I called Verizon and also had to cancel my order to take advantage of the promotion. Re-ordered with the promotion and everything is good now.
 
Same here and Contact Us is not giving me any options to chat about my rate plan.

Click on 'managing my account' and it should say chat now. Sometimes if all reps are busy it'll tell you to wait, just refresh in that case.

Really? So you lose your place in line? Figured they could change the order rather than cancelling it and having to re-order which then means you would be getting your phone weeks later than your original purchase

I'm trying to find out what was done differently, based on what I and another poster here were told, we can keep our order the same and just process the trade in after the fact
 
Yeah I thought they could just add the promotion but no dice. At first they actually wanted to cancel the order and have me go into Verizon on 9/16 to do the trade and order, which wouldn't have been ideal. So I canceled it and was able to re-order right away. The only good thing is that my new order still has the 9/16 delivery date.

That is what I am hoping. I am in the same boat. I wasn't offered the promotion and was only offered $36.90 for the iphone 6. So, I declined trading it in.

When you cancelled it, what did you do differently in the order process?
 
The person I talked to on the phone was super nice but wasn't the most knowledgeable so maybe you can have better luck.

I talked to someone on chat this morning and a rep at the Verizon store and they both told me once I set up the phone I should be able to process the trade in and Verizon will apply the credits after 2-3 billing cycles.

Sorry for some reason the direct reply isn't working for me.

They canceled it over the phone and I was able to re-order right away. When I went through the process and got to the "pre order" button, it brought up a dialog window that had "Trade in device" as one of the options. Then it just went through the selecting device process.

Hmm, interesting. Cause I got to that part and I asked the chat rep and they said don't go ahead and do it, but they told you do that? What did your order look like before you submitted it?

That is what I did. And it told me that I will only be receiving $36.90 for the phone. So I contacted Verizon and I asked if this was $36.90 outright or $36.90 credit per month or something of that sort and they told me $36.90 outright.

my rep said the same exact thing. She said to not trade in the phone since I will only be getting $36 and to just sell it privately.

Yeah they told me to re-order and go through the promotion trade in process. After I selected the phone to trade it said the appraisal is worth $650. At the checkout it noted that the $27 whatever would be taken off per month. Shortly after I got an email from Verizon with trade in instructions.

If you go to order a new phone now and do the trade in promotion, what does it tell you the value is of the one you want to trade in?

Sigh. had my 7 in rose gold and my 7+ in matte black ordered by 03:10. 09/16 delivery. Something messed up and I only got confirmation on one $650 trade in, not 2. (2 year old 6 and 6+)
Called Verizon and something in my account was totally borked. They showed a trade in, but not for the line i got confirmation on.
Only way to fix was to cancel the order and reorder....
Now I am at 09/28......
So much for getting up at 03:00....
I did get $25 for my trouble.....
 
Chatting Verizon again. This is what i'm getting so far:
LEANTHONY: You do not have to re order. Once you get the devoice, you would then go to vzw.com/device-recycle, Then finish the trade in process.
LEANTHONY: Then you would pay the first 2 billing cycles of the i phone 7, then you will start getting a bill credit each moth for the i phone charge.

It is saying $650 now
 
Wish I would have seen this. I'm stuck with the crap iPhone Upgrade Program for another year where I have to drive 120 miles to the Apple Store like a giant idiot because Apple's sales reps lied to me yesterday afternoon.

I spoke to several folks on the phone and ended up with the trade in supervisor. They said a cancel/reorder was the only way to get this special trade in offer. I did get a trade in confirmation email for both my phones after the reorder stating the $650 each in monthly payments.....

If you can try to call a corporate store (not authorized re-seller/retailer) and see what they have to say. I wish I could have traded it directly to the store and not have to cancel.
