Really because he told me that yesterday when he put his Sim in from his 5s. He couldn't get VoLTE when he put his old Sim in.

You can do edge... But you have to be eligible. You should call Verizon and check.

I took mine out of a 5 and put it into a 6 and Vollte worked great

I have been answering various Verizon questions that are strewn across this forum, so I thought I would make a thread for someone to ask a question and I'll answer it, just to help out the community. Obviously I will not disclose my position, but I am capable of providing fact driven answers to most questions! Also, if you have any Sprint related questions, I can help out as well.

Let's get started!

Hey, I got quick question about Verizon Individual plan ($60 one) and apple.com. I plan to order thru apple.com and select the pickup at store option, however when I want to choose a plan - all I can do is select "More Everything Plan". Is there a way to get the phone with more everything plan and then go to Verizon and have them change the plan to individual (or even do it at Apple at time of pickup)?

Thanks

You can do it through verizon, but your phone will have to be activated prior to 9/30. You cannot change your plan with a pending order on the account.

Once I activate it I will be able to change plans? (From more everything to individual)

1gb single line plan for $50

imake: is this available? before the iPhone 6 release, a couple people suggested there was a 1gb single line plan available for $50. is that true? is it going away soon (Sept 30)? are there any limitations (i.e. will it run out and become something else after 12 months as was speculated upon in another thread?)

I was wondering thee same thing too. I have a old Samsung charge that I would rather give away than my s3... Is that possible.? I've already pre-ordered the phone through edge though. Idk if that makes a difference or not.

I was able to trade in an old iPhone 4 I had laying around and they didn't give me a problem... The guy said I was going to get $100 bill credit but I do not see it on my account and the guy is not going to be in for a couple of days. Will he $100 appear on the next bill?

What's the bill credit for?

Verizon Max at Apple store

Hi, first of all thanks for you help on this thread. Very helpful.

My question: I currently have a 6+ on preorder, switching to the 8GB Max plan from UDP(CSR over phone did the order). The estimated date is not until 10/31.

It looks like my best bet to get a 6+ earlier, is to cancel my preorder and try Apple. But will I be able to keep my Max plan? Will that be an option if I try to order on Apple.com? Or if I select another plan, can I switch to Max afterwards?

I would hate to get locked into another plan and lose the Max.

Thanks!

I have an iPhone 4 with an unlimited data plan and I think it might be time to get a new phone finally. I was considering trading in my 4 for the $200 credit towards a 6. I would like to know if there is a way to keep my unlimited data besides paying full price for a new phone. We have 5 phones on the account and 3 have upgrades, including an upgrade on my line. Would I be able to use one of the other upgrades and somehow keep my unlimited data? Obviously my iPhone 4 has no SIM card so I can't just transfer that into the new phone.
Phones with account:
Regular phone
iPhone 5s with 2GB data
iPhone 4s with 2GB(available for upgrade)
Regular phone(available for upgrade)
Iphone 4 UD(upgrade available)

My iPhone 6 pre-ordered from VerizonWireless.com was (finally!) received from FedEx and activated, and I've registered for an account online.

When I try to activate a second Verizon iPhone 5S on this account, after entering the MEID I get the following:

We're sorry! Unfortunately, none of the lines on your account are eligible to receive the Online Authorization Code. You will not be able to add the new device to your account.

If I log out and go through the motions of activating the phone on a brand new account (Wireless, Shop, Plans & Services, Activate Existing Device), I'm prompted to enter the MEID, I'm prompted to enter the SIM card number, the web page tells me my device is eligible for this plan type: "New Customers" "Get a MORE Everything Plan"

Any idea why I can't activate a second (existing) iPhone on my new account?

Any harm in setting up a second account while having the customer service types to fix whatever the problem is?

Are you trying to put the iP5S on the same account as the 6 will be on? If so you can only do the online activation once every 30 days... I had this problem a few weeks ago. Just call vzw and they'll get it sorted out.

VZW has a promotion if you switch to Edge you get $100 bill credit... I am on a More Everything family plan and just switched 1 line.
Interesting I was sure that based on the details of that promotion it only applied to new lines. So you are saying it applies to even existing lines that change to Edge?

What? I switched to Edge, hopefully I'll see this.

It does not. Only to new activations. Unless they did a new line, then canceled the old one, your rep was uninformed and I would recommend calling CS immediately. They can contact the store and apply the appropriate credit if you were, in fact, misinformed.

There is a Loyalty Plan available that is 1GB / month for $50. However, it's not a standard plan and CS has to manually apply it. Also, the 2GB plan is much better, as the 1GB plan has a $15 / 500MB overage charge ($30 / GB).

thanks for the info. i guess i will have to wait and see if i use more than 1gb a month on Verizon. i have only exceeded 1gb once in the past 2 years on AT&T and that was a mistake (it tried to download a video from the cloud). i generally use 600-800mb a month. so if i only went over 1-2 times a year, the $50 plan might make better sense.

but if the rumors are correct that the 2gb plan will go away sept 30, that is a moot point and i will stick with what i have.

btw, anyone who is a new Verizon customer try to get the Loyalty plan 2gb option? that supposedly has a $10 overage charge (per gb)

not a huge deal for me since really don't expect to exceed 2gb (unless by mistake), but might be helpful for some, or for me if i somehow use more data in the future.

You're right about the 2GB Loyalty plan, it's only $10 / GB overage. You could call and ask them to switch you over to it because you were under the misconception that the $60 plan had a $10 overage, but who knows if that would work.

I read a bunch of what has been posted.

I have 4 iPhones off contract with att. Two 4's one 4S and 5S (160 month 10gB)

Plans with VZW and Att seem the same. Both have 100 to switch or start the Next/Edge plan. VZW on the chat line told me I may not do the $200 trade in to do the Edge. When I talked to att as I recall I may get the o$200 for the Next plan.

Not sure if I'm remembering all the information or mixing the chat and phone call.

Seems that it would work out about the same to get 4 iPhone 6's on the next/edge. May I get the $200 credit per phone to turn in the three 4's and $300 for the 5s and apply that to my bill? (Att phones)

VZW just opened this week in Alaska. Thanks for your thoughts.

It's too bad that $100 offer doesn't extend to those who would switch to Edge and only actual brand new lines essentially.

I have an iPhone 5 with an UDP, also on same account have and iPhone 4 with 2gb with an upgrade.

Can I use the upgrade on the the iPhone 4, when the phone comes activate it, then log into my Verizon account and switch it over to the UDP line and not lose the unlimited?

Or when the phone comes instead of activating on the 2gb of data line, just activate it on the iPhone 5 line? Will this cause me to lose the UDP? I know that the other line will always have the 2gb and I am ok with that.

You can do the $200 trade in with Verizon, not sure about AT&T.

Agreed.

Thanks....

On the Edge and keeping it for 24 months would be better price than the 2 year contract? The numbers I see seems there may be a $100 or so difference. What I'm am having a hard time wrapping my brain around is if I do the two year Contract and the phone is subsidized why does the 2 year not come out $500 cheaper (if VZW is paying that much of the phone)?

The only advantage with the Edge would be activation and upgrade fees…..

Do you happen to know if we can enable VoLTE on concession accounts with eligible devices? Tried calling but was on hold for over 40 minutes before I gave up.
