!!! :mad:

Why would verizon even offer a pre-order then? Why charge peoples cards, update systems to show "shipped", and then let them all sit in a warehouse until Feb 10th? What is in it for them? It seems that they would want to please their customers and get even more hype about good reception and service on the iPhone. Sounds to me that this rep is just an idiot!

That is my point. CSRs do not know what they are talking about 90% of the time and instead of saying "I don't know." they pretend to know and just tell you the wrong thing.

The post was in response to someone saying they WILL NOT ship until the 10th because that is what the CSR said.
 
Mine still says in process. I took a nap...and dreamed about it...how sad is that? :D When I ordered my MBP in September I was a MESS...shipped from China and I got it in TWO days!

miah - yeah.... sadly I had an iPhone dream last night too. I dreamt i worked for radioshack (yikes) and that I pulled one off the truck behind the store!

sad it is taking over all of our thoughts
 
My Verizon Order Experience... Smooth and Easy!

- I ordered the moment they went online just before 3AM.
- Immediately received the confirmation email.
- This morning my status changed to shipped, but no tracking number.
- Just got my tracking number now.
- Checked tracking online and it says delivers Fri 4th by 4PM
- Called into track it and the FedEx rep confirmed.

Oh, and in case you're wondering my initial order number was 16.

Looks like I'm going to have both my Verizon iPhone4 and AT&T iPhone 4 to compare. Just what I was hoping to accomplish. First hand experience.

I'm optimistic, but providing fabricated information to eager, well-meaning people isn't so humorous.

If you ordered "the moment they went online just before 3AM," your order # won't be 16 because the preorder was initiated well over 10 minutes before 3AM EST. I ordered at 2:52AM and my order # was 427.

Orders are processed one-by-one but tracking information would be done by batches/shipments, not one-by-one. Meaning the entire shipment would be handled at once, not per-item for each shipment.

If one person gets a tracking #, hundreds of others would get tracking #s as well.

I wouldn't imagine that Verizon would hold the shipments until the 10th. If I were to take a guess, Verizon reps are asked to let the customers know that they should be receiving it the 10th to be on the safe side. Better safe than sorry.

Tracking information will also be delayed. If anyone has ever tracked packages, they are never updated the moment they are received. At times, it can be several hours after your item is delivered before your "In Transit/Out for Delivery is updated to "Delivered."

I'm sure with patience and due time, tracking information will be provided :)

I am a moderator in an Android forum and the amount of crap that the VZ reps put out there is crazy. Many of them use the forums to find out information. And, as already mentioned, will make stuff up.

I have ordered many things from Verizon and have yet to get a tracking number prior to it arriving. It may be that I live in TX and it ships from here so it beats it, but I have never got one emailed to my prior to my shipment arriving.

This is all overnight items though...
 
To the person asking about what name they use to charge your CC...When placing the order it specifies Billing Information MUST match your CC statement. Thus the name you enter in the billing information is what would be used to charge your CC.

This is all overnight items though...

Usually I receive my tracking number after it has already arrived in Memphis....So the tracking number emails are delayed for me too in MI

I actually have received a tracking # before. I had ordered a car charger and they emailed me first with the order confirmation then an update email with a FedEx tracking #.

I guess we'll see...

I started to go through the order process to get you this, then cancelled. I am sure that whatever name is entered here is what is used to bill your credit card.

Probably already had the name saved under the account. Mine was shipped to my billing address because it was already there when I entered my account. I forgot to change it to my school address.

Ya if I go to my order status and say modify payment.....asks for type, number, date and cvc. no name on card asked....
