If I order today it will ship by 10/14 according to a VZW I just spoke to and arrive two days later.

Great. Get up in the middle of the night to order this thing to get it by 10/16 or just order it today and get it by 10/14. Hopefully this means orders will ship much sooner than promised for those of us who ordered last week.
 
I was really hoping to wake up to a "Preparing to ship" or a "shipped" status considering so many orders from post launch day are being delivered. Yet, still in processing. :(

The closest store to having any in stock is the Apple store in Memphis (100 mile drive). :/

As of 9/30/2013, if you order from Verizon Wireless today the ship-by dates are:

10/14 for silver 16GB.

10/21 for space gray 16GB

11/11 for gold 16GB

I ordered mine from the Verizon Business Account ordering site on Friday evening around 6PM EST. Showed a ship-by date of 10/28, order status page still shows 10/28 ship-by, and "Awaiting Inventory" status.

Really hoping they're over-exaggerating the ship-by's, I'd love to have this thing sooner!

I had found some 32GB Space Grey's in stock around town, but none at the actual Verizon Corperate stores, and because of our business account I couldn't purchase from Authorized Retailers... The local corporate stores said they probably wouldn't see any stock till 10/4, but I'm gunna keep checking as long as my online order doesn't ship.

Ordered a 16gb Gold from Verizon's site on 9/20. Received email confirmation at 2:12 (central). I was given an original ship date of 9/24, but it was pushed by until 10/7. The phone actually shipped on 9/27 with an estimated arrival on 10/1. Yay for a day early!!:p
 
Does most peoples Order Status still say "Awaiting Inventory"? Do they e-mail you when the status changes, or only when it ships?

I'm just curious if there's any real point to me constantly checking my order status haha

Mine has said from the moment I first checked it; "We received your order and it is in process." Not one thing about it has changed since I first got my email on 9/20.

If only there was like a more up-to-date ETA about them. A lot of orders are being shipped out early, and they have to obviously prepare the order for shipment. And also I'm sure they know when they are about to prepare a new order for shipment. It should have some message to at least state that so that we know. Instead of just "it is in process." That's a very vague status message, in my opinion. But the bright side is, one more week and hopefully I wont have to deal with this terrible system they have anymore as I should have my phone by then. Still waiting on it to ship though. (Originally 9/24 delayed to 10/7. Silver, 16GB)

Like Elite, I still have the "We have received your order and it is in process" status that also hasn't changed since my original order 3:16 am EST on 9/20. Then got the email pushing it back to 10/16, probably because of the gold. Otherwise, they allegedly send an email when it ships.

So mine was supposed to be delivered today - out on a truck then we get a message about bad delivery information - my address isn't in any GPS system but there are FedEx trucks there every day. Must be a new driver or??? So they leave a voice mail message I call back and the women has no phone information to inform driver of closest cross street etc. She says she has never seen that - no call back. Had to put information on electronic record so they should find it.

Great. I'm out of town but was expecting delivery so I could deal with it when I get home.

Fedex is getting as bad as USPS.

I received my order confirmation email at 03:27 EDT on 9/20 with a ship by date of 9/24 and then received a delay suggesting a 10/16 ship date. I just noticed however that the screen print of my receipt at check-out has a ship by date of 9/30.

Hmmm...hopefully that's a good sign things are moving again! I had the 32 GB Gray but 16 GB Gold and almost ordered at the exact same time and received the same 10/16 email.

My Space Gray reservation at Best Buy came in, but not Gold yet...BB did say that Apple shipments seem to be a different breed than their usual inventory, in that they just "get 'em when they get 'em" whereas with other inventory they can usually check what will be on each truck.
 
Well, I decided to check out BBYM one more time tonight. Low and behold, there was a 32gb space grey in stock...and the last one at that. Needless to say, I went and picked it up and called in to cancel my 16gb. Coincidentally, right before I called, its status changed to "preparing to ship." Lol

Side note: The fingerprint scanner is nuts. It works flawlessly on all fingers I have set up.

Man, it feels good to be back in an IPhone.
 
ordered yesterday, 16gb gray. Can't find any indications on my verizonwireless acount that I purchased anything. I'm on a family account and I'm not the account owner ...

Called my local Corporate store just now and they have some 64GB Space Grey's in, which they must have received this AM (since I had called over the weekend and they had none). They had told me (and told me again today) that they won't be receiving shipments until pre-orders are filled.

I'm just antsy to get my 32GB Space Grey so I can cancel my USCC account! Since they do seem to be getting some I'm gunna keep calling each day in hopes that they get a 32 space grey in haha

Called Verizon and apparently there were issues processing my payment (again, confusion because I ordered with my personal card on a business account). Instead of contacting me, they just cancelled the order. I was pissed, but there's really nothing I can do. So I'm now looking to re-order.

Should I order through Verizon again or Apple? Who will get me my phone faster? None of my local retailers have what I'm looking for (silver 16gb Verizon). I'm also going to go look at the space gray tonight and see if I want to settle and just get that.

Directly through apple is probably your best bet if you're going to order it. Although you're probably much better off just checking local retailers frequently and reserving one when you see they have it in stock. My apple store said they get deliveries sporadically throughout the day. And best buy seems to get fairly many as well.

If you live near an apple store(s), I'd check the apple online store (I think at night after 9 or 10pm) and check availability for the stores near you. If not, I'm not sure which is better (apple or verizon). I had payment processing issues last year as well with verizon (something about how verizon charged as some other corporation when trying to bill for the iphone) - this year, I called my cc company and told them to expect of charge or $XX and it went through with no problems.

Well that sucks to hear, since I'm in the same boat (purchasing with upgrade on business account using my personal card). I just looked at my order and realized it has our companies address as the "Bill To" which is why I'm assuming yours didn't go through. I'm gunna try to call and see what I can do. I'll be severely pissed if it gets cancelled because of their crappy billing/ordering.
 
Ordered 64GB Space Gray at midnight on launch day, initially got the "will ship 9/24" message, and then got the "ship date revised to 10/7" message.

Just received shipping notification today with a FedEx tracking number, so it looks like some batches are going out earlier than estimated.
 
Ordered 64 grey on launch day via my business account. Ship date was oct 7th but my card was billed today. Verizon rep stated when they bill the phone normally ships the next day. We shall see..oh yeah placed my order around 6am.

Forgot to mention amex declined the charge as a fraud protection. I had to call and let verizon know to process it again. Verizon doesnt bill it under their name. I think it is cellcro or something like that - i have it in an email.
