Verizon Media Event Scheduled for January 11th: iPhone Announcement?

Well, luckily I don't have any of those issues. But I can tell you, it is very convenient if people get annoying on the phone to just hang up and than later claim - ooops, ********** AT&T and iPhone dropped the call right in the second when you were telling me all the interesting stuff .... everybody will believe you
That sucked. Could be worse, remember Nov. 2nd of 2008? That was a pretty epic let down as well.
you can take your story and replace verizon with (any carrier) and it will hold true for someone in the US, no carrier is better than another in terms of coverage over all, it will always come down to where you are.
i'll probably stick with ATT simply because i have unlimited data and can't see myself giving that up, and coverage is on par with what verizon can offer
You are all wrong: obviously you haven't forgotten that day --> proofs apple was right !
Only the day you forget that day you can say they were wrong, but the problem is you will have forgotten that and won't be able to claim that victory.
Why I think this is the VZW iPhone announcement?
1. If there were any other big announcements, VZW would have announced it at CES. (Remember guys, VZW's CES Keynote was YESTERDAY)
2. In other countries, when iPhone was announced to new carriers.. guess what THEY WEREN'T APPLE EVENTS.
3. It cannot be the new iPad. Why? Because Apple hasn't announced it yet, there will be an Apple event FOR the new iPad FIRST.
4. RE: iPhone 4 (for VZW/ATT) in January and iPhone 5 in June/July. That's still 6 months away, new Android devices and others come out all the time... that's still a lot of life left in iPhone 4.

slow down buddy ... it's not even know if it is the Verizon iPhone ... might be the latest MS Windows 7 Phone (or how ever they call WinCE7 these days)
I can see that if the new iPhone has CDMA/GSM capability then Verizon would want to control the announcement to ensure that they get the publicity. If this is a new Universal iPhone, then an Apple event might have Steve saying the phone is available on Verizon AND ATT, but at a Verizon event, they can control the message to be that Verizon now has the iPhone.
Yes... because you'll be bittorrenting over your phone 24/7... right?
The speed is fine for most consumers and business people.
Ultimately, I'd rather have reliability over speed any day.
