So the 29.99 plan will be for the iphone then huh? :D
I wish... we will know soon.
Mother F@#&@® I was going to get the 150mb plan. Guess I am not getting an iPhone.

F#^$ you Verizon.
Lol. They may still introduce new pricing.... you never know.
LOL an iphone is data heavy phone why would you get a 150 mb plan?
What would you do with only 150mb?
Well said... 150 will run out quicker than your minutes on the lowest 450 plan will... unlimited will be awesome if not they should give 2GB or more.
Any smart phone on Verizon is $29.99 for unlimited data.
This may not be true for the iPhone. Currently all use the unlimited $30/mo as you mentioned.

Better eh? Theres a map for that ;)

Yea, only if that map was true. Most of Kentucky, Verizon doesn't work, 1 reason why we went to at&t. Also the same in Wisconsin, and having Verizon for work, coverage isn't as good as people like to say it is.

I think it's pretty smart for both ends to have unlimited only. On VZW side, it makes it easier to know that everyone has "unlimited data" and free's up confusion in billing. If you have data, you pay 30$ period. On the Users end, if you want data you pay 30$ and you dont have to worry about paying more. If you dont want to pay 30$ for data, you dont use it enough to need it.

At Fort Campbell VZW smoked ATT. That was back in '05, no idea what it's like now.

Hey you can't .... do that! :eek::mad:

I don't think its fair enough to say "most" areas.
You can't say you've been to "most" of the United States and tested AT&T vs Verizon, can you?

_______

It depends where you are. If you've ever been to NYC before, its pretty clear Verizon dominates the market over there.
Where I live, AT&T is dominant here. Verizon's coverage is about the same, but they are slower. My friend's Droid X gets 1-1.5MB download while on AT&T I get close to 3MB downloads. Also, at a party - I got pushed into a pool and my phone got destroyed and had to use my friend's Verizon phone. The service was pretty bad. It was hard to hear and the calls hardly went through.

It depends on your area!

Ahhh, and you see that big blue blob going all across central Florida on the AT&T map? That's where I live and work, lots of 3G around and get over 3mb download speeds! Glad I live in a good AT&T area.

I actually think it sucks that AT&T dropped unlimited for new users. Thankfully, I'm grandfathered, but AT&T could change that at any time. So, IMO, it's great that VZW offers an unlimited data plan.

I can't imagine worrying every month if I'm going to exceed 150 Mb.

Where's she going? She's sticking with Apple's products, and she's sticking with a carrier that has received Apple's official "blessing". She isn't doing anything to blaspheme against the blessed Jobs. Can't we all just get along?

Nah were talking about AT&T here

The five Verizon reps I have talked to said that the 150mb at $15 will be available for the iPhone.

The biggest issue I had with Verizon was that, for an *individual* plan, even with my company's 25% discount, I paid almost as much for a talk-only plan (900 minutes per month, because they didn't have anything between 400 minutes & 900 minutes) as I'm paying now with my iPhone 4 (450 min/mo talk, unlimited data & unlimited text - 23% discount on the talk & data plans). I really didn't start texting that much until maybe a year ago, so when I originally made the switch, I was paying about $10/mo LESS than I was on Verizon.

As for "talk & surf at the same time," I have to say that's not a feature I use often, BUT it has come in very handy on the few occasions where I've needed to be on the phone with someone & look up (or send) an email.

And I bet you got that map from a Verizon site right?

I say to each his own. You couldn't pay me to go back to Verizon but I've been happy with AT&T in the DC Metro area...

God I love that map...all the white is areas of the country I hardly ever visit, so it means nothing to me. DC has been good for me as well, with the exception being my apartment; but no one gets a signal in there. I would actually consider Verizon if they gave me a good deal, but there's no way I'm buying a phone right now that can't do voice and data at the same time. I'm not trying to argue the point here, and don't need people to tell me to hang up on my girlfriend or boss while I'm looking up something up for them, but for me, it's a dealbreaker. It's the same people that can't understand why you would need more than 16 GB on your phone; if you don't get it you never will because we use our phones in drastically different ways.

Well, I've been to every state but ME and used my AT&T phone is a good number of them which has usually worked out well...sorry, no Verizon comparison to make.

Yeah, but most people might not live in that area you visited in each state. Basically, my point is, its different everywhere and you just have to see whats better for you.
