You can 'Track by Reference' on FedEx.com.

Verizon adds a 'reference' to all FedEx shipments as follows:

Ace Order Location_Ace Order No

For example:

D27864_3812025711

If your item was truly shipped, you should be able to track it with this method.

That's it......

We were all trying to figure out what the "Ace" numbers meant

I hope its the shipping location, not just the order location

ahhhhhhh, because if it is shipping from a specific location, it may come sooner rather than later? Is that the theory?

I am enjoying this.
I am willing to bet that the default is they cannot be shipped until the 7th or 8th. However all will be 'bagged and tagged' and tracking numbers assigned, but they will sit in a room somewhere until they are released for shipment. Of course, if I am incorrect, I know I will read about it here....:D

Probably already had the name saved under the account. Mine was shipped to my billing address because it was already there when I entered my account. I forgot to change it to my school address.

But thats my point..which name....my wife is the primary and hell my name is not even listed on the acct info, but am just the added line, except for the account managers...maybe verizon is able to link or verify names on the account including the account managers and get the RIGHT name submitted on the transaction....VZ reps say..o no issue, but as we have found out...they don't know much.

Update: Killing me called and talked to V financial services and talk about not having a clue.....she just kept saying...we assume its a uthorized user.....entering the card info...I said well of course...I asked her if the Verizon's billing would attempt or stick the primary acct holder name on that billing transaction..she just said no. I said well whos name...will it be billed under..she said mine..I said i didn't input that in there...she said it will process and go through fine..so heres to hoping!

+1 on this. I hope it is not the case, but I am thinking they are just marking them as shipped when they are Fedex labeled. That way they can see which ones still need to be setup.

Man I hope this is wrong though!!

I am pretty sure....it was 2am...it never asked for a billing name on the charge...it asked what type of card...card#....expirationdate....cvc#....thats all...maybe my 2am memory is not working ...which wouldn't suprise me...but i swear it never asked for name.

mine didn't ask me for a billing name either but that's because I had a check mark in the option that asked if the shipping info is the same as the billing info.

Found this on the FEDEX site: "Severe winter weather conditions affecting Memphis hub may cause some service delays and disruptions within the U.S. today." Not Good

I still say delivery tomorrow!

Verizon is not going to hold onto your iphone for a week when they can bill you for a week of usage instead. I post earlier, it could be as much as $25,000,000 in additional revenue for them just for shipping today!

O I had that checked to..just hoping nothing gets rejected assuming my wifes name on the billing. They say it will all go and work, so I just keep refreshing order status..

Could you imagine how many trailers full of phones would leave a place at once if they are just labeling them and setting them in the "outbox"? They would have to have something worked out with fedex in advance to make sure overnight is over night.

Not saying everyone is on this preorder, but even 100,000 phones would take up a fair amount of space...

Just a theory:
If you're going to work something out with fedex (from verizon's POV) instead of coordinating many trucks, it would be better to work it out so you give them the phones ASAP and let them get them as close to the destination as possible until the delivery date. Its not like they can't deliver on a specific date, just this past New Years our office was closed from Christmas till after the New Year. They knew we weren't in the office (because driver was notified) and all shipments that came in (or were going to come in) between the 24th and the 3rd, got switched to a "delivered by" of Jan 3rd once it reach the local sort, no matter what it said before.

But thats just a theory. I'm sure fedex has been doing this long enough to know how to do overnight shipments on a large scale. ;)

screen cap of tracking info?
Screenshot of your shipping confirmation email w/ tracking number?

You won't get a screenshot b/c these claims are false. Why would Verizon ship 2 Day when their website has plasted all over it, "Free Overnight Shipping & Instant Online Discounts when you buy online?" The receipt also clearly states "(1) FEDEXSTDOVERNIGHT3PM $0.00"

Verizon would be shooting themselves in the foot if they screwed this one up.

Here you go.

jonshu, did your tracking # come in an email?

I was referring to a tracking # for an order I made several months ago, sorry. I was just saying that I did indeed get one before I received my package.

My tracking # has yet to come for my iPhone.

So yesterday afternoon, a Verizon rep walked me through how to use my My Verizon account to upgrade my phone to the iPhone; the key was that my phone line was not eligible for an upgrade, but I'm on a family plan and my dad's line was eligible. It's a standard procedure to simply switch upgrade eligibility from one line to the other. Knowing what to do, I went through this process (which I had rehearsed) a little before 3 am, going into my account and switching the upgrade from my dad's phone to mine, selecting the 32 gig iPhone.....but instead of listing the cost of the phone as $299, there was a glitch in the website, and though I tried it another half dozen times, it still charged me $749, the full retail price! Obviously frustrated (because I was sure I had followed the process correctly), I asked several Verizon reps today if something could be done, but they're all telling me that I should just cancel my order and try again. I shouldn't have to do that!! I followed exactly the correct procedure right before three am, and now the verizon site is down, so I can't even go into my My Verizon account and try again. I cry injustice!!!! I envy everyone else who's had a smooth ordering process.....any ideas on what can be done? I really don't want to cancel my order and receive the phone long after every once else....since Verizon's system had a problem, they should be more concerned about helping the customer. So far, they've pretty much only politely said "that sucks".

Same crap happened to me at 3am. I called customer service and spoke to a lady telling her the very same situation. After telling me to wait until the 9th and call back when they could be more certain of what was going on I asked her if I could simply upgrade my mom's line (eligible) and when the phone comes just transfer it to my line. She said that I could do that and what would happen is that when activating the phone it would first ask me to accept terms and conditions under my mom's line but then when asked whether I would like to activate now or later.....choose later. Then I could go online and put the phone under my line (ineligible). I then asked if she would be charged additional for a data plan since I upgraded her line and she assured me that since I choose activate later it would never be applied. So my advice to you is just to upgrade your dad's line and when the phone comes call CS so they can walk you through the process. I also confirmed this upgrading tactic (for lack of a better word) with another CSR. Hope this helps :)
