I'm the account holder of my Verizon account & I'm not inputting my social incorrectly (I went to FAFSA to try logging in with my social number and it worked so I'm not remembering it wrong...) and my billing zip code is what it should be... I'm so confused. Why wouldn't it work
Let me know if you figure this out. I have a verizon person who is supposed to call me back soon to help (they were helping before the server fiasco)

Was having the same issues as everyone for over an hour. I put my Verizon 7 Plus' SIM into X and could not activate. I powered down X, powered back up, my iPhone 7 Plus showed the new Quick Start setup once the X was on and I was able to go right through the activation process, it's now downloading iOS 11.1.

Activating the phone went smoothly but now it's stuck adding the Apple Watch LTE. Its saying in 30 minutes turn the watch off and on and see if LTE is working.

I’m in! I’m in!!! Thx guys for posting that you got in a few minutes ago because I’d given up, but when I saw your posts I tried again immediately and got right through the process!! Yay! Only took 3 hours!!

Tried unsuccessfully for past two hours now. I finally got the telephone number screen, hit next and now after 30 mins the “next” is just a spinning wheel and still stuck on the phone number screen. Phone is locked up. Going to try and turn it off and start over again.

Same here. also on the other line with VZW rep to no avail.

was i supposed to use the sim card that was in my 7 plus if i'm part of the IUP?

Nice, just got in! Problem is, iOS 11.0.1 is installed on the X and my backup is 11.1, so that means I get to restore the phone and go through the process all over again when 11.1 is installed! Yay iTunes!

Wasted a couple of hours of my life, perhaps this will help... I had my old phone on when doing this. I called VZW and the solution was: Turn off both phones (don't use airplane mode on the old one, turn it off), wait 10 seconds and only turn on the new phone.

Hope this works...

I have been struggling all afternoon too...

I am a Verizon customer who just got it working.

I called Verizon and gave them my ICCID. They worked some magic on there side and the activation went through. One note is that I recently moved (5+ months) and changed my billing info right away. I had to use my old billing zip code to get it to go through.

Good luck all!

Even their welcome sheet inside the box doesn't say anything about turning both phones off.

1. Save your contents and contacts.

2. Turn on your new phone and follow the onscreen instructions.

How did you all call Verizon... my x is stuck at “Activation” and my old phone shows “ no service”...

I just got in. The error message had changed to something like "session timed out". Once I got the phone number confirmation screen, I was in. Put in my real zip code and SSN. A couple more minutes and my X was activated.

I think maybe they changed things so once you connected your session would stay connected until completed.

Best of luck to those still having problems. Hopefully things are getting better.

Edit: FYI...I used the new SIM in the new phone.

Well guys it took me 4 hours but I️ finally got through and just finished restoring my iCloud backup. Man I️ was seriously getting frustrated.

Activated using my previous phone, just held it up close, prompted me to start the activation, about 60 seconds, done.

Did the same thing but my new iPhone X kicked off the prompts on my iPad not my old iPhone 7 Plus. First time through got an error message but when I hit retry the activation was successful. I was a bit reluctant to use another device option and almost hit the manual setup option, but am really glad I gave it a try.

Got through the main screens with zip and ssn, it kept going and is letting me do all my setup. But about 10 min ago it popped up the ‘not activated’ warning, so the phone part isn’t done yet. Which is ok for now because we don’t have cell service here at home, probably why it didn’t work.

So you ended up activating with the old SIM in the 7+ and the new SIM in the X?

My wife's phone tried to activate it first! I dismissed her dialog and moved mine closer and it started the process.

9 hours after getting my phone, it finally activated. Now I'm waiting while it downloads software updates so that I can restore the backup of my previous iPhone. This is an annoying transition.
